Chapter 42: A Woman Who Leaves No Loose Ends
CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42: A WOMAN WHO LEAVES NO LOOSE ENDS
"Compared to my interest in Monica Usher, I think you’re more interested in what happened between me and your son, right?" Mia Lane’s lips curled slightly. "Care to listen?"
Her attitude really displeased Kristina Kingston! But she was indeed interested!
"Go ahead," Kristina Kingston suppressed her feelings, her cold eyes fixated on her.
"Justin Kingston and I have no emotional foundation, but those two kids are indeed his. He’s already done a paternity test," Mia said directly. "Seven years ago, at a charity gala, he was drugged and mistakenly dragged me in as his antidote, which is how I got pregnant."
A glimmer of light flickered in the deep eyes of the middle-aged woman.
Mia said, "When we met for the second time seven years later, it wasn’t planned, nor did I want anything from him. Otherwise, I would have sought him out in the first three difficult years."
What she said made sense, and Kristina Kingston fell into thought.
"The kids want him and hope to have a dad like other kids. Justin wants the children, and to give them a complete family, he got the marriage certificate with me."
"Honestly, getting the certificate was quite passive for me, and I signed a bunch of agreements with him, all of which were harsh terms."
"Mrs. Kingston, with my abilities, I have no way of divorcing your son," she said calmly. "I also want to leave, since I’m so young, a generation younger than your son."
"So, the one who ties the knot should untie it. You’d better talk to him," Mia’s black eyes stared at her, unyielding yet humble, "If he’s willing to divorce me, I promise not to disturb him and Monica Usher, and I wish them a long and happy life together!"
These words made Kristina Kingston very angry! This girl was saying everything flawlessly! Acting all innocent while taking advantage!
Tell me, is there any woman in this world who wouldn’t care about the position of Mrs. Kingston?
The towering Kingston Group is a landmark building in Riventhal, standing under the sunlight as a symbol of power.
Barbara Sutton walked into the office, "President Usher, your office area has been arranged. The design department is crowded. Why insist on squeezing in with them?"
"Design requires inspirational collisions, and being with everyone else boosts morale," Monica Usher said from her office chair. Dressed in a white suit, she looked exceptionally capable and was smiling. "Just help me move the computer over, nothing else is needed."
Barbara handed her an eye cream, "Didn’t you go home last night? Pulled an all-nighter?"
"How did you know?" She reached out to take it, "Thank you."
"The parking spot hasn’t changed at all." Barbara felt sorry, "President Usher, while work is important, health is more important."
"I understand. This design project is very important to CEO Kingston. I can’t slack off. When inspired, I want to complete the design in one go." Monica awkwardly asked, "Are my dark circles very noticeable today? I have to see Justin later."
"It’s fine," the assistant felt pity, "You’re always so beautiful."
She smiled, then took out a mirror and began to apply the eye cream.
President Usher is working so hard and is so outstanding; doesn’t CEO Kingston see that? Barbara felt bad for her.
"Alright then, don’t overthink." She stood up, "I’ll pay attention to my health. Let’s go to the design department together."
As Vice President of the group, Monica Usher also holds a high and authoritative position.
She originally had a spacious and independent office, but now she was willing to move to the design department. This made everyone feel she was approachable and everyone was excited.
Working with the group’s Vice President, the designers were all full of enthusiasm! They must win this battle!
They must design something that the Queen of Eldoria would fall in love with at first sight.
In the car back to Clearwater Bay, Kristina Kingston sat by the window, the dark curtains drawn, not a hint of sunlight coming through.
Kristina Kingston didn’t speak a word on the way.
Maid Mary accompanied her, with two simple braids, pondering and hesitating, finally held her arm, "Madam, don’t be angry. Health is your own."
"I didn’t expect her to be such a woman, unyielding and flawless," Kristina Kingston was surprised. "In every word, she’s the victim!"
"Madam, I always felt Miss Lane didn’t seem like a village woman; she didn’t show a hint of fear when meeting you," Mary couldn’t describe her feeling, "She’s different from ordinary people."
Actually, from this encounter, Kristina Kingston had the same feeling.
