CHAPTER 17: CHAPTER 17: SOMEONE IS UPSET

"Madam, there’s something... I don’t know if Mr. Kingston has mentioned it to you." The butler’s expression was serious, "But... I think since you’ve become his partner, you have the right to know."

"What is it?"

"He’s been suffering from stomach illness for more than a few days, relying on nutritional injections to sustain life for several years."

Mia was shocked.

The butler said, "He gets nauseated eating any food, except liquids."

"Didn’t he finish the noodles yesterday?" Mia remembered clearly, the bowl he snatched!

The butler looked at her, a comforting smile on his face, "So you’re his savior, this is the first time in years he’s eaten without getting nauseated."

"..." Mia could hardly believe it, is there such a thing?

"But cooking shouldn’t always be left to you, we have chefs here." The butler said, "So I’d like to learn your cooking skills, to personally make meals for Mr. Kingston in the future."

"I’m not skilled in cooking at all." Mia stated honestly, "There’s hardly any skill to speak of."

"Did you cook noodles today? I’m here to learn."

"..." Mia let him into the kitchen.

The Kingston Group towers into the clouds, grand and imposing, the most iconic building in Riventhal.

The employees who just arrived at the company saw today’s headline news and started discussing in disbelief—

"What? CEO Kingston got married? And even has kids?"

"How is this possible?"

"Who is this woman? What a stroke of luck over several lifetimes! Hidden by CEO Kingston for seven years!"

"I always thought CEO Kingston was devoid of emotions, turns out he’s just indifferent to us."

"This woman looks so young."

"Can’t tell a woman’s age these days, right?"

"My heart is broken. Even though I couldn’t possibly be with CEO Kingston, it’s still hard to accept there’s suddenly a woman beside him!"

Upstairs in the President’s office, Finn was embarrassed, the president acted so swiftly, even announced it officially.

A red Bentley headed towards the Kingston Group—

The woman in the driver’s seat was dressed fashionably and exquisitely, especially the long tassel earrings that made her look capable and cool.

After seeing the news this morning, Monica Usher was too angry to eat, a sharpness flashed in her cold eyes.

The phone rang, and she put on her Bluetooth headset—

"President Usher, I only found one piece of information, Mia is working on poverty alleviation in Sunshine Village, close to the villagers, she raised those two kids in Sunshine Village, they can be proven to be hers, but whether they’re CEO Kingston’s is hard to say. Monica Usher instinctively didn’t believe it, how could Justin Kingston have been secretly married for seven years? Since he’s hidden it for seven years, how come he didn’t visit the kids for six years?

She’s only been away from Riventhal for two years, managing the Aeridia branch for him; two years ago, she was at the headquarters in Riventhal.

So how would she not know about Justin Kingston’s relationship status?

The Bentley parked at the Kingston Group’s entrance, she was tall, walked with vigor, and her aura was intensely strong without cracking a smile.

"President Usher??" People who saw her were full of surprise, "Hello, President Usher!"

"Hello, President Usher!"

Is this an urgent return after seeing the news? Everyone thought so.

The respectful greetings made Monica Usher slow her pace, she turned her head and asked, "Has CEO Kingston arrived?"

"He has."

She quickened her pace, heading towards the elevator without looking back! She heard quiet discussions behind her—

"CEO Kingston suddenly announced being married, it must break President Usher’s heart, right?"

"Always thought President Usher and CEO Kingston were a pair, guess that’s over now."

Pressing the elevator button to open the door, Monica Usher’s eyes held a trace of coldness, she was truly upset.

Taking the elevator upstairs, she blocked out those voices.

In the corridor, she walked briskly towards the President’s office!

Through the clean glass wall, she immediately saw the man in suit and tie at the desk, commanding and strategizing.

Seeing him, she suddenly felt soft, a sense of longing, a spark of hope... all kinds of complex emotions interwoven.

"Long time no see." She walked in, a smile on her face, "I’ve returned to share a very happy matter with you."
