Chapter 13: From Now On, She Is Mrs. Kingston
CHAPTER 13: CHAPTER 13: FROM NOW ON, SHE IS MRS. KINGSTON
Justin Kingston twirled a few noodles into his mouth, chewing carefully; for the first time in years, the taste was wonderful and he didn’t feel nauseous at all.
Butler Shelby inadvertently saw this scene and was utterly shocked!
It was like seeing the sun rise from the west!
Justin Kingston was earnestly eating the noodles, and Butler Shelby knew this wasn’t a dream and stepped forward.
Upon hearing the sound, Justin Kingston lifted his gaze, his expression indifferent.
"Mr. Kingston..." Butler Shelby stopped before the coffee table, and asked with delight, "You can eat now? Is your stomach better?"
Justin Kingston was slightly taken aback and replied, "I just tried it casually."
"You don’t feel nauseous anymore?" The butler was very happy.
"..." Justin Kingston thought for a moment, "It’s okay."
Butler Shelby knew the noodles were made by Miss Lane, and he was so delighted. It seems Miss Lane is indeed a savior!
Previously, the house had changed chefs one after another, but none could make food that suited Mr. Kingston’s taste. No matter what he ate, it always triggered vomiting; they had been relying on nutrient injections.
Could this Miss Lane perform magic?
The usually meticulous butler wore a big smile, truly a great blessing.
At this moment, the rain outside had stopped, a new sun rose from the east; the post-rain garden was fresh and clean.
After breakfast, the butler took the children upstairs to do their homework.
Mia Lane sat in the dining chair staring at the Lamborghini in the yard in a daze; it was almost eight o’clock, wasn’t he heading out?
Indeed, she was minimizing the times she met him; whenever caught by his gaze, she felt immensely awkward.
In the grand yet simply luxurious living room, Justin Kingston sat on a customized sofa, his long legs crossed, arms folded across his chest resting against the back of the chair, patiently waiting for the woman to come out to try on the dress.
Really, how long does she need to finish a bowl of noodles!
He was already done, a bowl lay empty on the coffee table before him.
Finally, the man, who hated waiting for people the most, got up and walked towards the dining room.
Bathed in sunlight streaming through the window, Justin Kingston’s features were particularly profound; as he saw the woman in the dining chair lost in thought, his eyes were equally deep and unfathomable.
Following her gaze, she was staring at his car.
Mia Lane hadn’t noticed Justin Kingston approaching and couldn’t help but mumble to herself, "What on earth? Not planning to go to the office?"
"Mrs. Kingston, what did you say?"
She was startled, raising her eyes to see the man standing right in front of her; her heart skipped a beat, like facing an icy cold Buddha statue!
"Your husband is a human, not a ghost." The man eyed her, his lips forming a thin line as he spoke.
Feigning calm, she retracted her gaze, rolled her eyes, and stood moving towards the living room.
Upon entering the living room, a long row of racks filled with dresses caught her eye, vibrant colors, elegant and luxurious, offering a feast for the senses.
"Accompany me to a party this afternoon," Justin Kingston stood by her side firmly, "Pick one for yourself."
Mia Lane was a bit surprised, turning her gaze uncertainly to ask, "You want me to make an appearance?"
Previously, no matter the occasion, he never had a female companion by his side; hence, maintaining zero gossip.
"Do you look unpresentable?" Justin Kingston asked blandly.
Her beautiful eyes glared at him in dissatisfaction!
The man’s tone was light, "You’re not a mistress, you’re the legitimate Mrs. Kingston; making an appearance is only a matter of time, isn’t it?"
He was serious.
"But this is a contract marriage!" Mia Lane knew that if things blew up, it wouldn’t end well for anyone!
"In name and reality, the contract is just for you to adapt, I don’t like forcing things."
Mia Lane was left speechless once more.
"Pick one," the man gave her a quick glance, "Let me see your taste."
Mia Lane knew that if she wanted to see the children every day, she had to do as he wished, she couldn’t anger him.
"Any one I pick here will prove my taste; being able to appear here, they surely aren’t ordinary dresses."
She began to choose seriously; the design of that white dress was terribly familiar, the skirt’s design was uniquely innovative.
"This one then," Mia Lane reached out pointing.
"Mrs. Kingston has such good taste," the maid picked out the dress, unable to resist complimenting, "It’s the latest work by the famous designer Emma, S size."
"Not the latest, this is last season’s," Mia Lane blurted out.
The maid was a bit embarrassed, but Justin Kingston paused slightly, his gaze filled with suspicion as he looked at the woman, though he quickly recovered his composure, "Put it away."
