Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 232 - 160: Extreme Ice Earthworm_3
CHAPTER 232: CHAPTER 160: EXTREME ICE EARTHWORM_3
At least it could be held without causing immediate frostbite.
Alka opened the map and checked it. The display read: [Treasure Acquired: Frost Blade.]
Is this sword really called Frost Blade? That’s quite straightforward.
Alka gripped the hilt, raising the One-Handed Sword. A cold sensation continuously flowed into his palm.
It felt like plunging one’s hand into icy water in winter, then gripping a frost-laden block of ice taken straight from a freezer.
The biting cold was truly unbearable.
Alka handed the sword directly to Jason.
"Want to try it? If you can handle it, it’s yours to use."
Jason took the hilt, swung the sword twice, then couldn’t resist plunging it into the ice at his feet.
He furiously rubbed his hands and blew warm air onto them, then regretfully shook his head. "No, no, this is too cold. It’s uncomfortable to even hold, let alone use for attacking."
He couldn’t withstand the sword’s cold.
Hearing this, Alka shrugged, took the sword by the blade, and then directly tossed it into his Pocket Ring.
"Looks like it’s not destined for you. Let’s head back."
As was his routine, Alka took out a burlap sack, placed the bones inside, and then retraced his steps with Jason.
When the two emerged from the cave, they found not only Pororo outside but also a small group of other people. Alka frowned.
Pororo, hearing the commotion behind him, looked at the two and said directly, "They are tribal residents from the Extreme Cold Triangle Zone—Hunters from Snow Robe Island."
Hearing this, Alka, who had just walked out, nodded with furrowed brows.
The Extreme Cold Triangle Zone was not uninhabited. According to the Church’s records, the three islands had once housed different populations.
They had either fled there as refugees or were the original inhabitants of these islands who, refusing to leave despite the cold, had remained.
Over hundreds of years, they gradually developed into tribes.
But this was Icecap Island, and Pororo had said this group of tribal Hunters was from Snow Robe Island.
Snow Robe Island was the very island Alka and his team were heading to—the island said to hold a Treasure.
Under normal sailing conditions, Snow Robe Island is at least a two-week journey from here. Why are these people here?
These Hunters were currently cutting flesh and skin from the Sea Beast.
At that moment, a Hunter who appeared to be their leader spotted Alka emerging from the cave. He and another Hunter quickly ran over, smiling.
The leader carried a spear, had a few short javelins slung on his back along with a harpoon, and was wrapped tightly in thick, plush leather clothing.
"That Blood-toothed Beast... you’re the ones who took it down, right?" the middle-aged man asked.
Although the man’s accent was a bit strange, Alka could still understand him.
"Thank you so much! Thank you! Thank you for taking down that monster!"
Seeing the bewildered expressions on Alka and his companions, the man hurriedly explained, "We used to be tribal residents living on Icecap Island. However, we were forced to leave for Snow Robe Island to seek help because of the Blood-toothed Beast’s arrival."
"We’ve been living on that island all these years, but we still occasionally come back every year to see if that monster has left."
Hearing the middle-aged man’s account, Alka nodded in understanding.
So the monster only arrived on this island a few years ago. That’s why the Church’s records don’t have specific information about it.
With this thought, Alka waved his hand dismissively.
"No need to thank us. It was nothing," Alka replied.
Alka had no desire to communicate much with this group of strangers. He waved his hand at them and then led Pororo and the others towards the shore.
Their purpose here had been achieved, so there was no need to linger. They headed back the way they came.
Upon reaching the shore, they indeed spotted a twin-masted ship, roughly twenty meters long, moored not far away.
That must be the Hunters’ ship.
Alka and his team ignored them, pushed the Swallow into the water, and quickly sailed towards the Spell Ship on the sea.
Upon reaching their ship, they used the hanging ropes to secure the Swallow alongside the hull once more. Then, they returned to the deck.
"Did you encounter those tribal Hunters?" As soon as they were back on deck, Chadite looked at them and asked.
Alka nodded and briefly explained the situation with the Hunters.
After understanding the situation, Chadite nodded and didn’t give it much attention.
They were only here temporarily and wouldn’t have much interaction with these tribal residents, so there was no need for excessive concern.
Instead, he asked Alka and the others, "Why are you back so soon? Did you find anything?"
Alka nodded. He extended both hands, and the translucent Ice Sword materialized, which he then placed directly on the deck.
Due to the frigid air clinging to it, a small circle of Frost immediately spread out on the deck where the sword lay.
"It’s a Magic Weapon," Alka explained. "It seems to have been used by a member of a Frost Bloodline family. We also found a skeleton next to it. I buried the bones on the island before we left."
Looking at the weapon, both Chadite and Julia appeared intrigued. Its appearance was indeed beautiful, more like a sculpted piece of art than a mere weapon.
"Does anyone want to use it?" Alka asked. "If so, pick it up and see if you can handle it."
Hearing Alka’s words, Chadite directly grabbed the hilt, lifted the Ice Sword, swung it twice, and then set it back down.
He couldn’t help rubbing his hands.
"So cold!" he exclaimed. "Using it for long would freeze your hands stiff."
Chadite, who usually fought with his fists, wasn’t accustomed to using weapons, let alone this one. He was merely curious to try it out.
Pororo was even less inclined to use weapons, and this weapon’s length also didn’t suit his physique. To him, it might have seemed like a small dagger.
Everyone looked towards Julia; aside from Pororo, she was the only one extremely resistant to cold.
Julia walked over, grasped the blade in her hand, and casually swung it twice. She seemed very satisfied.
This level of Coldness was nothing to her.
It seemed the sword had finally found its wielder.
