Chapter 4: The Great Hades and the Little Hades
CHAPTER 4: CHAPTER 4: THE GREAT HADES AND THE LITTLE HADES
Alaric Faulkner’s eyebrows furrowed tighter, his cold gaze carrying a scrutinizing meaning, staring closely at Eleanor Sterling.
Eleanor Sterling tried hard to appear admiring and excited, looking eagerly at Alaric Faulkner.
These men usually don’t like women who are too forward; hopefully, he would let her go soon.
Although he’s very handsome, the thought of him being Faye Sterling’s man made her feel sick.
Despite Eleanor Sterling’s beautiful face, her lovesick expression caused Alaric Faulkner some repulsion.
They got the wrong person, Hades couldn’t possibly be her.
A few seconds later, Alaric Faulkner released Eleanor Sterling and turned around to walk out.
The room returned to silence.
Eleanor Sterling breathed a sigh of relief, finally seeing Alaric Faulkner off; luckily, her acting skills weren’t too bad.
She opened the cabinet door, Caleb Faulkner was still sitting inside obediently, his eyes dark and gentle, softening her heart a little.
Eleanor Sterling patted his shoulder, benevolently saying, "Considering you were so obedient earlier, I’ll let you go, leave now."
After speaking, Eleanor Sterling turned around intending to leave.
Caleb Faulkner spoke faintly, "Take me with you, or I’ll tell him you were just acting."
Damn it! Eleanor Sterling couldn’t help but curse.
...
Outside the corridor.
Alaric Faulkner had just taken two steps with his entourage before suddenly stopping, his bodyguard stepped forward asking, "President Faulkner, what’s wrong?"
"Fooled." Alaric Faulkner clenched his teeth.
Earlier he’d seen that woman’s lips curve into a barely noticeable smile, which he believed was a joy of attaching herself to him, but upon reflection seemed quite off.
That woman was Hades!
Who says Hades can’t be a woman? She was acting to deceive him!
It wasn’t the first time he’s been played, he should’ve known Hades was extremely adept at disguising.
Alaric Faulkner turned back towards the hospital room with a stern face, but the room was already empty.
"Find her! Search all of Veridia City until she’s found!"
Tricked again, Alaric Faulkner’s face darkened with anger.
The first time, that woman hacked his account, stole tens of millions, leaving those tracking her online running in circles.
The second time, he found Hades’ overseas address, went there with people, only to find the place deserted.
This time, she fooled him with a lovesick act, stirring a sense of disgust in him, letting her slip away instinctively.
Sly woman.
...
After bringing Caleb Faulkner back to her apartment, Eleanor Sterling finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Estelle Sterling approached with a cup of water, grinning mischievously, "Sister Eleanor, you worked hard, have some water."
Seeing him, Eleanor Sterling couldn’t help but say, "You little rascal! You almost got me killed this time."
Facing off with Alaric Faulkner, she nearly got exposed, if she hadn’t been quick-witted she would’ve been done for.
Estelle Sterling asked innocently, "Is he very scary?"
Eleanor Sterling rolled her eyes, "Do you think his reputation as Veridia City’s Hades came from nowhere? He’s The Great Hades, I’m Little Hades."
The more she thought about it, the more Eleanor Sterling felt today was too thrilling; she reached out, harshly tugging Estelle Sterling’s ear.
"From now on, you’re not allowed to log into the account again. We’re back in Veridia City to turn over a new leaf, if we’re caught again, I’ll throw you out, saying you stole their money."
Estelle Sterling covered his ear, "Ow, it hurts! Sister Eleanor, there are outsiders here, don’t embarrass me."
Only then did Eleanor Sterling remember she had brought the Faulkner family’s Crown Prince back home.
She turned to look at him and said, "Keep an eye on him, don’t let him send word, after dinner we’ll toss him back to the Faulkner family."
Caleb Faulkner gave Eleanor Sterling a deep look.
Is this his mother?
Her character is so direct, not at all like Faye Sterling, but he quite likes it.
