I caught my child as it tore through reality itself, born in a burst of golden light that rewrote the rules of existence.
The moment my hands touched my baby’s skin, everything changed. Not just around us - inside us. The link between father and child hit me like lightning, and suddenly I could see through my baby’s eyes. I could see every possible future spreading out like branches on an endless tree.
"It’s beautiful," I whispered, tears running down my face as I held the tiny being that glowed with soft golden light. My child was perfect - ten fingers, ten toes, but with the most amazing silver eyes that seemed to hold entire worlds.
"Caleb, look out!" Dr. Sarah screamed.
Shadow-Lily’s attack mmed into the protective bubble my child had made around us. The dark energy scattered like water against a stone wall. My baby gurgled happily, as if destroying evil was just a fun game.
"Impossible," Shadow-Lily growled. "That infant can’t have that much power!"
But she was wrong. As I held my child against my chest, I felt its incredible powers flowing through our bond. This wasn’t just any baby - this was the first being ever made from Order, Bnce, and Omega wolfbined. Every breath it took made reality stronger and more beautiful.
"Look," I said quietly to Lily, who was exhausted but smiling through her tears. "Our baby is fixing things."
Where my child’s power touched the broken field around us, cracks healed themselves. The twisted chaos energy smoothed into gentle streams of light. Even the empty space between dimensions filled with tiny stars that sparkled like Christmas lights.
"What’s its name?" Dr. Sarah asked, checking Lily’s health while keeping amazed eyes on our glowing baby.
Lily and I looked at each other, then at our child. Somehow, we both knew the answer at the same time.
"Hope," we said together.
The baby - Hope - made a soft cooing sound, and suddenly I could understand what she was thinking. Yes, she was definitely a girl, and she was trying to tell us something important.
"She says the danger isn’t over," I tranted, my excitement dimming as I felt Hope’s concern. "Shadow-Lily was just the beginning."
"What do you mean?" Lily asked softly.
Through Hope’s eyes, I saw the terrible truth. "When Hope was born, her power caused ripples across all dimensions. Every evil form of ourselves from every dark reality felt it happen. They’re alling here."
Shadow-Lily’s cruelughs filled the air. "You think I came alone? I’m just the first wave. Soon you’ll face Shadow-Caleb, who chose power over love. Shadow-Alpha Marcus, who conquered other packs instead of guarding them. Even a Shadow-Elder Iris, who hoarded knowledge instead of sharing it."
Hope whimpered in my arms, and I felt her fear. She was extremely powerful, but she was still just a newborn baby. Fighting one shadow version had been hard enough. Fighting dozens of them would be impossible.
"How many areing?" I asked, fearing the answer.
Shadow-Lily smiled with Lily’s face twisted by evil. "Every action you’ve ever made created a shadow version of someone. Every time any of you picked good over evil, you created a dark mirror. And now they’re alling to take what they think should be theirs."
Through the connection with Hope, I felt theming. Dark versions of everyone we loved, flowing through holes in reality like poisonous water. They all wanted one thing - to destroy our happiness and take Hope’s power for themselves.
"We have to run," Dr. Sarah said quickly. "Get Lily and the baby somewhere safe."
But Hope made a frustrated sound, and suddenly I understood why we couldn’t run. "She can’t leave this area yet," I exined. "Her birth caused a weak spot in reality. If she goes too far away, the hole will copse and trap all the shadow versions in our dimension forever."
"So we’re stuck here," Lily said, trying to sit up. "How do we fight them all?"
I looked down at Hope, her tiny face so serious for a baby. Through our bond, she showed me something amazing. She wasn’t just strong - she was smart. Incredibly smart. Her mind worked faster than anyputer, calcting millions of options every second.
"She has a n," I said, excitement building in my chest again despite the risk. "Hope knows how to stop them."
"How?" everyone asked at once.
Hope gurgled and sent me a series of images that made me gasp. "She’s going to use her power to call our good versions from other worlds. For every dark versioning to attack us, she’ll bring a light version to help us fight."
"That’s brilliant!" Dr. Sarah shouted. "Fight darkness with light!"
But Shadow-Lily’s face went pale with rage. "You can’t! The strain of opening that many dimensional holes will kill the baby!"
I felt Hope’s determination through our bond. She knew the risks, but she was ready to sacrifice herself to save everyone else. My heart broke and swelled with pride at the same time. My daughter was less than five minutes old, and she was already braver than warriors who’d lived for ages.
"No," I said firmly, holding Hope tighter. "There has to be another way. I won’t let my baby hurt herself."
Hope looked up at me with those ancient, gxy-filled eyes and sent me one more picture. This one showed her not fighting alone, but sharing her power with me and Lily. Together, we could handle the pressure of calling light versions without any of us dying.
"She wants us to be a family unit," I exined to Lily. "Not just parents and child, but a single force working together."
"Is that safe?" Lily asked, reaching out to touch Hope’s glowing cheek.
Before I could answer, the first shadow version appeared at the edge of our field. It was Shadow-Aiden, but wrong in every way. His polite smile was cold and calcting. His leader’s strength had be cruel control.
"Hello, brother," Shadow-Aiden called out happily. "I’vee to take your ce. This reality looks much nicer than mine."
More shadows began appearing around the arena’s edges. Shadow-Brock, whose protective nature had twisted into violent violence. Shadow-Marcus, whose fatherly love had be obsessive control. Shadow-Luna, whose ambition had consumed her totally.
Hope made an eager sound, and I felt her n crystallizing. It was time to choose.
"Lily," I said, my voice shaking with both fear and excitement. "Are you ready to be somethingpletely new?"
She smiled weakly but with total trust. "With you and Hope? Always."
I reached out my free hand to Lily just as Hope’s power started to build. The bond between all three of us zed to life, linking our minds and souls in ways that had never existed before.
But as our family bond triggered, I felt something else - something Hope hadn’t expected.
The ghost versions weren’t justing to fight us.
They wereing to steal our bond and use it to merge all their dark realities into one unstoppable evil realm.
"Lily," I whispered as reality began to crack around us. "I think we just gave them exactly what they wanted."
