CHAPTER 472: CHAPTER 240 EXPOSURE_3
"So, my friends, I suggest you stay on this island a while longer. Although outsiders do occasionally come to this island, it’s quite rare. As long as you avoid drawing attention to yourselves, you shouldn’t be easily discovered. It’s better to wait safely until your strength grows to that of Nine Spirals before leaving,"
At this point, Balazs’s expression turned exceptionally serious.
"I admire you for coming to the Endless Sea, but here... it’s not as great as you think," he said, shaking his head helplessly.
Alka nodded. He would seriously consider this proposal. After all, safety was paramount.
He looked at Balazs with sincere gratitude and said, "Thank you. Thank you very much for your help, friend."
"Haha, you’re too kind. Honestly, I have my own reasons. To be frank, you’re the first people I’ve met from the Four Divine Seas."
"Are people from the Four Divine Seas rare?"
"Rare, indeed. In this boundless domain that is the Endless Sea, they are very few. However, many famous figures have come from there."
"Famous figures?"
"Of course. The infamous thief Salmaro, the Battle Wave Levis, the Flesh Calamity Barro, and others. These are all individuals with resounding names in the Endless Sea, and all of them came from the Four Divine Seas."
"Salmaro..." Chadite murmured softly beside him.
Alka turned to him and asked, "Do you know this person?"
Upon hearing this question, Balazs’s eyes, from across them, lit up, his face filled with curiosity. It wasn’t just him; the surrounding merchant crew members were all ears too. To them, these were legendary figures, people from myths and tales.
Chadite nodded, raising his voice slightly as he said, "I’ve read about him in the Church’s records. He left the Homeland Sea around 280 years ago. He was recorded because he stole something from the Church. In a panic, while being pursued by Church hunters, he rushed towards an open gate."
Hearing this bit of gossip, the nearby merchant crew members all nodded in understanding.
Balazs also looked enlightened and said, "No wonder his relationship with the Church is so strained. Even now, it’s said he steals... um, *takes* things from some of the Church’s chapels."
He hadn’t expected such a backstory, nor that this famous figure had once been in such a desperate state. It gave them the illusion that these legendary figures were closer to their own reality.
"Speaking of which, I’ve heard of this Barro before," Simon chimed in.
This comment left everyone looking somewhat pleasantly surprised. They hadn’t expected to hear the backstories of two legendary figures here.
"He is part of the conciliatory faction among the Heretics—those whose ideology conflicts with the Church’s but who still believe in the Wise One. His break from the Church was due to his research into flesh. The most startling incident involved him attaching flesh to a house, turning it into a living monster. Because of this, he was judged by the Church and subsequently fled."
Alka couldn’t help but scoff internally. Even after all that, his actions merely conflicted with the Church’s ideology, yet he still believed in the Wise One? And what on earth does your sea region produce, anyway? Attaching flesh to a house... just hearing about it is enough to make one’s scalp tingle!
After hearing this account, Balazs’s eyes sparkled, a look on his face as if he’d stumbled upon something valuable. He then said, "So there’s such a story behind him? Barro is now the leader of a very well-known Sect under the Holy Machine Church. I recall it’s called the ’Jade Ruby’ Sect."
"A Heretical Sect of the Holy Machine Church?" Simon repeated, baffled. He was unaware of such a group existing within the Holy Machine Church. Unless, even as a member of the Holy Machine Church, there were hidden secrets he didn’t know about. But judging by Balazs’s expression, this didn’t seem to be a secret.
"Yes! The Holy Machine Church has many affiliated Heretical Sects. These are Sects whose ideologies differ but still follow the Wise One. They are considered part of the Holy Machine Church," Balazs explained to everyone.
"Is that really possible?"
Simon was utterly shocked. He couldn’t fathom how the Church he belonged to could have become so open in the Endless Sea. Coming to his senses, he hurriedly asked, "Then what about those heretics who *don’t* believe in the Wise One?"
"I haven’t heard of any like that. However, there are many evil sects and organizations that often launch various attacks and wage wars against the Holy Machine Church. Of course, they don’t *only* target the Holy Machine Church," Balazs said, his eyebrows furrowed and his expression filled with disgust. A hint of hatred could even be seen deep in his eyes.
Hearing this, Simon nodded in understanding.
Well, that’s somewhat acceptable. At least under these circumstances, he could manage without his worldview completely crumbling. Heretical Sects and the like are still manageable.
