Top Student at Their Peak
Chapter 395 - 137: Triumphant Return_2
CHAPTER 395: CHAPTER 137: TRIUMPHANT RETURN_2
Then he strode out of the meeting room.
Qiao Yu wasn’t interested in participating in whatever decisions were to be made by this group next. If they really wouldn’t let him participate, he would just jot down all their names in a little notebook.
It’s simply that when climbing to the top, there are more people you casually kick out of the way. After all, kicking one or ten is still just kicking.
When Qiao Yu returned to the hotel room, he found that no one was asleep; everyone was gathered in the room he shared with Yu Wei, making it exceptionally lively.
"Why aren’t you resting, what are you all doing here?" Qiao Yu asked in surprise.
When they were assigned rooms, everyone got a double room. Although they were all young guys, after such a long flight, they should all be tired, not to mention needing to adjust to the time difference...
"Brother Qiao, what else could we be doing? We’ve already found out that many delegations have arrived. Like the United States and Finland... they’re all over there."
Yu Yongjun said to Qiao Yu with a wink.
"And then?" Qiao Yu asked, confused, "Planning to hold the opening ceremony early?"
Gong Jiatao immediately chimed in, "No, old Qiao, it’s about the game. You can’t just destroy us and suddenly become compassionate here, right?"
Qiao Yu suddenly realized...
Oh, it’s about that game he invented.
He was so focused on whether he could participate in the IMO competition that he almost forgot about it.
Leader Zhou had mentioned it to him before, and it seemed like he was in favor of it. Anyway, he still didn’t know if he could participate in this competition...
"Alright, but can you invite anyone? Do their leaders allow them to play games?" Qiao Yu asked.
"The leaders don’t care about that; they not only allow but encourage free interaction among the contestants. It shouldn’t be a problem to invite people to play games."
said Zhang Yi, a contestant from Jiang City.
Qiao Yu remembered this teammate; during the first training camp at Yanbei University, he was the one who lasted the longest.
Truly persistent, never giving up despite defeats.
"Alright then, you guys go ask around. For the game, I suggest playing CS:GO or League of Legends. Especially CS:GO, I have a lot of one-on-one maps on my Steam."
Mentioning this, Qiao Yu felt an itch in his hands.
Really, sometimes Qiao Yu even felt he was frighteningly self-disciplined.
His laptop was still the one given to him by Xingtie First Middle School. It already had Steam installed and many of his favorite games downloaded.
He planned to play when he had time to rest at Yanbei University, but once he got there, he hadn’t touched a game at all. He hadn’t even opened Steam once.
Games had almost become a distant memory for him. He wasn’t sure if he had gotten rusty.
If it was League of Legends, he hadn’t played in a long time, so his skills might be rusty, but if it was a shooting game, Qiao Yu felt he could handle this group of math students without much trouble.
"Alright, then we’ll go find people to discuss this. Brother Qiao, you just wait here."
The buddies dispersed quickly, leaving only him and Yu Wei in the room.
Yu Wei quietly took out his laptop and handed it to Qiao Yu.
"Hmm?"
"Your laptop isn’t suitable for gaming. Use mine; just log into Steam yourself."
Yu Wei said succinctly.
Qiao Yu glanced at Yu Wei’s laptop. Well, needless to say, the rich kid’s laptop was definitely superior in performance to his own.
But to be fair, they weren’t even in the same category. The laptops purchased in bulk by the school were more suited to official use.
Qiao Yu didn’t say much, took the laptop, turned it on, logged into Steam, and started downloading the game...
Have to admit, the speed was indeed fast.
"By the way, what did they call you for earlier?" Yu Wei asked proactively.
Qiao Yu turned to Yu Wei in surprise, feeling that this guy had changed quite a bit. Normally, he wasn’t one to talk much.
"They were discussing whether I’m qualified to participate, saying someone raised a doubt that since I’ve registered at the university, I don’t meet the eligibility criteria."
Qiao Yu succinctly replied.
"And what was the outcome?" Yu Wei asked.
"Don’t know. I gave my opinion and left; they’re still discussing it." Qiao Yu casually answered.
"Why do you still fool around with them? What if the committee finds out and you have no chance to participate?"
Yu Wei frowned and said.
After all, he hoped Qiao Yu would participate in this competition.
Although, in some respects, he had given up trying to catch up with Qiao Yu’s pace.
But if this IMO’s questions weren’t that tough and his own condition was good, he could achieve a perfect score gold medal too.
Although he wouldn’t count on Qiao Yu stumbling in such an exam, even if Qiao Yu was amazing, at most he could match Qiao Yu with a perfect score gold medal.
In short, Yu Wei thought that would give some closure to his IMO journey.
"Don’t think of those people as so principled. Whether I can participate in the competition has nothing to do with whether I show off my gaming skills. It ultimately depends on ability."
Qiao Yu said nonchalantly.
He had a feeling that there was a high probability he could participate. Because he could see that the attitude of the advisory committee on this matter was quite ambiguous.
Which suggested that they didn’t see it as a big deal themselves, bringing it up might be a way to ask for benefits.
Qiao Yu’s judgment wasn’t actually wrong.
Undeniably, many things in this world seem extremely disconnected to ordinary people.
For example, based on news reports, the relations between two countries might appear to be at a nadir.
But in reality, communication between various industries has been ongoing, and in many aspects, exchanges are still quite close.
