CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: TWO MILLION FOR ONE MEAL
Eleanor Sterling put in a lot of effort, and soon an alluring aroma wafted out from the kitchen.
The two little ones and Alaric Faulkner were sitting in the living room watching TV.
Estelle Sterling leaned over to Alaric Faulkner, grinning mischievously, "Uncle Faulkner, I have firsthand information on Ma here. Do you want it?"
Alaric Faulkner glanced at him; Estelle Sterling’s eyebrows and eyes were incredibly similar to Eleanor Sterling’s. The mischievous gleam in those lively eyes was quite the same too.
"I don’t need it."
Estelle Sterling was confident, planning to extort Alaric Faulkner, but he didn’t expect the person just wouldn’t take the bait.
He got a bit anxious.
"Are you sure you really don’t want it? It has all sorts of detailed information on Sister Eleanor and the details of people chasing her. Genuine guarantee."
Alaric Faulkner remained unmoved and said lightly, "Do you think I can’t find all that out myself?"
Estelle Sterling snorted and returned to his seat.
He was full of confidence but didn’t expect to hit a snag.
Caleb Faulkner couldn’t help but cover his mouth and laugh. Trying to pull one over on him, now he’s tasting the bitterness of kicking a steel plate, huh?
Eleanor Sterling soon finished cooking a large table full of dishes and brought them all out.
She shouted, "All right, everyone come wash your hands and eat!"
Estelle Sterling looked at the table full of dishes, drooling and eagerly picking up his chopsticks, "Wow, Sister Eleanor, it’s been a while since I’ve tasted your seriously showcased culinary skills."
Eleanor Sterling snorted, "You make it sound like I’ve been abusing you all this time, haven’t let you eat your fill?"
Estelle Sterling’s eyes darted around, deliberately saying, "You haven’t abused me, but you only cook so many delicious things when Uncle Mo is here."
After saying this, he subtly glanced at Alaric Faulkner, a small smile curving his lips.
Trying to get him not to buy the information just now, now he’s surely nervous, huh.
Alaric Faulkner’s eyes slightly narrowed, a hint of coldness quietly overflowing in the depths.
Although it’s clear Estelle Sterling has a sense of revenge, it also proved that there are other men around Eleanor Sterling.
Eleanor Sterling slapped Estelle Sterling on the head, "Stop babbling. Once I earn the money, I’ll make you eat till you’re sick every day."
With the mindset of the desire to extort Alaric Faulkner, Eleanor Sterling looked at him, flashed a smile, and said, "President Faulkner, these are all my carefully prepared dishes. Try them and see if they’re good."
Looking at that stunning smile, Alaric Faulkner’s mind instantly wavered.
Under Eleanor Sterling’s expectant gaze, he picked up a small lamb chop and took a bite.
"How is it?" Eleanor Sterling couldn’t help but ask.
Alaric Faulkner: "Not bad."
Upon hearing this, Eleanor Sterling’s eyes curved in a smile, thinking tonight’s money was quite promising, she happily calculated the upcoming matters.
Seeing Eleanor Sterling not only carefully prepared so many dishes but also cautiously anticipated his evaluation made Alaric Faulkner’s heart stir with slight ripples.
This time was different from last time. Because Eleanor Sterling cooked more dishes, the three were very satisfied with their meal, even Caleb Faulkner had an extra bowl of rice.
Eleanor Sterling collected all the bowls into the kitchen, then walked up to Alaric Faulkner, "President Faulkner, was this meal satisfying enough?"
"Satisfied." Alaric Faulkner nodded.
Eleanor Sterling’s cooking skills were really quite good, even better than what he had eaten in restaurants outside. He was very satisfied.
He hadn’t expected a young lady like Eleanor Sterling to have such good culinary skills, somewhat beyond his expectations.
Hearing Alaric Faulkner’s answer, Eleanor Sterling’s grin deepened a little, "Since that’s the case, shall we settle the bill? The cost of the ingredients is one thousand, but I carried them back myself, so labor costs are doubled, plus cooking fees..."
She counted them and finally looked at Alaric Faulkner with a bright smile, "The total is two million. You surely didn’t bring that much cash, so we’ll deduct it from the fifty million."
Alaric Faulkner’s face darkened, two million for one meal!
Eleanor Sterling might as well rob a bank.
