CHAPTER 110: CHAPTER 110: LOVE TOWER

They were forced to have a secret wedding because both families didn’t approve of their union. Matthias was still curious as to why Victoria’s family didn’t want them to marry. After all, wouldn’t it have been more beneficial for him to be part of the parasitic family so he could provide some funds for it? Due to his previous cruelty to the family, he was now not welcomed as a good son-in-law. It didn’t matter to him; as long as Victoria agreed to register their marriage secretly, he was happy enough. It could be concluded that they were now legally husband and wife. There was no need for an extravagant wedding.

After registering their marriage, Matthias took his wife on a date to a location that had gone viral on social media. This spot is often visited by couples to cement their love for life. Originally, this location was supposed to be out of town, so they had to travel for several days while also going on vacation.

Matthias took his wife to a tower filled with padlocks with small notes tucked inside. The notes reflected the couple’s feelings and longings. Matthias and Victoria also wrote down their thoughts and wishes, then placed them inside a heart-shaped padlock. Matthias chose a strategic location to prevent anyone from finding the padlock. It was located quite high up, requiring a ladder to reach it.

"Well, if it’s here, no one can find our padlock."

Victoria laughed gracefully, wrapping her arms around her husband’s stomach from behind. "Matty, do you really believe that myth? Didn’t you say you wouldn’t easily believe myths?"

"Whether it’s just a myth or not, I want to believe it because I want our love to last. Even if everyone doesn’t approve of our marriage, my love for you will never fade. I want to remain your husband."

"Matthias..."

"Besides, I already wrote down my wish. That’s why I deliberately kept the padlock in a place that was hard for anyone to find so that it wouldn’t be easily lost or destroyed."

"What is your wish? I’m very curious, you seem to have a lot of wishes."

Matthias smiled shyly, gripping his wife’s hands tightly. "Even though there are many walls between us, I still love you. If something unexpected happens to you and me, I hope you’ll still remember my name. I don’t want you to let another man’s name occupy your heart."

Victoria also smiled happily as she kissed her husband’s cheek. "Of course, I will always remember you. Whether you or I experience something unexpected, the first thing I remember is your name. Because you are the only man I truly love."

Matthias held out his little finger. "You must promise me that you will never leave me. If you experience a disaster that causes our relationship to break apart, you will come back to me."

Victoria nodded, intertwining her pinky with her husband’s. "Of course, because I have nowhere else to go. My only reason for surviving is because of you."

Matthias and Victoria held each other tightly as they gazed at the tower’s beauty, adorned with twinkling lights. They fervently hoped their wedding would go smoothly, even though they already knew they would face many obstacles.

"This tower is so beautiful," said Victoria in awe.

"It’s perfect for you who like stargazing." Matthias kissed his wife’s cheek repeatedly.

Victoria laughed happily, slowly stroking her husband’s head. "Where are you planning to run to if our relationship gets exposed?"

"I’m planning to take you to a country with beautiful ocean views. Especially since you and I both love swimming, I want to find a suitable place to swim and enjoy the refreshing blue ocean views."

"What about office work?"

"I can sacrifice everything to live happily with you. I am willing to sacrifice everything to be with you. Because what’s the point of having everything if I can’t live happily."

Back to the present, Victoria was visiting the tower alone. Until now, Victoria hadn’t realized her husband had been following her for several days. All she could think about was missing him terribly. It had been a long time since they’d spent time together. For several days, she’d been reading his text messages. Every time she read them, she longed to call him directly. She missed hearing his gentle voice, which would soothe her troubled mind.

Victoria climbed the stairs, one by one, searching for the padlock her husband had hidden two years ago. Now that her memory had returned, she could find it without having to search through them all. Her footsteps suddenly stopped when she found a pink padlock with her and her husband’s names written on it. Tears welled up in her eyes as she felt the special lock. She felt like reading all of her husband’s wishes, but he had already thrown the key into the fountain.

"Matthias, I managed to find the padlock. Your wish has finally come true. I remember everything now. I’m sorry I remembered so late. I’ve been so sinful for forgetting you, even though I was so enthusiastic about being your wife. I miss your voice, your laugh, your smile, your body, your lips, and so much more. How stupid of me to forget all the beautiful memories we’ve created and want to marry another man. Even though I had an accident, I should still remember you."

For a moment, Victoria wiped away her tears using a handkerchief while gazing at the beautiful tower decoration lit by small lights surrounding the love locks.

"I’ve had enough of finding all the answers. Now I’m at a loss for what to do. I don’t know where to go. I was so selfless before, abandoning you and everyone close to me. Now I feel so lonely without you. I miss you so much, Matthias. I’m sorry for hating you and thinking our marriage was a forced one. I want to come home with you. I can’t stand being alone without you."

Suddenly she felt her body suddenly warm because someone was putting a suit on her, plus the loving hug that someone gave her made her heart flutter.
