Victoria quickly kicked her best friend’s leg. "Can you stop being such a nag?"

Sawyer nodded. "That’s right. He almost cried when he confided in me."

Matthias’s face immediately turned sullen. He didn’t hesitate to kick his friend’s leg repeatedly. "Could you please not tell my wife about that embarrassing incident?"

Victoria felt even more guilty for leaving her husband without telling him. She immediately hugged him tightly.

"I’m sorry, Matthias. I won’t leave you again."

"I won’t be mad either because I know you need time and space alone."

Sawyer rested his chin on his hand. "Speaking of which, does your mother really approve of your relationship? I still find it really awkward."

"I don’t know. I haven’t been in touch with my mom lately because I’ve been busy on vacation with my wife."

"Matthias, as your best friend, here’s my advice. You should clear up this misunderstanding first. Your mother still harbors a grudge against your wife’s family."

"If my mother no longer approves of our relationship, I won’t just sit there. I’d rather resign, sacrifice everything, and run away with my wife and settle somewhere they can’t find."

"I won’t let that happen." Matthias gripped his beloved wife’s hand tightly. "I will protect her for the rest of my life."

A pair of friends could only envy Matthias’s words which were too sweet that it made their hearts flutter too.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s cheeks flushed red at her husband’s blatant flirting in front of her friend. She could only slowly stroke his hand.

After meeting all their closest friends, Matthias didn’t want to let his wife go out for too long. They spent time together at their luxurious residence watching romantic movies in a private cinema. Now Matthias didn’t hesitate to watch romantic movies with his wife because they were so in love, why act awkward like before?

"I’m more likely not used to watching romantic movies with you. You’ve rarely invited me to watch them with you."

"Because I was still annoyed with you back then. Besides, I’ve been asking you to watch movies with me a lot lately."

Matthias looked away nervously as he fed his wife a brownie. "Then, could you please not take a bite of the brownie?"

Victoria blinked nervously, her mouth still biting into the brownie. "What’s wrong?"

Although Matthias had seemed awkward before, he now attacked his wife’s lips without hesitation. He bit into the brownie and then deliciously devoured her lips. His aggressiveness left their lips covered in chocolate cream.

Victoria felt a little awkward because, as time went on, her husband kept kissing her at inappropriate times. However, she kept laughing at his smudged lips until her face turned red.

"Matthias, your lips are all smeared now. You look like a child."

"Your lips too." Matthias moved his lips closer to his wife’s red ones. "Would you like me to clean them for you?"

Suddenly, a text message notification from Chris appeared. Victoria quickly opened her phone and watched a video commercial edited by Chris’s team to perfection. The video, which showed their affection, made her heart race.

"Wow, I never thought Chris’ team would share this video on social media!" Matthias exclaimed in amazement.

"But will it be okay? Surely many people will hate us even more."
