CHAPTER 3: CHAPTER 3: UNABLE TO REPAY, SO I’LL OFFER MYSELF TO YOU
Over the past few years, he has been investigating her identity thoroughly. Fortunately, she was clever and managed to settle down only after she returned to Veridia City with her son as a new person.
Who would have thought that everything would fall apart now? Estelle Sterling, that treacherous girl, is she trying to kill her?
"Trying to catch up with me? Practice for another two years first." Eleanor Sterling sneered coldly, pressed the accelerator, and her car swiftly maneuvered through the traffic, leaving the vehicles behind her far behind.
Just as Eleanor Sterling was feeling triumphant, the cars behind caught up, hemming her in from both sides as if intending to forcibly stop her.
Seeing the cars closing in, Eleanor Sterling gritted her teeth and recklessly crashed into them.
With a loud bang, the opponent’s car turned out to have a specially reinforced shell, incredibly tough.
Eleanor’s car at that moment was like an egg hitting a rock, spinning wildly as the airbags deployed, and rolled over on the highway.
...
Veridia Central Hospital.
"Miss Sterling, you have a mild concussion, so you need to rest and avoid overexerting your brain during this period."
The nurse finished her instructions and left the hospital room.
Eleanor Sterling rubbed her forehead, furrowing her brows, she called her best friend, informing her of a small situation, advising her to find a way to return by herself for the time being.
After hanging up the phone, Eleanor Sterling gritted her teeth in anger.
That damn man caused her to end up in the hospital. It seems it was his people who brought her here, wasn’t it? While they haven’t discovered her yet, she better find a way to escape quickly.
She feels her identity might still be concealed, maybe he only suspects but has not confirmed it yet.
No time to lose, better slip away now.
Just as Eleanor Sterling got out of bed after lifting the covers, the door to the hospital room suddenly opened, and a small figure walked in.
Looking at the familiar face, Eleanor Sterling felt a jolt in her heart. Why does this kid look somewhat familiar? His brows and eyes resemble those of her son.
Who is he?
Suddenly, Eleanor Sterling recalled something, feeling as miserable as if she’d swallowed filth, her face turned cold.
This is Faye Sterling’s son!
Years ago, Faye Sterling had gotten involved with Alaric Faulkner and even managed to bear him a successor, making her a woman envied by everyone in Veridia City.
Eleanor Sterling thought of her own child who died young, the obstetrician had told her it was a girl and looked very pretty.
Her child was killed by Faye Sterling, yet Faye’s child is alive and well, Eleanor’s eyes chilled like frost.
She clenched her palms to keep the hatred from bursting out, fearing she might lose control and strangle this kid.
Outside the hospital room, there was a sound of footsteps.
"President Faulkner, the suspicious person is inside the hospital room, and the doctor said she has already regained consciousness."
The reason these people couldn’t be sure Eleanor Sterling was Hades was because she was a woman, and they had always assumed Hades was a man.
Eleanor Sterling’s eyes flickered as she looked at Caleb Faulkner standing by her leg, she said fiercely to him: "Don’t make a sound, or I’ll kill you!"
After speaking, she opened a cabinet and stuffed him inside.
Just as she closed the cabinet door, the hospital room door opened.
With Alaric Faulkner entering, a low pressure instantly filled the room.
Suddenly, a delicate and soft figure scented with a light fragrance crashed straight into his chest.
Alaric Faulkner grabbed Eleanor Sterling’s wrist, pressing her with his elbow, pinning her against the cabinet door.
"It hurts, you’re pressing on my chest, obnoxious!" Eleanor Sterling forced out a few tears, looking tearfully at Alaric Faulkner.
A hint of disgust flickered in Alaric Faulkner’s eyes, his voice tinged with coldness, "Don’t move."
Eleanor Sterling twisted a bit more, as if only just realizing Alaric Faulkner’s identity, she feigned admiration, "President Faulkner! So it was you who saved me, such a life-saving grace, I have nothing to repay but myself."
