Although Mason Nightshade didn't say anything, Aurelia Shaw quickly understood his meaning.

"You want to keep this as a last resort?"

Mason Nightshade's lips curved up, "My wife is just so smart."

Aurelia Shaw ignored him.

She continued to flip through these photos, looking very focused.

Watching his wife look at these kinds of photos so intently, Mason Nightshade felt a bit uneasy.

"Stop looking." He grabbed the phone, "What's so interesting about naked photos of this kind of man? If you want, I'll make you a copy so you can handle it however you like later."

He tucked the phone into his pocket, to prevent her from asking again, and changed the topic, "Didn't you also search for his videos and photos with other women before? That's only part of it, and it was at a hotel. A big portion of these happened in his office."

"It seems he has a habit of taking these photos and videos, probably to threaten those girls."

"That really does sound like something he'd do." Aurelia Shaw squinted her eyes coolly, then suddenly grew silent and looked up at Mason Nightshade, "How about the investigation about my dad's case? Have you found out who's behind it?"

"Grayson Quinn is investigating." Mason Nightshade said, noticing the change in Aurelia Shaw's expression, somewhat guessing what she was thinking, "If you have any questions, just ask. I've said you can ask me anything."

Aurelia Shaw hesitated for a moment, then asked directly without any fuss, "If this matter is related to my dad, would you take action against him?"

Mason Nightshade looked steadily into Aurelia Shaw's eyes, seeing his face reflected in her serious and focused black pupils.

"He is your family." He said, "Though he is not a qualified father."

After a moment, his lips curled into a sneer, "He should be grateful he's your father."

The meaning behind those words was clear.

Aurelia Shaw didn't speak, lowered her head, unsure of what she was thinking. After a moment, she looked up to find Mason Nightshade staring at her unblinkingly.

She was stunned for a moment.

Quickly snapped back to reality.

"Mason Nightshade, promise me something, and I'll agree to stay here."

Mason Nightshade didn't say yes or no, just raised his eyebrows watching her.

"No matter what happens, and no matter what happens between us, don't harm my dad."

Mason Nightshade stared at her small face for a moment, then smiled indulgently, "Okay, no matter what happens, I won't harm him. If anything unexpected happens, I'll have someone protect him, okay? Is that acceptable?"

Aurelia Shaw breathed a sigh of relief.

When Mason Nightshade makes a promise, he definitely won't break it.

Mason Nightshade went out to take a call.

Aurelia Shaw's phone also rang. She glanced at the caller ID but ignored it. The phone buzzed continuously, and a sarcastic voice sounded from behind:

"Is there something you can't let others see? Even refusing to take calls."

Sophie Nye came back from shopping, heard from the servants that Aurelia Shaw had moved in, and was infuriated that the old man had actually brought her over! As soon as she entered, she saw Aurelia sitting on the sofa like she owned the place, and her anger rose uncontrollably.

She had lived in this old house for decades, had to sit properly in front of the old man, and think carefully before speaking any word.

She had never been as comfortable sitting as Aurelia was.

There was jealousy, and there was anger.

After being suppressed in this family for decades, her mind became somewhat twisted. She just wanted to use her status as a mother-in-law to make Aurelia miserable.

"It's nothing shady, just calls from people I don't want to answer." Aurelia Shaw replied nonchalantly, her almond-shaped eyes narrowing slightly, a sign of danger.
