Chapter 43: Kneel and Sing “Conquer”!

Upstairs, strategies were being discussed, while downstairs, Lin Tai began his leisurely “salted fish” lifestyle.

Resting his head on Hecate’s lap, Lin Tai drifted off into a nap. It wasn’t until evening when Lin Zhentian returned home that the family of three sat down for a reunion dinner to celebrate Lin Ziyu’s return.

“Ziyu, eat more. You’ve been abroad for so long, you’ve gotten thinner,” Lin Zhentian said, placing food on Lin Ziyu’s plate. To a father, any time his son or daughter spent away meant they must have lost weight!

“Okay, Dad,” Lin Ziyu replied, her heart filled with emotion upon seeing Lin Zhentian again.

She was no longer the naive girl from her previous life. She knew she wasn’t Lin Zhentian’s biological daughter, only adopted by chance. Yet, over the years, Lin Zhentian had treated her no differently from a biological daughter, and she could feel his care and love.

After dinner, the family of three sat in the living room to chat. Mostly, it was Lin Zhentian and Lin Ziyu talking, discussing financial matters, which Lin Tai had no interest in listening to.

As they talked, the conversation turned to inheritance.

“Ziyu, since you’re back, spend a few days getting familiar with the company. In a few days, we’ll hold a banquet, and I’ll hand over the general manager position to you,” Lin Zhentian said, testing his daughter’s theoretical knowledge.

Lin Ziyu was indeed a top student, answering Lin Zhentian’s questions flawlessly, proving she was ready to take over the family business.

Holding a banquet to announce Lin Ziyu’s status as the heir would also give her a chance to network with the younger generation of heirs from other families.

In at most two years, Lin Zhentian could entrust the Lin family to her and enjoy his retirement.

“Dad, I’d like to rest for a while,” Lin Ziyu replied, rejecting the idea without hesitation. Her top priority now was protecting her brother, who was in great danger.

“Alright, take a rest then. Your old man can hold on a bit longer.”

“Dad, I think it’s best for Lin Ziyu to take over the company now,” Lin Tai, who had been engrossed in watching TV, suddenly spoke up.

He didn’t care about much else, but Lin Ziyu had to join the company!

Her character was supposed to focus on advancing her career, inheriting the Lin family, and then falling in love with Ye Bai for a harmonious happy ending.

Now, Lin Ziyu showing no ambition for her career? That wouldn’t do.

If the female lead’s character collapsed, Lin Tai wouldn’t allow it.

“Can’t you let your sister rest a bit?” Lin Zhentian rarely heard Lin Tai speak up and didn’t argue with him.

“Dad, every other family is training their next-generation heirs, but our Lin family hasn’t started. If Ziyu rests now, she might get bullied by those old foxes in the future. So, I think it’s better for her to join the company soon.”

“Brother, since you know other families are training their heirs, why don’t you want to inherit the company yourself?” Lin Ziyu looked at Lin Tai with gratitude in her eyes.

Her brother was just that kind of foolish person. In other families, people fought to be the heir.

But Lin Tai? Despite being so outstanding, he willingly let himself be seen as a fool by the outside world to help her inherit the family business.
