Transmigrated as My Aunt in the 70s
Chapter 189 - 181: Treasure
CHAPTER 189: CHAPTER 181: TREASURE
The Yang Family had no idea that Tian Xinhua had pulled such a stunt last night. It wasn’t until they received a call from the Yun Mansion that they realized he was indeed not at home, and they didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry.
"Xue Wen, that boy Xinhua sure has grand ideas. No wonder he kept asking about the Yun Mansion last night," Yang Wenbin wasn’t angry, but rather had a bit of admiration.
"Xinhua and Ah Nan are very close. He probably went to the Yun Mansion because he was worried about her. Thankfully, nothing bad happened. Otherwise, how would I explain to the Tian Family?"
He Xuewen secretly rejoiced. He had heard of Luo Datou’s deeds in the past; others would not blink an eye when killing, but that man took joy in it. It was pure luck that Xinhua could sneak into the Yun Mansion unharmed.
"How on earth did Xinhua manage to get out last night? How come the guards knew nothing about it? These sentries are getting more and more lax, not even noticing a kid slipping out!"
Mr. Yang, fuming with anger and puffing up his beard, thought it disgraceful that even a child could not be kept under the watchful eye of the heavily guarded military region compound.
"Just calm down! We’ve finally had a few peaceful days, don’t stir up trouble! Besides, you no longer hold that position, why are you so concerned about it!" Xiang Yingchun gave her husband a blank look, speaking irritably.
"Uncle Yang, don’t blame the sentries for being irresponsible. To be honest, their skills are probably not as good as Xinhua’s. You might not know, but Xinhua is a genuine successor of Baji Fist. According to his great-grandpa Tian Liu Jin, this boy can take down more than twenty grown men without breaking a sweat."
He Xuewen’s words indeed piqued Mr. Yang’s interest. Although he was a scholar-general and not skilled in martial arts, he certainly knew of Baji Fist. In the past, Baji Fist’s Li Shuwen was an unrivaled master, his reputation unmatched!
It was unexpected that the seemingly docile Tian Xinhua had such skills, truly a case of not judging a book by its cover! But thinking of Tian Liu Jin’s fearless fighting style from years past, Mr. Yang wasn’t surprised either.
"Daddy, I’m also very capable, hmph, last night Xinhua just got ahead of me. Tonight, I’ll slip out too, and I guarantee those sentries won’t even know." He Chengsi said unconvinced.
Mr. Yang was fond of the burly He Chengsi, and although he wanted to see the boy’s abilities, he still shook his head, "Last night was probably due to Xinhua’s luck. If the sentries discover you, one shot and it could be extremely dangerous. Don’t try it, Chengsi. Your daddy and Sisi would worry."
He Xuewen, upon hearing that sentries might really shoot, immediately broke out into a cold sweat, sternly warning He Chengsi to dismiss the thought, only then did he feel relieved. However, he planned to speak seriously with Tian Xinhua later, to make sure he wouldn’t do something so dangerous again!
Tian Sisi got a fright when Tian Xinhua suddenly appeared first thing in the morning, but then she thought that Brother Hua must have slipped over because he was worried about her and she looked at Tian Xinhua with red, touched eyes!
Seeing Ah Nan’s rosy cheeks and her refreshed appearance, Tian Xinhua knew the girl had slept quite well, and he let go of the worry he had all night. However, he was speechless at her carefree attitude; here he was worrying himself sick, while she had been sleeping soundly!
The breakfast at the Yun Mansion was very rich, with century egg and lean pork congee, dumplings with vegetable and mushroom, and meat fillings, all smelling delicious and making Tian Sisi’s mouth water nonstop, her stomach growling loudly. Her appetite was now much better than before, easily more than double her usual food intake.
Niu Erniu first served Mr. Yun some porridge, then served Tian Sisi. After Tian Sisi took a sip of the porridge, she squinted her eyes contentedly, "Grandpa Yun, you are really fortunate, being able to eat so many delicious foods every day!"
"Eating well is not difficult at all. If you lived at my place, whatever you wanted to eat would be available, and the menu would change every day!" Mr. Yun teased her.
"I would love that, but I still need to go back and take care of my grandpa and grandma. Alas, you can’t have the best of both worlds. I might as well eat as much as I can while I’m staying with you."
Tian Sisi spoke earnestly, imitating an adult, which amused Mr. Yun and made him chuckle, "Then you should eat more, as there may not be another opportunity like this."
Tian Sisi nodded solemnly and took a big bite from the meat bun in her hand, gobbling up nearly half of it in one go. The meat buns made by Niu Erniu were rich but not greasy, exactly to Tian Sisi’s taste.
"Brother Xin Hua, these meat buns are so delicious, much better than the ones in our town!" Tian Sisi was immediately captivated by Niu Erniu’s buns and didn’t forget to share them with Tian Xinhua. The two kids started to eat them with big bites.
Mr. Yun watched the little girl and Tian Xinhua devouring their food wolfishly, and wondered to himself if the meat buns could really be that tasty. He decided to pick up one himself and start eating. Perhaps it was the lively atmosphere, but even he found the meat buns quite delicious, not greasy like before. He ended up eating two buns and drinking a bowl of porridge, which delighted Luo Datou and Niu Erniu.
"Grandpa Yun, you eat too little! I even eat more than you do! Maybe you should also try getting acupuncture; my appetite improved a lot after that." Tian Sisi teased, pretending to make a joke.
Mr. Yun, not knowing what the acupuncture meant, looked at Tian Xinhua in confusion. Tian Xinhua held back his laughter and explained how Tian Sisi had acupuncture for her indigestion while in Shanghai, which made Luo Datou burst into hearty laughter.
"What do you, a little kid, know? That indigestion problem only happens to children, and our Mr. Yun is an elderly man. If he still had such a problem, it would be ridiculous!"
Of course, Tian Sisi knew that adults don’t get indigestion like children do. She was just playing the clown to make everyone happy. When you’re in a good mood, your appetite improves, and with a good appetite, your health gets better. The Tian Family still needed Mr. Yun’s protection after all! Besides, she quite liked Mr. Yun and didn’t want to see him in poor health.
Tian Sisi gave Luo Datou, who was still laughing, a look which said: Laugh, laugh, laugh, you can’t appreciate my good intentions at all!
Luo Datou didn’t take offense with the little girl and seeing that Mr. Yun did indeed start eating a meat-filled bun, he felt nothing but gratitude towards Tian Sisi. He and his wife had tried everything to get Mr. Yun to eat more over the years, and none of their efforts were as effective as a simple phrase from this little girl!
Thinking about this, Luo Datou looked at Tian Sisi as if she radiated light, as if she were some precious treasure. At that moment, in Luo Datou’s heart, Tian Sisi indeed was a treasure, even more valuable than the gold in his storeroom!
Before breakfast was over, He Xuewen arrived, bringing He Chengsi along, as well as bringing a change of clothes for Tian Sisi and Tian Xinhua.
Tian Sisi, seeing He Xuewen, happily rushed over to him. The father and daughter affectionately embraced one another, while Mr. Yun smiled and gestured for them to sit down and join the breakfast. He Xuewen politely declined, indicating that he had already had breakfast at the Yang Family before coming over.
