CHAPTER 151: THE BLUE JEWELED NAGA

A snake that was just as big as the giant, three legged white crow.

The entire body of the creature was blue, almost like a sapphire. The creature stood at almost four feets, and it was as long as four tenths of the arena.

Its body coiled like a ribbon of living sapphire, every scale catching light with a liquid sheen.

Slender fins ran along its back and tail, delicate as lotus petals, though narrower than those of true sea serpents.

According to what was known about them, despite their fragility, they rippled hypnotically in the air, allowing the being to glide through the mist in dense forests as though swimming in wind.

Widely known as Sapphirenaga in the folklores of many of the tower’s cultures, this was a mystical serpent born from moonlight and the first breaths of a universe.

But its presence was anything but meek.

Its twin sapphire-blue eyes held no pupil, only the endless reflection of unseen depths. They shimmered in harmony with the jewel embedded at its brow: a glowing gem that seems to pulse with the creature’s heartbeat, casting rings of azure light across its surroundings.

The being that had just appeared before them was anything but normal. As the rest of them took in the creature’s beauty, KiRA spoke up first, looking directly at the being with a not-so-happy look on his face.

"Who might this be? And why are they here without our permission?" Even though he was looking at the snake, the question was aimed at his business partner, the white crow who wasn’t surprised by the appearance of the snake at all.

If anything, the crow seemed to have a lot that he wanted to say. But he waited for a moment.

As the dimensional crack that they had come from closed behind them, the crow looked at the snake beside him and shook his head while looking at his business partner.

{ "So... this is my senior. They are also the ones I was not able to come see you all this time." }

KiRA looked at the crow with an unhappy look, and then looked back at his family with a dejected look.

"It seems like we will be talking about some work stuff. You all can play around in the meantime or just watch us, if you’d like that. If you don’t understand anything we are talking about, can you please wait till we are done? I will answer whatever question you may have after we’re done."

Presence of a superior among the Dungeon managers meant someone who was working for the same Higher Beings as you.

For the white crow, the blue serpent must be someone they needed to work with. Or perhaps the senior was supervising the white crow because of something that might have happened.

"It’s fine, Kai. This seems like an interesting situation. You continue, we will not disturb you all."

"That’s right. You can continue."

"Don’t mind us."

"You can just think that we aren’t here anymore."

All four of them were now sitting on chairs that had appeared out of nowhere, with tea and snacks on a small table before them.

They were also writing down a few things as they glanced back and forth between their notes and the two dungeon managers.

The snake, with her hissing tongue, showed subtle curiosity towards their actions. But, her main object of curiosity was the contractor of the white crow.

-Ptssss...

{ "When this one said he contracted with a mortal, many of us simply laughed at him for being ridiculous. However, seeing myself, you surely are no ordinary human, mortal." }

The snake’s voice was melodious.

It almost felt like it was whispering to them, like some mythical snake suggesting something that should never happen.

{ "You’re strange... also, why are you carrying three level restrictors on you? Is there any reason to stay at this level?" }

It had been a while since anyone had asked him any meaningful questions. Even his own contractor did not pay attention to the strangest thing on him.

"I have my reasons. Though, I can assure you it’s not for what you might believe it is for." KiRA answered her calmly.

He looked at her the same way he was looking at his contractor, with calmness and an unnatural confidence.

The serpent looked through one’s nature as well, but her powers were different from the white crow.

She could feel great harmony from this mortal. It was as if he knew everything that was going on inside and outside of him.

This kind of harmony wasn’t achieved by just understanding one’s body and mind. He was already on the verge of mastering ’stillness’.

She could not understand how such a young mortal, one who was also restricting his level, was capable of such a feat.

{ "You speak as if you know a thing or two about a thing or two, huh?" }

She would not believe it even if he told her the truth. But the way she put it was absolutely correct.

"I sure do. If the Messenger of [@$!&] want to confirm it, I can demonstrate it right away."

KiRA did not know who the white crow worked with during their first meeting, but seeing this special being, he knew exactly who both of them were working for.

Targeting them was easier now.

{ "Hmm? How could you mistake me with a beast that serves that f... being? I am not related to those arrogant gods in any manner, mister contractor." }

Her words came as not just a surprise but a shock to KiRA.

"What? You... have no relation to [@$!&]? How could that be?"

{ "Are you delusional or something? What is this situation? And why would a dungeon manager ever tell anyone who their masters are?" }

The snake was now frustrated.

She was here to see the contractor of the new rising star that was making all kinds of unique products for the higher beings.

She thought she’d meet someone special but even though the first impression was good, she was now thinking all of that was just a ruse.

This junior of hers must have been scammed by this strange human. There was no other way to describe this situation.

"..."

But, the simple situation wasn’t really as simple as the confused crow or the frustrated blue snake could truly realise.

KiRA wasn’t just concerned about the snake’s presence here anymore.

He was debating how the internal structure among the higher beings must have changed within this tower completely...
