Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing
Chapter 121: The Approaching Red Night
CHAPTER 121: THE APPROACHING RED NIGHT
"Huu... things went well with that inauguration." At the dinner table, KiRA whispered to Izzy as they began their dinner alongside their parents with all their guild members present around them.
They were done with the ceremony that included Izzy’s speech, an introduction to the guild’s executives, as well as the blueprint of what they were going to do starting tomorrow.
The function went smoothly, and everyone seemed excited to work together right now. There seemed to be a kind of cohesiveness present that one only sees after a few months or years of working together.
The atmosphere here was pretty great as well. Everyone was chatting together, introducing each other, and getting to know one another.
Those from the production teams weren’t limiting themselves to the members of the production teams either. After Izzy’s strong emphasis on the importance of the material collection team, all of them were socializing equally.
"They seem to be having fun as well, huh? Well, I guess I did a good job." Izzy was happy as she looked around herself.
These people were going to be around this base more from now on.
They were going to offer housing for their production teams and also the combat teams around the neighborhood, but if they did not want to live here, they were free to look for any other housing around the city.
They simply needed to be here when they were working; this was the guild base, and they weren’t necessarily bound to this place.
It would be better if this place were kept confidential. Not that anything would change even if the other guilds in the city knew about it... If they were a secret base, the bigger guilds around the city and the world also had their own secret bases.
And even if they did not, the Trailblaze would only pave the path for new ones.
"They are being considerate as well. Hmm... you two certainly chose some good ones." Izzy’s mom commented while taking a sip of her wine.
They were sitting in a corner with their family while the other executives were away in other places.
Seeing as how even the executives weren’t disturbing them right now, the guild members did not hinder the family dinner for the time being.
They collectively knew they would soon get their chance as well.
They were more focused on their fellow guild members right now, giving a breathing space to the family that seemed to be exhausted.
"You helped us as well. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without your help." KiRA sincerely thanked their parents with a smile on their face.
The family table was filled with food and other delicacies right now. They enjoyed themselves and rested a little, knowing full well they were going to be bombarded with greetings from their guild members soon.
"Anyways..." KiRA took a bite from the medium-rare stake and looked to the side at his two partners. "The Red Night is approaching."
Not much time was left for the Night of the Red Moon.
When the time came, they would be fighting their own battles, in their own cities, but they still had many responsibilities.
"You know what you have to do, right?" KiRA looked at Ziggy with a confident gaze. He knew he could depend on him for what he needed to do with the guardian captain of the 30th city.
"I know. Don’t worry, Miss Rose already knows that I know. We will work things out... besides, I’m almost done with the creation of my Aura Core."
There was a certain smile on Ziggy’s face even though he seemed to be a little under the weather right now.
"I can see that. You should have just stayed in the tower and finished the Core. You know how dangerous this is?" KiRA was upset that Ziggy was here right now.
The Aura Core was something pretty useful. For a swordsman like Ziggy, who already had a great mastery of his Aura and weapon, having an Aura Core would certainly be a great boost.
He could finally use some of the techniques he wasn’t able to even with his blessed stats. The Core was a power that few knew about and fewer could manifest.
But he was on the verge of finishing his core, which made this time more precious to him.
It would have been much better if he had stayed inside the tower and focused on finishing the core instead of joining them in this event.
It may be important for them, but they would completely understand it if the reason were so valid.
But no.
"Haha, it’s not that big a deal~. You know me, I can handle this much." He was smiling right now, lying to them through his spinach-stained teeth.
"Don’t smile like that, dummy. Where are your manners?" His mom was the first person to scold him. She also shot him a glare, telling him to close his mouth.
"Haaa... Even you aren’t immune to the effects of an [Aura counterflow], Ziggy. You’re going back as soon as we’re done with this, alright?" KiRA was perhaps the only person here who had actually seen how bad an Aura counterflow looked.
Different from a Mana counterflow that only affects an individual, when a wrong fluctuation happens within a stabilising Aura nucleus, the result is the same as a nuke.
It happened very rarely since the individual that the ’process’ is about to happen to dies way before the Aura could permeate the solidifying layer of the core, but Ziggy was prone to something like this thanks to all the blessings and attention he was receiving from the higher beings.
"I get it, Kai... Alright, I will go back soon. Can we focus on the food for now?" He was the hero. This careless, mannerless, overly protective person was the Hero.
KiRA couldn’t help shaking his head at his big brother right now.
"Here." He simply served him his favourite salad and continued on with his dinner as well.
The true hectic days were right on the horizon.
’It will begin soon...’
With the Red Night approaching, the atmosphere around the entire floor was going to change as well.
It will directly affect their world in many ways as well, but they need to pass the trials of this nightmarish tower.
People were going to die, and it was inevitable... So at the very least, KiRA wanted to prevent as many deaths as possible.
He won’t be able to save them all, but at the very least, he has made preparations to bring the best possible results.
Now, it was time for a prelude to the Red Nightmare, a curse put on an individual that, in all honesty, was a blessing to everything else around them...
