CHAPTER 96: CHAPTER 96: HIDDEN INTENTIONS

Ultimately, the two women decided to move to one of the cafes in the shopping center. Fransisca had previously told her friend that she had urgent business to attend to, prompting her to leave the boutique in a hurry. In reality, the business she was about to undertake was nefarious. Meeting Amber indirectly was a stroke of luck, as she felt she and Amber were in the same boat.

Amber still felt awkward meeting her enemy’s younger brother in person. Was this meeting just to warn her? She was fed up with everyone’s disapproval of her, even though she had always been known for her wisdom. Just because Matthias attacked her on social media, she was now starting to be hated.

"By the way, what did you want to talk to me about?" Amber asked gracefully as she took a sip of her coffee latte.

"Now I want to ask you. Do you really like Matthias?"

Amber laughed irritably, ruffling her hair. "If you’re going to provoke me just because Matthias likes your sister, I’m not speaking to you anymore."

Fransisca folded her arms and crossed her legs. "Do I look stupid letting them be together?"

Amber’s brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"

Now these two evil women were exchanging sly glances at each other. Deep down, Amber, who had initially wanted to avoid Fransisca, now wanted to approach her as a means of destroying the relationship between her best friend and her enemy.

Meanwhile, Fransisca hopes Amber can destroy the relationship between her sister and his sister-in-law so she can marry him. Her real goal isn’t just to bring down her sister, but to become the wife of the CEO of a prominent corporate group.

"Do you want to see Matthias stay with Victoria? Seeing them so harmonious is annoying to me," Fransisca complained.

"But why are you so determined to destroy their relationship? As her younger sister, shouldn’t you support her?"

"As her younger sibling, I actually support her marrying her ex-boyfriend. I’d rather see my older sibling marry her boyfriend."

Amber nodded. "So, the conclusion is, you don’t want your sister to marry Matthias? You want her to marry Ansel?"

"Of course. Honestly, I’d rather she date Ansel than Matthias. Because her attitude is more like Ansel’s."

Amber raised her right eyebrow. "But why did they break up? Wasn’t their relationship fine all along?"

"I don’t know. It seems my greedy sister wants to be with a famous CEO so she can beat me." Fransisca pursed her lips. "I feel sorry for Ansel. He actually deserves to be with Victoria, but he’s been neglected."

"Then, I will definitely help you get rid of your brother."

Fransisca smiled broadly as she raised her glass. "I can’t wait to work with you, Amber."

"I honestly still can’t believe we’d meet like this, with the same goal in mind. If you hadn’t come to see me earlier, I wouldn’t have known you were Victoria’s younger sister."

"Maybe it’s because her face is so different. Victoria is much prettier than me."

Amber laughed irritably as she set her glass down on the table. "Don’t feel inferior just because your sister is prettier than you. Don’t worry, there will definitely be a guy who will be interested in you."

However, Fransisca also wanted to get rid of Amber after her mission was complete. She didn’t want Amber to marry Matthias. She should be Matthias’s wife, and Amber was merely a pawn on the chessboard.

The next day, Victoria was finally able to return to work as usual after a long vacation following her trip to Guam. Due to the extended vacation, her workload had piled up, even though Louis had been helping her out. Louis didn’t want to complain, either, because it was for the sake of reuniting the couple. To this day, Louis still doesn’t know how their relationship has developed.

"Victoria, I’ve been a great help to you all this time. I don’t want to see your relationship with your husband remain strained!"

Victoria burst out laughing at her partner’s complaint. What was happening now was completely different from before. However, she had deliberately kept her relationship with her husband a secret from everyone until she was ready to share it, including Jennifer. She wanted to confirm one important thing before deciding whether to pursue her relationship with her husband further.

"Louis, even though I’ve already raised your salary, you’re still complaining. Should I add more work for you?"

"No. Don’t give me any more work! I don’t want to be tortured by you!"

"Then you better not complain!"

"But, during the holidays, you didn’t feel any development of love between you and Matthias?"

Victoria rolled her eyes. "I’ve told you so many times! I don’t fall for him easily."

"I still support you in loving Matthias. I can’t wait to hear from you guys about your wedding."

"Instead of being noisy, you should go to work!"

Now, Victoria continues to work hard in her office. In addition to signing various contract documents, she also has to revise the interior design of the housing project developed by T&H Real Estate after conducting a survey.

She had been in her room for hours after lunch with her husband, and she wanted to rest first. She was still unsure whether to be curious about the person who gave her the ring. She felt the ring was very meaningful, and it would be a shame to throw it away.

For a moment, she stared at the ring still hanging around her neck. Then, slowly, she fingered it and focused on the inscription engraved on it. This was the first time she’d been intrigued by such familiar writing. She’d noticed it before, but now, as she read it, her eyes welled up with tears as she thought about it.

"Myty... I feel like I’m familiar."

It took Victoria a moment to realize the meaning of the writing. Her eyes widened as she stared into the mirror on her desk.

"Maybe that’s what it means..."
