Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 184 - 144 Reunion_3
CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 144 REUNION_3
"Great, you’re safe! It’s really wonderful!" The voice was filled with excitement.
Alka and Chadite also looked overjoyed.
After a brief exchange of greetings, Chadite slapped Jason’s shoulder heavily. "How about Vanessa and the others?" he asked. "Are they safe too?"
"Don’t worry, they’re all safe too," Jason said with a smile.
Then, he looked around the ship, his expression gradually growing somber. He opened his mouth, his voice hesitant, "Sang Kaka, he..."
Jason had obtained some information when he killed the pirates earlier, indicating that Sang Kaka might be dead. But he had still clung to a glimmer of hope. Now, however, that hope seemed to be gone.
Upon hearing Sang Kaka’s name, Alka and Chadite also fell silent.
Alka patted Jason’s arm and sighed but didn’t say much. He had already prepared himself mentally, merely holding onto that last sliver of hope.
At that moment, the Church’s ships finally drew alongside the Spell Ship and came to a complete stop.
The middle-aged Knight from one of the ships came aboard and approached Alka.
Alka could sense that this Knight was strong, though not necessarily much stronger than himself. This feeling suggested a strength at the Three Spirals level.
The Knight looked at Alka, then at the Silver Metal Box on Alka’s back.
"You must be Alka," the Knight said, extending his hand. "It’s nice to meet you. I’m a company captain of the Church Knight Squad. Just call me Kosaya."
Alka shook his hand.
Kosaya then pointed to the Silver Metal Box on Alka’s back. "Just to confirm, the Sword of Love is inside, correct?"
Alka nodded, took the Silver Metal Box off his back, and handed it to the Knight.
Kosaya accepted the box, opened it, and saw the Holy Sword within. He held it and infused his Magic Power into it. Watching the Holy Flame ignite on its surface, he nodded in satisfaction.
He then placed the Holy Sword back into the box and slung it over his own shoulder. The most important item of their mission had been retrieved.
Looking at Alka’s group, Kosaya said, "You’re safe now. Come on, I’ll escort you out of here."
Hearing this, Alka and Chadite exchanged a glance, and Alka shook his head. "No, we can’t leave yet."
"Why not?" Kosaya asked, puzzled. "You’re being hunted, aren’t you? You’ll be safe once you return to the Church Sea Region."
"I’m preparing to confront my father," Alka stated. "We need to rescue Andre, so we need your help."
"Confront Sifus? He’s your father?" These two revelations stunned both Kosaya and Jason, who was standing nearby.
The father issue aside... Kosaya thought, then pressed Alka, "You’re going to confront him? You know he possesses a Treasure, don’t you? And you must know his strength is definitely at the Three Spirals level. How can you possibly stand before him?"
"Don’t let an impulsive decision cost you your life," Kosaya couldn’t help but admonish. In his view, Alka confronting Sifus was a suicide mission.
Alka shook his head and waved his hand. The Dream Catcher at his waist spiraled upwards, hovering in front of him. He then infused his Magic Power into the Dream Catcher, activating it.
The surge of Energy radiating from the Dream Catcher was immediately noticed by Kosaya. He looked at the Crystal Ball on Alka’s chest, then back at Alka.
The shock on Kosaya’s face was even more pronounced than when he had heard Alka’s earlier words; it now carried a distinct hint of disbelief. "Is this a Treasure?"
"You... you’re truly impressive. Truly impressive!" Kosaya couldn’t help but exclaim.
To have acquired a Treasure under such circumstances, while being hunted... He didn’t even know what to say. No wonder the Sword of Love wasn’t used for attacks; it simply wasn’t needed. An unconsecrated Sword of Love, not having gone through the ceremony, couldn’t compare to a genuine Treasure.
His previous disdain gone, Kosaya looked at Alka with newfound respect. "Alright then, tell me. How do you need our help? Or rather, how should we coordinate with you?"
Alka nodded. "On Harvest Day, my father will be waiting for us with his pirates on Elcott Island. If we don’t go, he’ll kill Andre."
"Harvest Day... Elcott Island. Hmm, understood," Kosaya acknowledged. "When you’re ready to go, please notify us in advance. We’ll prepare and accompany you."
Hearing Kosaya’s words, Alka nodded. A simple agreement had been established. They would continue to communicate and exchange any new information or changes to their plans.
For now, Kosaya’s priority was to return the Holy Sword; the Church Knights wouldn’t feel at ease carrying it indefinitely.
After their discussion, the Knight Captain looked at Jason beside him, thought for a moment, and said, "Then you stay here for now. Serve as a temporary liaison."
"No problem, Captain!" Jason happily accepted the task.
Kosaya added, "There’s less than a month until Harvest Day. I need to quickly convey this information to the Church and ensure we prepare adequately."
"Then I’ll take my leave. May the Holy Mother bless you all." With that, the Knight crossed his arms over his chest and nodded to Alka and the others.
Alka and his companions returned the gesture.
They watched the Knight return to his ship, which then turned around and retraced its route, gradually fading into the distance.
"Is this true? You’ve actually mastered a Treasure?" Jason finally asked, his voice filled with disbelief once Kosaya was gone.
Alka nodded.
Upon receiving Alka’s confirmation, Jason clutched his head, still reeling. "Oh my goodness, what have I missed!"
Hearing Jason’s anguished cry, Alka and Chadite couldn’t help but laugh.
Jason had joined the Treasure Hunting Team primarily due to his passion for treasure hunting; he had even joined the Church for similar reasons. For him, missing out on the thrill of discovering a Treasure was an absolutely crushing blow.
Afterward, Alka introduced Jason to the other two members of their group on the ship.
