CHAPTER 58: THE THREE OF THEM

Blaik’s Equinox, the hybrid weapon, resembled a hand guard in its primary form.

One was white and the other was obsidian, almost black. Both of them were made nearly identical to each other.

Both of them also had a unique gem attached to them, however, that was not the core of the item.

The core was something that could not be found while looking at this item directly. Just like the unique nature of the item, the real core of the artifact was divided into the various components.

The gems that were attached to the guards were special– the white one had a dull golden gem, the item that KiRA obtained from outside of the Cathedral, from a gargoyle statue’s third eye, while the other one was something the Lime elder created with alchemy.

It was a red gem, something that did not look all that special. And overall, both of the guards were not something that one would call a legendary item.

They looked attractive, but that was all. With the low dull body and no unique presence, to any normal eyes, these items were simply just another gear.

However, that was not the case.

"It can change forms into a sword, a shield, and pretty much anything you want. As long as you can think about the shape and form, it will take that form.

You can also use strings similar to the strings of Arcanum. In addition to that, the golden gem will provide buffs to you or a designated target while the red gem will provide various debuffs.

If you use both of them together, you may produce three types of potions as well: Healing potion, Antidote for strong poisons, and a general anesthetic to numb the pain.

There is an enchanted function of protection, once a day the gauntlets will protect you from any unforeseen attack, making you immune to that particular attack.

While in their basic form, when you smash them against one another, they will produce a strong shockwave that could change the tides of a battle.

Lastly, there is a storage function within it so I can store things in it as well."

KiRA had done the testing, said his goodbyes to Lime elder who returned to his slumber, and now he was outside of the tower.

His work for the time being was done, so he was sitting with Iz and Ziggy who had just cleared the 1st floor of the tower recently.

"Wow... you got something this amazing on the first floor? How’s that even possible?" Iz was surprised.

She moved her fingers around the guards that he was still wearing even outside of the tower.

They were pretty. In her eyes, they looked pretty attractive.

She had seen countless dwarven crafts so she could tell in an instant that this item was far different from anything one might consider normal.

This item was powerful as well. Aside from the normal functions, there must be more features of them that he did not tell them about.

He wasn’t trying to hide them, it was just that this item was so unique that it could not be compared to any items that were present on the players right now– not even Ziggy’s Armament.

"So you’re doing this when we were fighting that goat? Wow... I didn’t expect it to be something this important."

Ziggy understood just how important this item was.

Armaments were one thing. Those chosen by the higher beings could easily obtain them after the 10th floor. However, this item was not something so common.

Just the function of being able to change forms made it on par with high level formless weapons. And since the core of the item was a branch of an ancient tree, the weapons that this item could turn into must also possess an unbelievable durability.

The other functions made it important as well.

"Wouldn’t the final raid be much easier with this thing? It’s practically perfect for that demoness." Ziggy observed the guards for a moment more before looking back at KiRA.

The 1st floor may have been cleared and the Clan may have been established, there was still something KiRA had not finished.

"It’s not going to be so easy, Ziggy." Shaking his head, he took out a parchment paper that resembled a map and placed it on the table.

Then he tapped on the map with a drop of his Holy power and a holographic design of the entire 1st floor projected out of it.

"...?!"

"What the hell?"

Both of them were stunned to see this.

The holographic map of the entire floor that they Iz had not even visited, the place that Ziggy had spent his last few days clearing was present before the right now.

All the monsters of the floor were marked on this map along with their movement patterns.

The map also had a record of how the boss monster, the hell goat, was defeated.

Also, in the very center of the floor, there was something they did not expect.

"Instead of the low level demoness, this one’s a (Level-30). And it’s also an enchantress."

Double tapping on the central area, just some distance away from where they had killed the hell goat, KiRA revealed something even Ziggy found shocking.

"If she’s a Level-30 enchantress demon, the chances of us winning against her decreases even further."

Demons were one of the strongest species of the Tower of Beginning and by nature, they were evil beings that all the other forces of the tower wanted to take down.

They were not only dangerous, the reason this demoness was here was also because of all the massacres that she had done on the lower floors.

"There used to be a normal demoness with fire skills though. Why is it different here?" Iz could not understand why it was different this time.

But Ziggy knew the answer to that question.

"Because it’s not the same tower. Many things here are different, including the natures of the creatures that we might have previously known about."

After his fight with the hell goat, Ziggy was surprised how the creature did not use the last resort that it had, a skill that could temporarily freeze everyone in the vicinity with its scream.

Unlike a pre-programmed creature that followed simple patterns, this goat was different. It did not care when it was burning.

Instead of resorting to the patterns that it might have followed, it just fought against them until all of its life was burned away.

"It was so different..." He mumbled looking down, remembering his experiences in that boss fight and how he almost lost all of his teammates.

He was afraid something might go wrong. Had it not been for Kai’s help, he would have lost a lot of things in that fight including his life.

But he was saved thanks to all the things he had given him.

"Looks like you’re already aware. That’s right, the tower is pretty different from what we knew. You can call it a parallel world that shares a similar past to what the other world had, but the current tower of cessation is much different than what we knew."

The tower of beginning was truly just the beginning of a hell while this seemed more like the terminal place where the hell will end.

"But still, this being is not impossible to take down." KiRA smiled at the two of his partners.

He knew how to take it down even without the Guards that he received from its late creators.

The demoness that was the hidden boss of the floor as well as the last remaining hidden piece was the being that was sealed away by the last of the dwarves that changed the structure of the floor.

The first floor right now was most certainly different in the recent past. There were things that KiRA knew were the same about that sealing place as well.

He had already tested the limits of this special map he obtained as a causal reward.

He still did not understand why he was given this, but if it was because he needed to take down the boss of the floor, then there was a good possibility that he could take it down.

"Looks like you know what to do. Nice~." Iz was happy that she would finally get to go into the tower.

And since the opponent this time will be several times more difficult than the goat that Ziggy fought, Iz was even more excited.

"That’s right. So, We should go tomorrow. How about that?"

For now, all three of them were having a cup of coffee in their base.

KiRA needed to check how the Clan work was going as well so he was going to deal with those things before going back to the tower once again.

Also, Ziggy needed to report back to A2P2 in two days so they needed to finish the raid in under a day or two... which was doable.

"The 2nd floor is going to be pretty easy comparatively." There was no complicated maze on the second floor.

Also, there was no particular boss monster on the 2nd floor.

There will be a quest for all the players and once a certain number of players finish that quest the floor to the next floor will be opened.

’It will only take time for the required number to reach so we have good enough time to explore the second floor.’

KiRA was short on money once again. He was eyeing the IX that the elders had, but he couldn’t bring himself to ask for more after they made him such a precious item.

This was more valuable than any item for the time being so he will save his money on items for the following few floors.

"Did someone say they are going back?" A dangerous voice spoke up from behind the trio and KiRA looked back with a scared expression.

"A-aunt Su?"

Iz said they were busy so he was chill, so how did she come here so soon?!

"Oh look at you~. Why do you look so pale~?"

He had to run now. He had left for the tower without them. His aunt wasn’t going to leave him if she got her hands on him.
