Transmigrated as the fake young master, I'll beat up the scumbags and b*tches
Vol. 1 - Chapter 395 - Public Enemy of the City
When the cleanup crew disembarked from the helicopter, they couldn’t help but flinch at the sight before them.
Corpses lay scattered across the ground like a mass grave, blood pooling in thick rivulets that flowed along the muddy terrain like crimson rivers.
They exchanged wary glances, hands instinctively drifting toward the pistols at their waists.
And at the center of it all, a man sat casually atop a tree root, sipping from a bottle of water.
He didn’t even bother to look up when they approached.
“You’re early. I thought you’d take longer.”
“What about the others? Is it just you?”
“They’re right in front of you, aren’t they?”
HuMing’s calm voice sent a chill down both men’s spines.
They scrutinized him carefully—but no matter how hard they looked, they couldn’t find anything unusual about him.
He looked just like any other ordinary person.
And yet it was this “ordinary” man who had wiped out every single experimental subject.
They were supposed to have had more samples.
“You killed all of them? What’s the point of that?”
“They turned on each other. I just helped you clear out the garbage.”
HuMing’s tone was steady, but his words carried a coldness that made his capability impossible to ignore.
[This one is an ideal specimen!]
Their eyes met again, and both saw the same thought mirrored in the other’s gaze.
One of them stepped forward, offering HuMing a smile and extending his hand.
“Welcome.”
…
Inside the helicopter, Zero sat listening to the report coming through his earpiece.
He had considered the possibility that HuMing might find a way to sneak into the organization, but he had clearly underestimated HuMing’s efficiency.
Leaning back in his seat, Zero gazed lazily out the window at the town below.
But that languid expression quickly sharpened, as though ready to erase something from the world entirely.
“Sir Zero, the master is requesting your attention.”
The pilot spoke with reverence—clearly, Zero held significant authority among them.
The comms channel shifted, and a familiar voice filtered through his headset.
“Zero, how did it go?”
“Sir, everything has been arranged. All that’s left is for HuMing to walk into the trap himself.”
“You know I’ve always had faith in you.”
The voice on the other end betrayed no emotion, which Zero knew was his usual tone.
Zero lightly tapped his fingers against the windowpane, his eyes revealing nothing.
“So what now? Are we just going to sit here and do nothing?”
“There’s no need to do anything. All we have to do is wait for the storm to come. And when it does, HuMing will see everything.”
There was a hint of delight in the voice when HuMing’s name was mentioned.
To him, HuMing was more important than anything.
So much so, in fact, that he’d abandoned his previous plan to destroy the Gu family for HuMing’s sake.
In a sense, this man could only be described as HuMing’s most fanatical devotee.
And to be fair—he wasn’t wrong.
The end truly was drawing near.
But when it came… who would be the real victor?
Zero’s lips curled into a faint smile.
…
HuMing never expected Francis’s base of operations to be hidden in a thriving metropolis.
What puzzled him more was that he had no prior information on this city.
It was hard to believe a place like this even existed on Earth.
It reminded him of the lawless village run by ChaChai back then—a place beyond the reach of any authority.
Even after ChaChaii died, nothing really changed. Life there went on just as before. People like that would never escape that pit.
When one ChaChai dies, another takes his place.
HuMing stepped into a nearby bubble tea shop and ordered a milkshake, then leaned against a tree and scrolled through his phone like any normal young man.
But he quickly realized something was off—he couldn’t connect to the internet at all.
It was like this city was isolated from the outside world.
“Hi, your milkshake’s ready!”
The female cashier set it on the counter and gestured for him to scan the QR code.
HuMing glanced at his phone, frowning.
“Ah, sorry—no signal. My friend’s coming to pick me up soon. Can I have them pay for it later?”
The girl’s expression flickered with hesitation, but then she smiled professionally.
“Don’t worry about it. This one’s on me.”
HuMing was genuinely surprised. There didn’t seem to be any ill intent behind her gesture.
It was a rare moment of warmth for someone living in constant vigilance.
He took the milkshake and nodded politely in thanks.
Later, he sat on a park bench, quietly watching people go by.
The two men who’d dropped him off had told him to wait here for the contact.
“Been waiting long?”
Zero’s voice came from behind.
It hadn’t even been a day since they last saw each other, but this time, they were meeting right under Francis’s nose.
HuMing tossed the rest of his milkshake into a trash can and stood to follow Zero.
“You’re the one picking me up? Guess Francis really values me, huh?”
“It wasn’t supposed to be me. The others had their own assignments… but things changed.”
Zero chuckled. He seemed to be in a good mood.
And HuMing instantly understood the subtext.
His brow lifted. His tone carried a note of humor.
“Because I eliminated them all?”
“Exactly. Trash should be thrown out. You were the only one left—the pearl. Whether you actually are or not.”
“So this is the best you could find… to come after me?”
“HuMing, you’re a monster.”
Zero said it sincerely—even if it wasn’t exactly a compliment.
HuMing agreed without hesitation.
The only thing that could kill him now… was the unexpected.
Zero led him to a building across from the park.
Above the door, in English, was written: “Domestic Services Company.”
HuMing turned to look at Zero, who pulled out an ID from his pocket and placed it in HuMing’s hand.
“This is your badge. From here on out, the path is yours alone.”
Zero gripped his hand.
“And you?”
“Me? I may be the number two here, but without permission, I can’t get close to him either.”
He gave HuMing a push, then turned and walked away.
HuMing watched his back retreat.
Then Zero left him with a final sentence—
“Good luck.”
HuMing looked down at the ID.
It showed his disguised face—identifying him as a new employee of this so-called cleaning company.
He opened the door and stepped inside.
Waiting near the elevator was a tall, muscular man in a suit.
As HuMing entered, the man stood and held out his hand.
“Please present your credentials.”
Without missing a beat, HuMing handed over the ID.
The man scanned it through a reader next to the elevator.
A camera lens activated, slowly analyzing the data.
And then—an unexpected result.
“Access Denied.”
An urgent alarm blared from the speaker overhead.
The man’s pupils constricted.
He began to turn, reaching for the gun at his waist—
But the gunshot came first.
Eyes wide, the man slumped lifelessly to the floor.
At the same moment, the same alarm echoed throughout the city.
Behind HuMing, the elevator plummeted downward. It didn’t take a genius to guess who was coming.
Outside, people were rapidly fleeing the area—as if something terrible was about to happen.
“Well… this just turned into a disaster.”
And just like that, in a matter of seconds—
HuMing became public enemy number one in this entire city.
