Chapter 904: Always Waiting for Him to Come
CHAPTER 904: CHAPTER 904: ALWAYS WAITING FOR HIM TO COME
"Hailey, how about we host the wedding in our new house’s yard?" Finn Morgan suggested, wanting the wedding to be more meaningful. "I’ll take you to see our new home tomorrow."
"Melissa coming over might be inconvenient." Hailey Hale turned her gaze, kindly saying, "Aren’t we hosting it in Veridia?"
But Finn had his own ideas, "It takes just over ten minutes by helicopter, I’ll arrange everything for her, don’t worry."
"Do your parents agree?" Hailey asked.
"Of course, there are many procedures on the wedding day, and although time is tight, we must follow the schedule. I’m afraid you might get tired, but if we host it at our place, you can rest anytime you need to."
His thoughtfulness moved her deeply, warming her heart.
"Is the yard big?" She hadn’t been there yet.
"It’s nearly a thousand square meters," Finn said. "Today we’re arranging the yard’s scenery; I’ve had some potted plants bought, I’ll take you to see it tomorrow."
Hailey widened her eyes in surprise, "That big?"
"Buying a house in Riventhal has always been my dream," Finn laughed, "It’s just that one person can’t occupy much space, so I’ve been buying one small apartment after another."
He turned to glance at her, then continued, "Thank you for coming into my life, finally giving me a reason to buy a big villa."
"How much does Justin Kingston pay you?" Hailey speculated in shock, "Is your annual salary over ten million? You’re living the life of luxury!"
"The salary isn’t that high," Finn said truthfully while driving. "I have shares in my dad’s company, and the dividends each year, that’s the main income."
"Oh!" She finally understood, nodding, "The son of a landlord, truly not short of money, does this mean I’m marrying into a wealthy family?"
"No, no, no, it’s I, Finn, who is marrying up to Mayor Hale’s daughter."
"Hahaha!"
The car drove towards Veridia, the couple chatting and joking, making the time pass quickly.
In a hospital room in Veridia.
The window was open, the evening breeze was slightly chilly, moving the curtains.
Melissa’s condition seemed to have improved a bit; she had two bowls of porridge for dinner and ate a few slices of chili, feeling a bit more appetite.
"Cindy, aren’t you going to sleep for a while?"
Her mother was very worried, clearly tired and sleepy, but unwilling to close her eyes, as if waiting for something.
Melissa lay on the bed, always gazing out the window.
The moon had climbed up the branches, and the stars were starting to twinkle. She murmured, "Where’s Finn? Isn’t he coming to see me?"
She always knew her daughter hoped for this man, but hearing her say it made Claudia feel a pang of heartache.
Such a small wish, yet Claudia couldn’t fulfill it for her daughter.
It wasn’t possible to have Finn here all the time.
He had a girlfriend to accompany, and work to attend to.
Just then, the door was gently pushed open, the slight sound drawing the mother and daughter’s attention.
Finn and Hailey entered, Finn holding some bread and fruit, Hailey carrying a bouquet of flowers.
"Hello, Auntie," they greeted the elder.
Claudia was initially surprised, then very glad they could come, her face quickly breaking into a smile, "Finn, Hailey!" After all, her daughter had been longing for them all day.
Melissa was overjoyed; she didn’t care who was beside him, as long as he came and she could see him, she felt content.
From the moment he entered, Melissa’s lips slightly curved, her eyes only on Finn.
"Finn..." Her pale lips softly called his name.
Claudia took the fruit and flowers, happily reporting, "Cindy just had two bowls of porridge, she’s doing quite well, she has been looking forward to you two coming."
"There was a little hiccup with the wedding photoshoot today," Finn said. "Otherwise, we wouldn’t have come this early; right now, they should be shooting the night scenes."
