CHAPTER 291: HERE’S A LIST OF WHAT HE TOLD ME
Alright, rewind. I’m lost. What did he just say?
The normal reaction was for him to suddenly hit back or grab my arm, forcefully, grit his teeth, and not be able to do anything because he knew I belonged to his master.
But instead, he was laughing, smirking like a madman, and taking this as a joke.
Wait. I looked at my throbbing fist. Did my punch really knock him out of his senses or...?
I raised my head and looked at him.
A thought suddenly crossed my mind and I decided to confirm it.
"Hae-Jin, right?" I asked and he nodded, dropping his hand from his hair and dropping it on his waist. "Did you do this on purpose?"
For a moment, he looked at me puzzled. At least, it looked like he was puzzled and then he stifled a laugh, bowing his body as his back and shoulders fidgeted in his attempt to hold back his laughter.
"Wow, Hwang Jo-Pil, you’re really good. Very good." He said and I took that step back, the one I should’ve taken back at the start.
He was a madman, I could see that now.
"How did you know?" He asked, his eyes suddenly glittering and I got rashes of goosebumps once more. It felt cringe.
How would I not know seeing his reaction at the end? Okay, so maybe not everyone is smart enough to know but I’m one of those who are smart enough.
"I was thinking of a way to provoke you. I didn’t know if you would get offended by calling you my boss’s whore since most of them just turn away, knowing it’s true, but nothing else came to mind, so I said that." He explained. "And just like he said, you don’t take that insult lying down."
So, he’s saying he said all that nasty stuff on purpose to rile me up?
"And seeing how you reacted, though it only stings," he rubbed his cheek, "I can tell my boss was telling the truth the whole time."
Suddenly, I got furious and I clenched my already throbbing fist, swung it to hit that smiling face of his, and hoped he felt my pain.
’He said it only stings?’ Mine hurts a lot. I need you to feel just as much pain as I feel, you bastard.
My thoughts were raging but I didn’t say any of that and huffed with my nose like a bull.
"What was that one for?" He asked.
"Just so it can hurt and not just sting," I said and he blinked, laughing once more.
"Gosh, you’re indeed petty." He said and I frowned.
"Is that also something Seo-Jun told me about you?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yup."
He looked like a ray of sunshine, despite being hit twice and having a red cheek. He was speaking casually to me like we were friendly and had dropped every form of formality. Was that how he was?
I couldn’t even fake a smile if I wanted to because of how much my fist was aching.
Maybe I overdid it this time. But is his face made a wood? How is it so hard?
Guess he’s not the head of security for nothing.
"Here’s a list of the things he told me," he said, taking out a little notebook from God knows where. "Okay, he said he won’t shake me, he will size me up, even if I’m handsome, I won’t get away with being rude to him."
He said that?
"He said you’d definitely hit me if I crossed the line and offended you." He said and laughed.
What had Seo-Jun been painting my image as? Jeez.
"He also said you’re very cautious and if I act suspiciously, you won’t follow me even if he’s the one who sent me." He added and then scratched his head. "He said a bunch of other things like how you like eating a lot."
I flinched. He ratted me out, that jerk!
"So we have to be in the cafeteria before lunch so you can stuff your belly before your stomach starts to growl like a lion."
I could almost see Seo-Jun making such a description and I wondered what to do to her back at that maniac.
Inside the meeting room, Seo-Jun sneezed and the executives looked at him worriedly, as if he had caught a cold, but he suddenly smirked behind his hand and said,
"It seems a cute rabbit is cursing me out somewhere."
Anyway, Seo-Jun gave this guy pretty much a rough summary of what I’m like. I don’t know why, because I’m sure we’ll only be spending time with each other today, but that’s how things are right now.
So, this guy, Hae-Jin, was curious to test all this out so he decided to trigger me somehow.
How mature. I rolled my eyes.
"And lastly, he said I should apologize right away and sincerely if I offend you." He said and shut his notebook, immediately bowing his head as he apologized. "I’m really sorry, Hwang Jo-Pil. I went too far. And..." He slightly raised his head to look at my hand. "Because of me, you hurt yourself, so I’ll take whatever scolding you have for me, but for now, let’s treat that."
I didn’t say anything. I didn’t acknowledge his apology or nod my head to get treated. Why? Not because I didn’t want to, but because I was busy cursing out Seo-Jun, who had basically given out my details to a complete stranger.
All my embarrassing moments, hngh.
Well, at least he knew where to draw the line and mentioned nothing about my sexual tension during this period. Telling an outsider would be like telling them about what goes on in our bedroom, understand? It’s morally wrong.
Though, I don’t think morals are one of Seo-Jun’s best suits.
Once again, I sighed.
"I’m really sorry if I offended you. I didn’t mean to." Hae-Jin said, apologizing once more while he wrapped my hand with a bandage. "I just wanted to know if the boss was being serious for the first time." He said, and I could see the gentle melancholic smile on his face.
So, was it a habit of Seo-Jun to claim the girl or guy he was banging was ’the one’ was that it?
Then, did that mean that the energy I got from him was all an act? He faked it? Was that possible?
"Oh, and I’m not a bad guy either." He added, "Hehe, I just act the part from time to time."
It was as if he were answering the question I was curious about.
Hm, but would a bad guy say they were the bad guy? In Seo-Jun’s case, maybe so. But I don’t know about the others.
"Boss gave me a job to take care of you and I plan to do just that."
