CHAPTER 123: CHAPTER 123: THE SON HAS DEFECTED
In the apartment.
Anne was already playing games with Estelle Sterling. When she saw Eleanor Sterling enter, she immediately dropped Estelle.
"Master, what’s going on between you and Micah Moss? Have you given up on Alaric Faulkner and switched to Micah?"
Hearing this, Estelle raised her head to look at Eleanor, as this concerned the selection of her future daddy, she had to pay attention.
Seeing the gossip gleam in their eyes, Eleanor rolled her eyes, "Stop prying. I’m not choosing anyone at the moment."
Micah was indeed nice, but she didn’t feel any spark, and as for Alaric, that was even more impossible.
Anne, rubbing her chin, started analyzing for Eleanor.
"Oh, is that so? Actually, I think Alaric would be a great choice. He’s handsome and wealthy, only it’s a pity he’s already been with Faye Sterling, which is quite off-putting. Otherwise, you should choose Micah."
Estelle nodded vigorously beside her, "Exactly, Alaric Hades is good, just pick Alaric Hades."
Eleanor: "..."
"Oh no!" She suddenly shouted, as if a thought just struck her.
"What happened?" Both of them looked at her simultaneously.
Eleanor looked annoyed and said, "I forgot to find that mysterious golden backer!"
Obviously, they’d agreed on WeChat to meet at the banquet, but Eleanor got distracted by other matters and just forgot.
Having such a person hidden in the shadows really piqued her curiosity, she was dying to know more.
Who exactly was that person?
When Estelle heard this, her mouth twitched. Was Eleanor talking about the WeChat contact of Alaric Faulkner she had secretly added for her?
Feeling guilty, she looked aside.
She couldn’t let Eleanor know she was the one who sold her WeChat, or she’d be skinned alive even if she didn’t die.
"Master, what mysterious golden backer?" Anne was clueless about what Eleanor was talking about.
"Ahem, nothing. I’m going to my room now, you guys keep playing."
Eleanor decided not to dwell on it much more. There would be another chance to meet him, and by then, she would properly thank this person for helping her.
With that said, Eleanor turned and went into her room.
Anne glanced at Estelle and asked, "Hey, do you know what’s going on?"
Estelle crooked her finger, signaling her to come closer.
Anne immediately leaned in with her ear, "Quick, tell me!"
After hearing Estelle’s words, Anne’s eyes widened, wearing an expression of disbelief.
"No way, you really sold out your master?"
"Shh, keep it down."
Anne muttered to herself, "Seems like you really like Alaric Faulkner, but I think your hopes are dashed. Your master doesn’t like that man."
After all, he was Faye’s man, and Eleanor wasn’t about to pick up someone’s leftovers, which Anne could totally understand.
"No, with me and Ryder, she can’t escape," he chuckled, looking confident.
Seeing Estelle’s mischievous grin, Anne couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for Eleanor.
Did she really know her own son had already defected?
...
At the Sterling Family’s old house, in the living room.
The old man wore an angry expression, questioning, "Gregory! What on earth is going on with Faye? How did she get arrested just like that from attending a coming-of-age party?"
Uncle Martin Sterling and his daughter Chelsea Sterling were also present.
Knowing that Faye got arrested, Chelsea couldn’t hide her schadenfreude. This time she happened to be abroad for fashion week and missed the coming-of-age party at the Sheffield Family.
Completely missed out on all the drama.
Chelsea pretended to show concern, asking, "Yeah, how did Faye end up getting arrested?"
