CHAPTER 98: CHAPTER 15: FEMALE SORCERER MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION 1
The number of people in the manor gradually increased.
For the past couple of days, Su Ziyu had been researching anti-magic metal, and no one came to disturb him. However, Alice and Daisy would take turns delivering meals to him, and any female warlocks curious enough to try approaching him were stopped by the pair. The female warlocks seemed to have some special means of communication, and many knew they had gained help from a legendary demon hunter. The name of this demon hunter had yet to be disclosed, but many female warlocks knew he was very young and had achieved the astonishing feat of killing sixteen witch hunters alone without a scratch on himself.
On a vast open field.
Su Ziyu held a fine steel long sword in his hand, his eyes closed, while Melissa continuously moved around exploring him. The young girl cautiously moved her footsteps, occasionally launching probing attacks, but all the offensives were evaded and blocked by Su Ziyu.
"Too slow," Su Ziyu said with his eyes closed. "Focus your spirit, sense your body’s muscles, mobilize your potential."
"Your speed can be faster."
A flash of cold light passed by.
Melissa took a deep breath and suddenly pounced. Before she could make a move, Su Ziyu shifted his feet slightly, moving out of the way, creating a small distance between himself and the attacking Melissa, thus avoiding the incoming sharp sword. Instantly, he struck her abdomen with the pommel of his sword.
"Ugh." Melissa let out a painful groan, her whole body sagging to the ground somewhat listlessly.
It was clear Su Ziyu had held back.
"Not bad. Better than yesterday." Su Ziyu slowly opened his eyes, reaching out to lift the pained girl before him, smiling as he said, "Let’s stop here for today. Go rest."
He was teaching Melissa White Crow Swordsmanship.
Meanwhile, Su Ziyu was also training his abilities.
Van Helsing was too powerful and unsuitable for Su Ziyu to test his own abilities against. However, Melissa, being relatively weaker, was suitable for allowing Su Ziyu to test the practical application of his perception enhancement in combat. Perception enhancement was an all-around improvement, including senses such as smell, hearing, taste, among others, seemingly linked with physical enhancement.
Su Ziyu closed his eyes merely for better focus, though he hadn’t expected this training method to unlock an additional skill tree.
"Blind Combat: Even in complete darkness, your combat ability remains unaffected. Your senses have adapted to dark environments, allowing you to perceive enemy attacks even when your eyes are closed. Consumes 2 Source Power Value."
This combat ability branched out from the perception enhancement path, connected by a line of light points to melee abilities.
At the time, there was a fluctuation in the data stream, followed by an indication of abilities being unlocked due to sufficient authority.
The second unlocked ability was slightly stronger.
"Heart Eye: Preconditions insufficient, unable to unlock."
This ability was an advanced skill on the perception enhancement path. Su Ziyu had merely expanded its skill tree but had not met the prerequisite conditions for learning it. Moreover, mastering this ability required the prior acquisition of ’Sixth Sense’ and ’Intuitive Evasion.’
"Yes, mentor," Melissa said painfully, getting up.
She looked at Su Ziyu with a hint of admiration in her eyes. Although she hadn’t participated in the battle that night, she had heard of Su Ziyu’s impressive performance.
The intermittent gazes around gradually faded away.
Su Ziyu wasn’t concerned. After signaling Melissa to rest, he turned and returned to his room.
These past two days, several female warlocks would intentionally or unintentionally pass by his area. While teaching Melissa White Crow Swordsmanship, he could sense many pairs of eyes quietly watching. However, they did not disturb Su Ziyu, as Alice stood quietly not far away, watching.
She seemed to hold a substantial position within the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association.
"Inid will return this afternoon," Alice said with a smile, handing over a towel to wipe the sweat.
Su Ziyu nodded, reaching out to take it, casually wiping himself as he said, "When are you planning to leave?"
"In five days," Alice said softly, looking at the side of Su Ziyu’s face.
A faint fragrance wafted over.
Today, this female warlock seemed to have changed her perfume again, and Su Ziyu couldn’t identify the scent—perhaps something like orchid.
He was waiting for the person she mentioned, Inid.
She was the leader of the Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association, also a powerful elf warlock. Daisy had inadvertently mentioned she was looking for individuals capable of traveling through time and space, allegedly bringing along a terrible plague.
This matter drew Su Ziyu’s keen interest.
However, after various indirect questions, Su Ziyu still felt a bit disappointed.
Other female warlocks didn’t know much, only that this world possessed a phenomenon called ’celestial convergence,’ during which people could cross time and space from other worlds to arrive here. It’s said that humans were not originally natives of this world, and magic was a force that originated from other worlds.
In the entire Female Sorcerer Mutual Aid Association, only Inid knew the most about this. Her departure was to find the source of the plague and attempt to clear the stigma on the witches.
The Eternal Flame Church and Witch Hunter Organization made the most severe accusation against them, claiming they spread plague in this world.
They supposedly traded with demons for power, and the plague was brought by these witches.
This notion was widely accepted among the populace because early wizards often conducted human experiments, demon hunters being one of their creations, and many monsters resulted from their uncontrolled and rampaging failures. The Eternal Flame Church held deep animosity towards the power of magic, believing it was brought by the wizards, and possessed masses of fanatical followers ready to cleanse and purify this world’s filth.
However, their extreme methods caused many innocent women to die, and some demon hunters also perished by their hands.
As Su Ziyu conversed quietly with Alice, a slight change occurred in the data stream in his mind.
"Scan analysis complete!"
"Data computation complete!"
"Transmitting..."
"Current Plane: Medieval Civilization."
"Civilization Level: Level 1."
"Energy Level: Level 2."
"Pollution Level: Medium."
"Alert! Alert!"
"Spatial turbulence detected in the current crystal wall element! ... Unknown cause leading to plane barrier failure... Celestial convergence phenomenon in the crystal wall element! ..."
"Recording plane coordinates! ... Added to correction sequence! ... Initiating Space-Time Monitor System autonomous response mode! ..."
"Issuing task."
"Task Objective: Investigate the cause of the ’celestial convergence’ phenomenon, find the individuals traveling through space."
"Task Rewards: Authority level up! Expand Space Enhancement skill tree!"
