CHAPTER 481: CHAPTER 243: MUSEUM MYSTERY_3
Overall, although they were different from humans, they still leaned more towards the human form, with only slight differences in some details.
The female statue, adorned with unknown accessories, held a book in one hand and something resembling a quill in the other. The male statue, wearing an open-faced helmet befitting a Warrior, donned light Armor with three javelins slung over his back, a longsword in one hand, and an axe in the other.
"Are these the Vastva people?" Chadite asked, looking at the statues. Placing humanoid statues here made it clear that this was the appearance of the local Race. After all, this place showcased their city-state’s culture.
Lucilia nodded and brushed the dust from the inscriptions on the statues’ bases. "The female is referred to as the Original Eye of Secret Technique, and the male as the Original Hand of War."
"I know about the Eye of Secret Technique, but what is the Hand of War?" Julia asked curiously. None of them, except Alka, had heard this term before. So, upon hearing Julia’s question, and before Lucilia could answer, Alka spoke up, "You can think of it as a Warrior position equivalent to the Eye of Secret Technique." This explanation clarified things for the group.
"Let’s go inside and take a look."
Saying this, Chadite guided the glowing sphere to float inside, and the group followed.
Upon entering, they discovered a giant hall, extraordinarily vast, where their voices echoed. A significant portion of the hall had already collapsed, with various signs of ruin around.
As the light fully illuminated the area, Alka looked up. Above was a massive semi-circular dome, which would have been stunning if intact. Below the dome, they could see a second level with a passageway running along either side. However, this level had almost completely collapsed, and the stairway leading to it was entirely broken.
In the center of the hall stood another statue. This statue was peculiar and not humanoid; it depicted four interconnected spheres, each at different heights and positions. Underneath the spheres was a depiction of an Island.
Lucilia ran directly over, carefully clearing the stone slab in front of the statue. The group followed her, and Lucilia looked at the stone slab and translated, "This statue represents the God of Four Parts and Vastva."
Upon hearing this, everyone looked at the sphere statue. This indicated that the Vastva people perceived the God of Four Parts as four interconnected spheres. Each of these spheres was unique, with a distinctive appearance, yet they gave the impression of being a single unit, showcasing the sculptor’s skill.
"But this Island clearly seems off," Chadite said, focusing on the Island depiction below.
The group also looked down. The Island depicted was shaped like a teardrop, with a pointed and slender head, unlike the elongated form they knew. Everyone examined the Island statue carefully. It was intricately carved, depicting significant landmarks on the Island in detail. Due to its teardrop shape, a circle could be envisioned on the Island, with four identical Temples at the four cardinal points of this circle. These four Temples were the tallest structures, likely the four Great Temples mentioned by the golden glow. At the tail of the teardrop was a low Temple that, though not tall, covered a large area and seemed very important.
Chadite gestured with her hand over the statue and said, "Look, if you cut from here, doesn’t it resemble the shape of the Island we’re on?" Her gesture marked a deep indent at the tail, pointing towards the main body of the teardrop. This indent neatly separated one of the Great Temples while including the low Temple at the tail.
Chadite then reached out and covered the tip of the island model’s tail. "Doesn’t this resemble the place where we landed, which Bai Shi said was the bombed semi-circle?"
Everyone looked and couldn’t help but nod; indeed, it seemed very similar. No, it was even identical.
"So, this Island is actually a fragmented part, making it reasonable to call it Broken Island," Julia summarized. The statue of the Island essentially confirmed that they were in merely a part of the original city-state.
They decided to explore the other areas of the hall. Everyone then shifted their focus to other parts of the vast chamber.
The hall’s surroundings were also filled with various statues, similar to the humanoid ones at the entrance. However, their attire and appearance varied greatly, even in height, and several statues had already collapsed or were damaged. Alka also noticed several objects outlined in a white glow. A quick glance showed they were ornaments and decorations made from precious metals and Gemstones.
However, except for Lucilia, the group couldn’t read the ancient script. They merely examined the statues’ forms while waiting for Lucilia to decipher the inscriptions and translate them.
Even though the place covered a considerable area, most of it was empty, with statues and other items placed only at the margins. Furthermore, many items had crumbled to debris, and the stone slabs bearing their descriptions were blurred beyond recognition.
The group could only listen to Lucilia’s occasional exclamations. She seemed very surprised by some of her discoveries, and her exclamations made Alka and the others burn with curiosity; after all, who wouldn’t be interested in such ancient secrets?
They didn’t have to wait long. Soon, Lucilia, having absorbed all the information she could from the inscriptions, ran over to them, her face alight with excitement.
"You know what? I’ve discovered some incredible information!"
