CHAPTER 138: 3RD FLOOR CLEARED

"Captain Rose, please follow me and trust me on this one." Out of the blue, KiRA appeared beside Captain Rose, who was about to close in on the demon before her.

She did not sense him coming close, but there he was right now, with two swords of red-blue gold-silver in his hands.

"The demon is vulnerable to holy power, but there is something even more potent that it is vulnerable to," KiRA spoke in a calm voice, with eyes that seemed to be looking into the future.

The captain could also tell what KiRA was talking about right now. There was only one thing that had been more effective than the holy power against this demon throughout this fight: her frost Aura.

"The Aura contains a unique property that is more effective against this particular demon. The Lady had known this when she created this curse, so you have to be the one to deal with the demon." KiRA vanished once again right before her eyes, surprising the captain once again.

There were multiple battles going on all throughout the battlefield. She could tell he was using some kind of technique instead of a skill, but the effectiveness of the skill was terrifying.

{ "I will create an opening, so please finish this with everything you have, Captain Rose." }

His voice echoed in her head right when she thought he had gone away.

She did not understand what kind of opening he was going to create when there were still hundreds of the dark soldiers, as well as the corrupted monsters, present around them.

The night was coming to an end, but they had still not damaged the creature enough for them to defeat it completely. They still needed to damage it much more for her to deal enough damage to conclude the battle.

’How’s he going to do it with such a little opening...?’

She had finally regained her memories at this moment, the memories that should have been with her all this time.

The battle that she fought alongside her master, the so-called witch, in the past, she had already recalled how it was back then and what had happened for all things to come to this point.

If she fails to defeat this creature, she will not lose these memories. Once the night concludes, the loop that was stuck on one point would move forward, and the floor would enter a new loop.

If she fails to deal with the demons the next time, the loop would continue along with the daily nightmares. As that happens, she would once again fail the mission and slowly lose her memories, becoming the Captain Rose that she had been for as long as she could remember now.

However, if the demon dies, she would retain these memories, and as she goes towards the next night of the Red moon, she would remember these; there would be no monster waves, and all they would fight against would be the remaining demons.

’But, is it even possible to defeat that thing?’

The demon was powerful.

The people on her side were strong, had holy power, could fight against the monsters that were the demon’s dark soldiers, and yet, all they had managed to do was scratch the dark body of the demon a few times.

The damage that they were dealing with was not enough. Even if she gathered all of her Aura, she would not be able to defeat this thing... so, what kind of opening was her student’s brother talking about?

-Oooooooooooooong!

She did not quite understand what he might be up to at first, but soon she realised something.

"Hmmm?"

She could feel a strange sensation deep within her that, as she understood, was connected to the curse that she was part of.

There was something happening to the curse, or, to be precise, to the core of the curse.

"Wait..." Captain Rose moved her head, and after her eyes searched frantically around the battlefield, they found the hooded figure with the strange scarf around his neck.

’That thing wasn’t an item?’

She had felt a strong yet strange power from whatever it was. She thought it must be some kind of powerful item, but she was wrong.

It was something more than an item. Something that should not have been here.

"How did he even..."

-Swish! Swish! Swish!

Swinging her sword, she killed a bunch of the dark soldiers before pausing and watching what he was doing.

As she watched, the muffler around him, the woolly thing that did not seem anything like a creature, curled its body and revealed its adorable fox form.

Then, KiRA did something even more fascinating...

Taking the creature in one hand, he called the bird that was flying above everyone onto his other hand.

She had seen the bird before, but she had always thought of it as a tamed beast and nothing much. She had not thought much of the creature or, now that she thought about it, she had never really paid much attention to the bird at all.

As she thought about it, she realised she still could not think much about the creature as if there was some kind of restriction preventing her from paying attention to it, and it was only then that she realised how unique the creature actually was.

-Oooooooooooooong!

With the help of the creature, KiRA first brought out his Holy power and Purity, mixed them with the unique energy of the bird, and focused it all on the Fox.

Controlling the energy, he wrapped the Fox in the energy and took out something else from his inventory.

"...?!"

To her surprise, the thing he took out was a dark crystal that the Captain could instantly recognize as a Demon’s heart.

There were a few other materials, like Mana crystals, cores of spectral beings, and even natural materials that possessed powerful energies.

Even the Demon noticed all these things, especially the different demonic energy from the demon heart on the other side to him. But it was already too late by then.

-OOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!

A powerful light exploded when KiRA fused all these things with the energy that was wrapped around the little Fox, attracting attention from everyone on the battlefield.

-ZAAAAAA...!

A pillar of light was created, and soon, from this pillar of light, something they all had seen before slipped out like a higher being descending onto the lower lands.

"Is that...?!"

"Hey, look!"

"There it is again... the angel of the 12th city."

A form covered in holy light, a blazing golden halo, feathers so pure they seem to be made of clouds, and a light that instantly warmed the entire battlefield.

As if the sun had already risen, the being appeared like a meteor and overtook everything around the battlefield, including the demon that felt instant disgust at the appearance of the being.

The dark soldiers that it had created melted away at the appearance of the ’angel’, but the being wasn’t the reason behind the change. It was the new core of the curse that had, once again, flown far above the battlefield.

-Oooooooooooooooooong!

With the core’s control in KiRA’s hands through Unity’s powers, they decreased the demon’s powers further, making it even more vulnerable to the holy power.

Then, KiRA created hundreds of new feathers of light and aimed them all at the demon below him.

The demon instantly recognised the strange power as it cursed at the figure in the sky, gathering his demonic power and creating a weapon that resembled a sword-like arrow.

-Ooooooooooong...!

The feathers in the sky gathered into one and became something that resembled an Arrow of light, aimed right at the demon that had the Arrow of darkness present before him!

-Boom!

Both of them shot the arrows of Light and Darkness at once, and both the attacks closed in the distance between them instantaneously.

-BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

An explosion was heard throughout the battlefield when this happened. The creatures that were corrupted by the demonic power instantly lost control of their minds and exploded like popping balloons.

-ZAAAAA...!

The shockwave shook the area around them, making a few of the players almost lose their footing.

-SWIIISH!

But the result of the clash was vague, as only a void in space was left behind after the collision of the dark and the powers of light.

-Swish!

Still, this was not the end for the Angel, as while the demon was distracted by the void created in the air, the angel had vanished and reappeared before the demon, on the ground, with a new arrow of light before its palm.

KiRA spoke something in a language only the demon understood, sending chills down the demon’s ethereal dark body.

-Swiiiiiiiiiiish!

The arrow of light materialised and exploded into a new flash of light that blasted a hole in the round body of the demon!

Then, the angel’s eyes moved and met the eyes of the one who would end this night.

-Swish!

Captain Rose, receiving the angel’s signal, moved instantaneously, with all of her Aura concentrated around her unique sword.

-Zaaaaaaaa...!

Then, she landed the final blow, slicing the demon into not one or two, but several pieces with her powerful swordplay, rendering the being helpless even in its last moments.

[Ding!]

A notification window popped up before everyone present, including the natives, as they saw a new dawn break on the horizon past the forest.

The red moon had almost vanished now, and along with it, the threats that had loomed over the 3rd floor of the Tower of Cessation.

A new dawn would grow from here on out, and along with it, a new friendship between civilizations of two different worlds would bloom...
