As soon as Adrian was escorted out of the interview room in cuffs overv in Los Angeles, Officer Tyler, already informed, stepped into the corridor, thumb already tapping his phone.

The line connected on the second ring.

"Miss Wrenford? This is Officer Tyler," his voice came steady but brisk, the quiet buzz of the terminal in the background. "Adrian Hoffman is in custody. The New York DA has authorized the release of the joint statement we discussed earlier. Before we issue it to the press, I need your consent to name you as the intended target."

Erisia, curled on her bed back in Astoria, Queens, sat up slowly. "Name me?" Her voice was groggy but calm.

"Only as the victim in the attempted homicide. No personal details—just confirmation that you were the intended target of the Brightfall plaza incident. The statement’s already been cleared by the NYPD and LAPD legal teams. With your approval, it goes public within the hour."

"...Yes," she said after a beat. "Release it."

Erisia listened silently.

"If he waives extradition," Tyler continued, "the NYPD and U.S. Marshals will escort him back to Brightfall within a few days on a secure flight. "I understand," Erisia said quietly.
