CHAPTER 144: FAMILY REUNION

[POV: KiRA.]

It most certainly wasn’t easy to convince Izzy. The whole night was spent explaining to her how this was important to me as well as how this was not something I could let go.

Bringing her along wasn’t going to be possible since the place itself was dangerous, but then again, she knew about the Tower of Beginning.

There were certain things that players knew and needed to follow, the ’Field limitations’ being one of the most important things that they kept in mind.

"As you might already know from the guides provided by the association, after the appearance of the tower, along with the various special places like the dungeons and gates that appeared around the world, fields were also one of the ’special’ places that appeared in certain places."

Explaining and convincing Izzy was still possible after we went through a few difficulties, but now that we were back and I was sitting before our parents and explaining the same situation to them, they only had frowns on their faces.

"It doesn’t matter, Kai. You cannot convince me with words. You have just come back!" Aunt Su wanted me to stay here longer.

It hasn’t really been that long since we were here. We came back for the guild ceremony a while back, and, even though a while had passed inside the tower, here in our world, it hasn’t really been that long.

In fact, even though the quest had gone on for the longest this time, it’s not like we were gone for that long.

"Aunt Su... I know words will not work for you; that is why I’m not trying to convince you right now either." I know this aunt of mine was simply being too clingy right now.

They weren’t concerned about the fact that we had been gone for too long or the quest this time had been difficult, but the fact that I would be gone for a few more months concerned them all.

"There are personal quests in the world now. Perhaps you will receive a quest that is meant only for you to complete as well, one day.

These quests are important and related to certain crucial aspects of our unique traits. Let’s not forget the rewards that they give, either."

Sitting before me in the guild headquarters’ main meeting chamber were the four ringleaders that were operating the guild in our absence while also managing this entire base of operations while simultaneously working with the government and military for certain things... not to mention the two goddesses in front of me who had developed the first ever potions outside of the tower.

These four people were very important to the guild, and all of the guild members present in the base knew that by now.

We could tell they were in awe of their expertise and prowess, even though it had not been that long.

The ones who were trained by Uncle and Izzy’s dad were already looking promising. Sending them out in the world, I mean, on the field missions, shouldn’t take that long now.

’They were so important... so now that they were here in this meeting room, there were many ears outside of this room wanting to know just what was going on in here.’

I could already feel their curiosity with my heightened senses. They had not seen all four of them so concerned over anything... it was so obvious they were worried something big was going on in their guild right now.

’Who was gonna tell them this was a family matter that didn’t have much to do with the guild?’

It was also funny how our Vice guildmaster, Mister Phil, as well as Miss Moon, were in the lead of this bunch, trying to eavesdrop with the best of their creativity.

’We understand that it’s out of pure concern, and that is the only reason the four of them are even allowing this. Otherwise, the consequences would have been much different.’

Anyway, setting that aside, I wanted to explain to them how this was so important to me. That’s why I started with the personal quests that were individual in nature but presented great opportunities for anyone who received them.

"This is the quest I received when we finished the Floor quest on the 3rd floor."

Instead of just telling them all, I first showed them the quest I had received from the system for using the Halo skill against the dark slime.

============

[Rune of Tatar Holy Lands]

– Long ago, there existed a civilization that worshiped the God of First Light, Illuminos. This civilization, devotees of the one they considered the one and only true god, created great temples and monuments in the worship of their lord.

– The civilization devoted its truest faith to the god, and its sincerity pleased the lord they served.

– The God of First Light, possessing a unique origin not known to this devoted civilization, sent a messenger to their lands– a messenger with the wings of light and a Halo of golden flames.

– The Civilization did not have a true ruler; it was a democracy governed by the possessors of the strongest holy powers within their ranks. When the messenger descended on their lands, these Leading priests of Light stepped forward and greeted the messenger.

– They received a Divine Quest from their lord, a quest for the entire civilization to relocate to a barren land and turn it into a paradise of Light, to reconstruct the Glory of the Light from ancient times.

– Blessed with the quest, the Priests delivered the words of their lord to their people; however, leaving behind their original homes was not easy for them. They had lived there for their entire lives, and this was also their ancestral lands.

– It took them several years to prepare for the divine quest, and they left behind countless things, countless of their temples, countless items that, in today’s era, would be considered Relic Artifacts.

– The Tatar Republic relocated, and now, after countless tribulations, they govern the 29th Floor of the Tower of Cessation. However, the remains of their past, damaged and scattered across the world by the Spatial Storms, still exist.

[Objective: ]

1) Go to the Northern Desert Fields and find the Runes of the Tatar Holy democracy.

2) Find the Traces of the God of First Light, Illuminos’ messenger.

3) Pass the trial left behind by the Tatar people of the old times.

[Rewards: ]

– Revealed once the quest is completed.

============

The only reason I showed this quest window to them was simply because I wanted them to read the background story and get interested in the whole plot.

’There were runes of the people from the tower outside of the tower because of a natural phenomenon that isn’t really all that common within the tower... who wouldn’t be interested in something like this?’

The four of them were especially interested in the whole description because it had a civilization, mention of a god and an angel, and the quest had a mention of a higher floor directly.

’Truthfully, I know nothing about this civilization. They didn’t exist on the 29th floor of the Tower of Beginning. If anything, the 29th floor was a preparation zone for the 30th floor.’

But the name God of First Light, Illuminos, was a different story altogether. It was one of the names belonging to the Goddess of Light and Purity, Ezlyn... the very goddess that I reported to get my Authority.

’They don’t know about the Authority and the goddess, and it’s best to keep it that way.’

If they know those things, they might get in some unexpected trouble later on, and they wouldn’t even know why they are in those situations.

Izzy was already taking the risk, but she could handle that much. She knows things that these parents of ours do not.

This world is still pretty new to them. I’m just doing what I can to keep them away from harm’s way.

"Oho? So you will go to some super unique runes?"

"This messenger, do you know more about it?"

"I wonder what kind of beings Gods are to the natives, huh."

Uncle now seemed to be interested in tagging along, while Izzy’s father was more interested in the angel. Izzy’s mom was now wondering how the divinities were seen by the natives of the lower floor.

But my dear Aunt was still looking at me with puffed cheeks. This surely was interesting, but she still did not like the idea of me going there all by myself.

"As you know, the average levels of the creatures in that field are around (Level-30), the elites are of a higher level, and the middle-bosses must be of an even higher level.

Not considering the extreme heat and environmental conditions, the place I’d be going to is filled to the brim with traps as well."

"Which is dangerous!" Aunt Su immediately shouted when she heard those words from me.

If Izzy were a little more used to the place, bringing her along would be alright. Same for Ziggy. But when it comes to those runes, the levels and stats are almost always irrelevant.

Getting past the traps is a complicated thing in itself; if I have someone else helping me with a personal quest, the rewards will be affected by it as well.

"Yes, I accept it’s a dangerous place, but I am confident I will be back from there. It will just take a while to go there and come back."

A few months, that was all I would need. At most, four months.

This one quest and after that, a few weeks for the forgotten temple. The temple wouldn’t take that long, and if things go well in the desert, I might also get to take a few of them to the special gate with me.

’But that is for the later.’

It almost seems like the rest of them are convinced as well. They don’t seem to doubt that I will come back from that place, which is good for me.

But Aunt Su was still not convinced.

"Aunt Su... I will bring you lots of souvenirs from there if you let me go this time. Actually, you can tell me anything you want from there. How does that sound?"

"...!"

Convincing her wasn’t going to be easy in any way, but this was a good deal.

Even she could not ignore such an attractive offer.

’Those eyes were enough indications. I can lead the bargain from here on out.’
