Chapter 286: Can he not go for my ear?
CHAPTER 286: CAN HE NOT GO FOR MY EAR?
We finally got to the company and my jaw nearly dropped as I saw the breathtakingly sleek and beautiful transparent building in front of me.
But even as it looked transparent, we couldn’t see anything inside. It was a one-way glass effect, something like that.
It looked like the entire building was made of glass and the front too. This was what a digital company ruling Modern technology looked like.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw a few robots moving on their own as assistants inside.
"Let’s go." He offered his hand, looking at me with a certain satisfaction and I took it.
We walked in and the inside completely blew my mind.
Ah, it was like a futuristic place with drones hovering in the air, trying to get work done, small robot assistants with wheels walking alongside the employees, and high-tech models being tested in the open. Is that even allowed?
It was a bit chaotic but it was beautiful, by my terms.
But isn’t this a bit too much? This is way beyond anything I’d have expected. Won’t I get a little disappointed once I go to the other companies because they don’t measure up to this brilliance?
I just didn’t know then that every company, on the first floor, had perks that would blow the minds of anyone who walked in for the first time.
The same went for the other four companies, having what they do best on the first floor.
(Does that mean we’ll see oil on the first floor of Ki-hoon company? Haha)
"This is just how the first floor looks. Everywhere else is normal." He said, but I don’t know what his definition of ’normal’ would be, so I just nodded.
As soon as they all noticed Seo-Jun had arrived, they quickly coordinated themselves, as if the ’king’ had arrived, forming two rows and bowing their heads in respect.
"Welcome, sir."
It was a bit over the top, but it was to be expected when they were so revered in the country.
Seo-Jun didn’t say anything and just walked in with me. This must be a normal sight for him but for me... It was a bit overwhelming.
"Just relax." He said to me, not bothering to speak in whispers. But then, he leaned closer, his lips brushing my ear and sending out a silent message to all who were there. "I guess this does it."
I blushed and covered my ear.
Can he not go for my ear?
I secretly glanced around and noticed they were staring. Not at Seo-Jun, but at me who walked in with him, hand in hand.
It made me even more nervous as it was hard for them to hide their shock. Envy. Jealousy. A spice of gossip and... Hatred.
Gosh, I saw it all in just one little walk.
Maybe it was because the first-floor staff were the ones who saw everything and everyone that entered this place, and were the most sensitive to these sorts of things. The gossip went through them first, haha.
But I’m sure that’s not all.
The gaze of jealousy and hatred I got from a few must be because I was boldly walking hand in hand with the man who belonged to everyone, claiming him as mine with body language alone.
Sure enough, he had never brought anyone to the company, walking hand in hand.
I was the first.
And this provoked them.
Without even knowing, I had sent out a declaration of war towards anyone who wanted my man, but come on, I didn’t even do anything.
Yet, I kept my head high. I couldn’t show them I was weak and let them step all over me.
I knew he wasn’t mine alone, and I wasn’t trying to claim him as mine alone but... They needed to be careful. If they thought they could bare their fangs at me in his presence, then they were in for a big surprise.
It was the same as giving up their jobs.
Yes, I held that much importance.
And yes, I am indeed bragging. If I can’t brag about this much, then what can I brag about?
We headed for the elevator, and just before it closed, with their eyes still stuck on me, Seo-Jun actually pulled me in and kissed me.
What was with this attention seeker?
I rolled my eyes towards the employee whose rage was showing more evidently now that we were nearly out of sight.
Well, whatever.
The worst had already been done.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and then the elevators shut.
I’m sure that’s enough to spread the word to those who wanted to challenge me. They’d get the chance once I walked away from Seo-Jun and started looking around.
I hate to admit it, but I look forward to being the main protagonist of the brewing drama.
As soon as they shut, I knew I had to pull away from Seo-Jun, if not, we were on for another wild ride.
One morning of ecstasy was enough.
"S-Seo-Jun, that’s enough," I said, barely pulling away but he held on tight.
"I want to hold you." He said, hugging me tightly and keeping his head on my shoulder. "Let’s just stay like this for now, please."
He was such a kid during times like this.
I raised my hand and brushed my fingers through his neat hair, intentionally making a mess of it.
Ah, he looked great either way anyway.
"Do you like my hair down?" He asked and I nodded. "Why?"
"’Cause it makes you look younger," I said and jabbed my words through his chest.
"W-what? Does that mean I actually look old with my hair up?" Should I crush his heart more? It was fun.
"You look like you’re over 30," I said, turning him into stone and I chuckled. "But you still look very handsome, so it doesn’t matter."
"Ah, you’ve grown, Jo-Pil." He said, tightening his arms around me. "You’re even making fun of me now."
"Well, I have to pay you back somehow for the things you do to me," I said.
"Is that so?" He stayed silent for a little while and then whispered. "Jo-Pil, look behind you."
Behind me? What was behind me?
I turned, and that was when I realized that this elevator had a separate extension from the building itself, as if we were going up in a cylinder container, and from here... We could see everything outside.
"How is it?" He asked. "Is it nice?"
"Yes but..." I quickly looked away. "I just realized I might be scared of heights."
"Wow, really?" He looked at me surprised. "Yeah, so... I don’t want to look down."
But I could still look beyond though. It’s different from looking down and the scene beyond was... Quite nice.
