CHAPTER 293: CHAPTER 292: POOL PARTY 3

"Wow, I didn’t expect you to actually have a boyfriend. Since he’s your boyfriend, why not let him do what he wants? It’s rare to have a party like this, so you should relax more," Aunt Cana said as she looked at Zam and Camille.

After what Aunt Cana said, Zam clearly wanted to say something, but Camille beat him to it.

"Auntie, you are absolutely right. But he just doesn’t want to," Camille said, as if he had been greatly wronged.

"I haven’t heard of Zam being in a relationship before, so he’s probably just a bit shy. By the way, what’s your name?"

"I’m sorry, Auntie, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Camille, and I just arrived at the North Base a week ago."

"I see. Nice to meet you again, Camille," Aunt Cana said, then smiled teasingly. "I’ll go and see the others first so I won’t disturb your time together. I also brought some cookies—you can try them later if you have time."

Afterwards, Aunt Cana turned and walked away, leaving Zam unable to defend himself or explain that he and Camille weren’t in a relationship at all.

Camille obviously wanted to touch Zam’s abdominal muscles. Unfortunately, Zam didn’t allow it anymore, so Camille could only sit beside Zam.

Luciel knew that he didn’t have anything to watch any longer, so he didn’t bother looking at them any longer and just greeted Aunt Cana, who was walking towards him.

"Aunt Cana, it’s nice to see you here. I’m glad you arrived early," Luciel said with a smile.

"I wasn’t that busy to begin with, so when you invited me, I wrapped things up and came right over. I didn’t expect to see such a lively scene even in times like this.

This place looks even more beautiful with all the blooming flowers and ribbons around," Aunt Cana said as she looked around.

"Since everyone agreed to have a pool party, they really put effort into the details and made everything more vibrant. Aunt, you should just relax and enjoy yourself today. You’ve been working hard all the time, so you deserve a proper break."

Aunt Cana already had capable people around her who were working hard for the base.

She actually doesn’t need to go out to work, but she still goes out to help every day.

"I’ve been able to relax more these days, especially while teaching the kids how to draw and paint every afternoon. But this place... it’s definitely more lively than anything I’ve seen in a long time. I never thought I’d be attending a pool party again after the zombies appeared," Aunt Cana said with a smile.

"You’re really good at finding ways to enjoy life and helping others enjoy it too."

"It’s true that things outside are still terrible," Luciel replied with a chuckle, "but since we’re alive, we should enjoy what we can.

We have the pools, water ability users, and plenty of food and drinks.

If we have everything we need to enjoy ourselves, then why not take the time to do so—at least once in a while?"

They already worked hard to have the right conditions to enjoy things for a bit, so they should do so.

The others had trained hard to improve their abilities; that’s why they could easily arrange the backyard to have a very nice atmosphere.

They also worked hard to collect a lot of supplies when they were outside so they already had enough supplies to last for a long time.

They couldn’t even use all their supplies for a short time, so it’s better to use them while they could.

At least even if they suddenly died accidentally, then they won’t have too many regrets for not enjoying their time while they could.

They weren’t having a party every day, so it wouldn’t even delay the others in their training.

"Yes, indeed. Having time to relax and have fun is indeed nice," Aunt Cana said in agreement and then asked, "By the way, what did the others in the family say? Do they also have time to come?"

"Yang also sent them messages a while ago, and they all said that they could come after work."

"That’s good. They’ve been working non-stop, and even on their days off, they haven’t really been resting. They should definitely come and take the time to have some fun and relax."

"I won’t disturb your swimming. I’ll go and play with the kids for a while. By the way, I brought some cookies I baked yesterday. Would you like to try some?"

"I’ll stay in the water first. I’ll definitely have some cookies later," Luciel replied.

"Alright, then I’ll go check on the kids first," Aunt Cana said, walking to the nearest table to set down the cookies she had been holding. Then she headed over to the other pool where the kids were playing.

After Aunt Cana went to the other pool, Luciel still stayed in the pool while relaxedly staying afloat.

Luciel only left the pool when he finally felt a little hungry.

As soon as he left the pool, Luciel looked around for something to eat. His eyes immediately landed on Richard and Yang, who were grilling skewers of meat and vegetables.

"Do you want some?" Richard asked as soon as he saw him.

"Yeah, I’ll have some. Do you already have any grilled ones ready?"

"No, the others already took the earlier batch. Just wait a bit—this one’s almost done," Richard said while turning over the skewers.

"Alright. I’ll go grab a few more dishes while I wait," Luciel replied, then walked over to the other table that had a variety of food.

He didn’t think much about it and started with some pizza and cheesy macaroni. He already started eating while waiting for the grilled skewers.

When he finished eating the pizza and cheesy macaroni, the grilled skewers were finally ready.

He took half of what they had grilled and enjoyed eating it while watching the others having fun.

After eating, Luciel just stayed at the side and just watched those who had finished resting after eating go to the pool to swim or just play around.

Luciel was still too full to go into the water again, so he just went to get his tablet and started taking photos of everyone around.

The others were also taking photos from time to time, and Luciel also wanted to take some on his own.

Afterwards, Luciel just relaxedly played games on his phone with the sounds of others enjoying themselves as background noise.

After leveling up his character in the game 3 times, Luciel put down his phone and went to the pool again.

The others also started arriving when it was nearly 4 pm. The first ones to arrive were Calvin, Uncle Lawrence, and Jasmine.

Apparently, they had just finished one of their projects a few days ago, so they weren’t too busy yet.

Since they were still considering which project to focus on next, they were willing to attend the party when invited and even arrived a bit earlier, as they didn’t need to work overtime at all.

When they arrived, Luciel talked to them a bit more because he hadn’t seen them for a long time.

Calvin and Jasmine, whom he hadn’t seen in a long time, had noticeable dark circles under their eyes. It was clear they had been working overtime for quite a while.

However, their eyes still looked bright, showing that despite their exhaustion, they were clearly satisfied with their work.

Luciel didn’t ask about what they had researched, but the two still shared some details of what they had been doing at the research center.

As for Uncle Lawrence, it seemed that he was already hungry, so after greeting him, he already went to where the food was and started picking something he wanted to eat.

After they came, the next people who came were Nathan’s parents and sister.

When they came, Luciel immediately looked at them because he hadn’t seen them yet.

When he saw them, Luciel could clearly see that Nathan’s appearance was more likely from his father.

However, Nathan’s father had a calm air around him, unlike Nathan, who had a playful air around him. As for his mother, she was also very calm and gentle.

As for Nathan’s sister, she was obviously a beauty but with a cold personality.

"You are Luciel, right? Thank you for taking care of my sons and even taking care of my grandson."

"No need to thank me; they’re already doing their best for the team, so of course they’re all taken care of."

Nathan, who still had the energy to swim even after playing with the kids and others for a long time, immediately called out when he saw his family, "Mom, Dad, Sister, over here!"

When Nathan’s family saw him, they said goodbye to Luciel and walked over to where Nathan was.

After Nathan’s family, Treyton’s cousins also began to arrive one after another.
