CHAPTER 104: PLEASE GO EASY ON HIM

-Clank! Clank! Clank!

Sparks were flying everywhere as a Red blazing Aura, wrapped around a blood-red sword collided against a snow-white blade covered in a cold white Aura.

The two different natures of Aura were of opposing elements. If one was hot and destructive, the other one was chilly and freezing.

One was meant to destroy everything that went against it while being in the presence of the other froze everything around it.

-Booooooooooom!

When the two Aura collided at a 90-degree angle, instead of sparks, it produced explosions that shook the entire training ground that they were in right now.

In this training ground, there were around 12 of the highest ranking individuals of the 30th city, ones that were trusted by the Captain and not the other powers, and watching this scene was the craziest, most jaw-dropping thing in their entire lives.

-Clank! Clank! Clank!

There was someone who went against their captain on nearly equal footing– at the very least, the challenger was able to survive against their captain even after exchanging a few blows.

That alone had earned their respect, but if that wasn’t enough, they were seeing a display of swordsmanship that they had never witnessed in their entire lives.

-Boooooooooooooom!

The fight wasn’t something they could follow with their eyes... the movement techniques that the two of them were using, the sparks and the Aura that was flying around the place, and the entire battle that was happening before them had pulled them down to the ground.

This was not only uncomfortable to watch, it wasn’t safe for them either.

And they were at a substantial distance right now. If they were anywhere in the sphere of their attacks, they would have been injured pretty badly by now... they knew well they might have even been chopped like ’mutton kheema’ had they been anywhere in their impact range.

-BOOOOOOOOOOM!

This battle was simply crazy.

At least, that was how it was for the onlookers...

’She has been lonely, in pain, and alone.’

As he clashed against her, he could feel the loneliness that came from the Cold Aura.

She had been in a worse state than he had expected.

Loneliness had frozen her heart, the nightmare had shattered her soul, while the distance against the world itself had crystalized her humanity.

He was in agony after feeling these emotions indirectly so, he could only imagine just how much worse it must have been for her.

’He was sincere from the start.’

Just like how he could feel her from their clashes, she could feel him as well.

The warmth of his Aura was hot but not scorching. These flames of destruction were meant to destroy, but at the same time, they weren’t hostile.

As they clashed more and more, she realized something— the flames that burned with the intent to destroy were born only to destroy the foe.

They fought against the cold but warmed her frozen hands. These red-hot flames that burned with graceful sincerity weren’t a result of rage or hate.

’Just like how my chilly winds were born from my frozen soul, his red flames were born to prevent bloodshed, to protect, to fight against the evil of this world.’

As she clashed with him, she also realized how this person before her knew more about her habits and battle techniques than she had ever realized herself.

He knew the small habits that she didn’t consciously notice and exploited them as if he had always known about them.

He was obviously much weaker than her, but the reason he was still standing against her was simply because of the things he knew about her... it was as if he had fought against her hundreds of times.

’He uses techniques that are a perfect counter to mine, he uses risky maneuvers just to bait me, and he’s being cheeky every time he predicts the gaps in his defenses that I’m not going to exploit.’

After clashing swords against him, she was starting to realize just how deep their relationship must have been.

He learned so much from her, he knew so much about her, they were fighting, and yet his Aura was warming her hands... and those eyes looking at him with sadness and agony.

’This little cutie...’

She didn’t expect it, but it seemed like she wouldn’t have any choice but to accept him as her student...

-BOOOOOOOOM!

"You’re good." With a grin on her face, she looked right into his eyes as the two of them were thrown away after another explosion.

"But you still have to learn a lot, Mister." She was having fun for the first time after a long, long time.

She wanted to continue this fun battle of theirs for a while longer. If she could, she wanted to keep going the whole day and just stay here until this sparring arena was destroyed completely.

There was so much she wanted to know, so much they needed to talk with their swords. She wanted to keep him here for a few days if possible... but she could tell he was at his limit.

"That’s why I asked you to go easy on me, master. That’s why everyone told you to go easy on me."

Zyon wasn’t the only one who had asked her to go easy on him. All twelve that were barely hanging on by the balcony barriers had asked her to go easy on him as well.

The difference between the strength of this one person and all the other city’s captains combined was great enough already, but fighting a rookie outsider seriously was the same as fighting a newborn baby.

Zyon had surely proved himself to be different from the rest of them, but he was still no match for her.

She had repeated a nightmare for the last ten years where she fought countless battles and trained for countless days within those nightmares.

Her battle senses were incomparable to anyone on this floor. Her Level may be (Level-39) but she was still the strongest person here thanks to her techniques and skills.

She could defeat a few of the city guard captains with just her Aura manipulation abilities alone. To have stood against her for this long... he was a legend in the eyes of the executives.

"Haha, this was just the warm-up, little one. Are you done already? Do you want to take a break~?"

Also, this was the first time they saw their captain so happy. To be more accurate, this was the first time they were seeing any kind of expression on their captain’s face at all.

And for that as well, they wanted to thank this kid.

"We can go on for a little longer. It’s fine, master."

He wasn’t done yet. He could still go on for a little longer.

He was pushing himself, but it was fine.

As long as she was happy, he didn’t mind the extreme pain that came with the battle’s progression.

"Haha, you care for me too much. You sure we weren’t a thing, Zyon dear?"

She placed her sword away and teased him as she approached him in a better mood.

He was brave but she didn’t want to break this fun child just yet.

There was still a lot more she wanted to see, a lot more she wanted to learn about him.

If he injured himself while pushing himself unnecessarily, she would have to spend a few days tending to him.

"We weren’t anything more than a student and teacher, master." Ziggy wanted to make it clear.

"You keep calling me master instead of teacher or even by my name. You weren’t my slave, right? Tell me the truth, Zyon dear~."

"That’s not true, master. Please don’t say these strange things out loud." He was feeling helpless instead of embarrassed.

This is exactly how she had always been.

This is exactly the one he had learned the basics from.
