Transmigrated as My Aunt in the 70s
Chapter 667 - 660: Murder Case
CHAPTER 667: CHAPTER 660: MURDER CASE
The next day, Sisi took the three little ones back to the Capital City. After settling them in, she returned once again to T City. By then, it was already Friday, and the following day was Mo Liu’s art exhibition.
Sisi’s car was parked at G City airport. As she was getting into the car with her luggage, an older lady by the roadside was peddling a stack of newspapers.
"Two murders in three days! Three dead, all northern merchants. Want to know the thrilling details? Get your G City Urban Newspaper now!"
Sisi’s curiosity was piqued. She fished out fifty cents to buy a newspaper and opened it in the car to find the murder case the lady mentioned.
The report on the murder case was on the second page, taking up a lot of space. Sisi read it carefully, feeling a strange sensation in her mind.
The report didn’t outright say that all three were murdered, only that their deaths were suspicious. The sales pitch from that lady was likely just to attract attention.
All three were northern merchants; two were business partners, and one was a lone traveler. The lone traveler died on the night of July 4th. After a business meeting and drinking too much, he stumbled and fell into the lotus pond in G City’s street heart park and drowned.
The other two died at midnight on July 5th. They were found in a small alley in G City, naked with their bodies covered in wounds. The coroner determined that they died from massive internal bleeding due to gang beating.
Interestingly, that alleyway is located in front of G City’s famous red-light district. According to people in the red-light district, these two merchants were regulars there, which led to rumors that they died in a love triangle, possibly involving a dispute over a woman with a local gang leader, ultimately leading to their foreign deaths.
Sisi closed the newspaper, exhaling a long breath. She was less concerned about the lone traveler but found the deaths of the two suspected of disputing with a gang leader peculiar. Being regulars in the red-light district, how could they not understand the rules and taboos there?
What’s more, business people are adept at adapting to situations. Why would they knowingly court death?
To put it bluntly, it’s just about visiting sex workers. There are plenty to choose from, so why fixate on just one?
Furthermore, Sisi couldn’t help but associate these two with the two northern men involved with Tanaka Spring Breeze by the seaside last weekend.
Both are northern, both are business partners, and both have the same peculiar fetish. Too many similarities.
Unfortunately, the newspaper didn’t have pictures of the deceased. Otherwise, she could have confirmed if it was indeed them.
By the time Sisi returned to T City, it was already late afternoon. Xiao Zheng said that Tian Xinhua was still in a meeting and would return later. Sisi took some ingredients out from Space and prepared three dishes and a soup.
After Sisi had taken a shower, Tian Xinhua still hadn’t returned. Thinking about her son in G City and Mao Dou, she dialed Zhong Anmei’s house, where Du Du and the rest were staying.
It was Zhong Anmei who answered. Upon hearing Sisi’s voice, she exclaimed in surprise, "Where have you been these past two days? I’ve called you over ten times but couldn’t reach you."
"I went to the Capital City to handle some matters. Just arrived in T City. Did you need me for something?" Sisi asked.
"Nothing particularly urgent. It’s just that G City has had two consecutive cases in recent days that sound quite terrifying."
"I just read the newspaper. It said one dead from drinking too much and falling into the water, and the other two were in a scuffle over a woman and beaten to death." Sisi was amused to hear that this was what Zhong Anmei was calling her about.
"So you’ve read the newspaper too, huh!" Zhong Anmei laughed and then asked mysteriously, "Do you know who those two people beaten to death were?"
Sisi blurted, "Could it be the two guys messing with that R-country woman by the seaside last weekend?"
"Oh my, Sisi, what kind of brain do you have? How did you guess it? There weren’t even any photos in the newspaper!" Zhong Anmei was both shocked and impressed.
"I was just casually saying it, didn’t expect to hit the mark. By the way, how did you know it was those two?" Sisi was internally stunned but still spoke casually.
After expressing some astonishment, Zhong Anmei continued, "Ah Qing has a war buddy at the police station. Now he’s the deputy director in charge of criminal investigation. He mentioned it while eating at my house, and Ah Qing guessed it was the two from the seaside, and it turned out to be true after seeing the photos."
"Sisi, you have no idea. When I heard it was those two dead, I was scared sleepless for two days! They were living people just days ago, now they’re ghosts. The thought of it is terrifying." Zhong Anmei still felt frightened.
"What’s there to be afraid of? If living people aren’t scary, then dead ones are even less so." Sisi chuckled lightly and teased, "If you’re really so scared, just let your husband comfort you more at home. Surely, Shangguan Qing would be more than happy to oblige."
Zhong Anmei uttered a few playful rebukes. Sisi noticed Tian Xinhua had come home, so she said a few more words to Du Du and the rest and then hung up the phone.
"Who are you chatting with that’s making you so happy?" Tian Xinhua came over and kissed his lovely wife, only to receive a playful shove from Sisi.
"You’re all sweaty, hurry and take a shower and eat."
Tian Xinhua took a playful nibble on Sisi’s cheek before going for a shower, looking content. Meanwhile, Sisi brought out the dishes and served the meal.
Just as she finished, Tian Xinhua came out with dripping wet hair, wrapped in a large towel around his waist.
"How did you shower so fast? Didn’t you just rinse off the soap? And why don’t you ever remember to dry your hair properly? You’ll regret it when you catch a chill!"
Sisi muttered non-stop, pulling the towel from around Tian Xinhua’s waist to tiptoe and dry his hair, though Tian Xinhua was now naked.
"Shameless!"
After drying his hair, Sisi noticed Tian Xinhua’s mischievous grin and, glancing down, saw little Tian Xinhua saluting, so she deliberately flicked it with her finger.
Tian Xinhua hugged Sisi, whispering in her ear, "I think you should feed me down here first."
Sisi struggled out of his grasp, pouting and whining, "No, I’m so hungry, no energy to play with you. The food on the plane was terrible; I haven’t eaten for two meals."
Tian Xinhua had no choice but to let Sisi go. He couldn’t bear his wife being hungry, so he had to let his little brother down for now. Once his wife was full, he could enjoy a feast tonight!
The more Tian Xinhua thought about it, the happier he became, diligently peeling shrimp for Sisi with attentive service.
Sisi was indeed very hungry. After a bowl of soup and half a bowl of rice, she finally regained her strength. Remembering what Zhong Anmei had mentioned earlier, she quickly took the newspaper out from her bag and turned to the murder case page to show Tian Xinhua.
"Take a look and tell me what you think?"
Tian Xinhua, knowing Sisi wouldn’t bring something up without reason, carefully read through the entire report and fell into a thoughtful silence.
After a few minutes, he confidently said, "The people who died in the alley should be the two messing around with Tanaka Baihui by the seaside last weekend."
Sisi’s eyes widened in shock. What kind of brain does this man have? He figured it out without any hints?
