CHAPTER 483: CHAPTER 244: ARTIFICIAL HUMAN_2
"What important information are you talking about?" Chadite asked.
"It’s that this island was once within an Alternate Space! They built a city on the land of that Alternate Space—it’s simply incredible! Moreover, interpretations of those tools and antiques show they were extremely skilled at using space to create Superimposed Spaces and even expand them."
As Lucilia spoke, she grew excited and ran to a nearby statue. The statue clearly depicted a female figure holding a gigantic scepter, its top a stone carving resembling lightning.
Pointing to the statue’s description, Lucilia said, "Eye of Secret Technique—Salvatore, Opener of Space, Blessed by the Divine. She discovered the secrets of space, creating Superimposed Space technology, space expansion technology, and space cutting and separation technology."
"According to this introduction, she invented the Alternate Space in the two temples we previously explored, the one that required a secret phrase to access."
"Besides her, several others also invented different space-related technologies, including one that could instantly transport a person far away—like the technology in the temple we encountered when we first arrived on the island, which transported us into that underground cavern."
Listening to Lucilia’s words, the others had roughly understood her meaning.
"You mean to say, there might be items or knowledge related to these technologies among the ruins on this island?" Alka thought aloud.
Upon hearing this, Lucilia nodded vigorously. "Exactly that."
Judging by the descriptions of these technologies, even the most basic space expansion technique was absolutely incredible. According to some simple descriptions, this technology merely expanded space. For instance, a space that was clearly only 10 square meters could be expanded to 20, 30, or even more square meters, inexplicably increasing its size.
Lucilia’s first thought was to use this technology to expand the internal space of the Sound of Dawn, making it ridiculously vast inside. Of course, this is merely a fantasy.
But in any case, aside from this most eye-catching spatial technology, deciphering other information from the surroundings revealed that this island had deeply valued invention, creation, and technical research. The entire island had a strong scholarly atmosphere; even some members of the Hand of War had made considerable research achievements. Of course, these research achievements were mostly related to warfare and military might.
Therefore, these ruins must contain various powerful technologies, or even tools invented using these technologies. For example, the Magic Gathering Stone they had found earlier could increase one’s Meditation speed several times over. Increasing a person’s Magic Power Meditation speed severalfold was already astounding. Yet even such a technology merely allowed a researcher to be promoted to an Eye of Secret Technique.
"Look at the statues here. There are seven or eight depicting Eyes of Secret Technique. These are just the ones that are still intact, and only those who made truly significant contributions could have their statues placed here."
Julia pondered something, thought for a moment, and said, "But this place we’re in now is only a quarter of the island. The island’s destruction surely shattered it into many pieces. Who could guarantee that the other fragments still existed? Moreover, so much time has passed—thirty thousand years! Everything would have returned to nothingness."
The implication was that the space expansion technology might not exist anymore, or might not have been preserved. They shouldn’t get their hopes up too high, lest they face immense disappointment if those hopes were dashed. Indeed, a crucial point was that all the useful items they had obtained so far came entirely from Superimposed Spaces. Anything stored outside had mostly turned to dust, completely unpreserved. Even within a Superimposed Space, ordinary items would have struggled to last. Thirty thousand years... It was far too long.
Upon hearing this, Lucilia finally calmed down, thought carefully, and nodded somewhat regretfully.
"Setting those aside, I’m more interested in this," Alka suddenly said, then pointed to the glowing heart on the mural.
Others might not know what this represented, but Alka had already equated it with something specific: the treasure that emitted the orange glow.
What did that introduction say again?
[Treasure Information: City-state Vastva, the Ancient City. Believed in the Four-Part Ancient Secret God. Also known as the City of Change.
Parshwa Temple, core of the city-state.
Here lies the heart of the city, the Eternally Beating Heart.]
The heart of the city, the Eternally Beating Heart.
It was hard not to equate it with the heart depicted on the mural.
Alka felt that this was the truly crucial piece of information.
"What’s up with this thing?" Chadite asked curiously.
The other two were also somewhat puzzled. Such mythological stories about city founders were bound to have some degree of artificial embellishment.
"Aren’t you curious about what this heart is?" Alka asked, somewhat puzzled.
Chadite shook his head, explaining, "This item was evidently blessed by the Four-Part God. This Vastva must have ultimately become a Saint or a Divine Will Executor. And the heart itself? It probably ended up as something like a Holy Artifact."
