Chapter 53: Insisting on Sharing a Bed
CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 53: INSISTING ON SHARING A BED
At two o’clock in the morning, all of Eleanor Sterling’s IV drips were completed, and she was so exhausted that she fell asleep.
Dylan Lawson packed up his things, ready to leave.
Before leaving, he looked seriously at Alaric Faulkner, "Are you serious this time?"
"Yes."
Hearing Alaric Faulkner’s answer, Dylan Lawson was a bit surprised.
He scrutinized Alaric Faulkner’s expression again, seemingly not joking.
"What about Faye Sterling?"
Alaric Faulkner’s eyes darkened, but he said nothing.
Dylan Lawson stroked his chin, "Oh, so you plan to ignore her? But it makes sense. Seven years ago, you got drugged, which led to having a son with Faye Sterling. After so many years, if you really wanted to marry her, you would have done so long ago."
After saying all this, Dylan Lawson suddenly became curious about Eleanor Sterling’s background.
He couldn’t resist asking, "Who is this woman? To be able to capture your heart, she must be extraordinary."
Alaric Faulkner replied, "Eleanor Sterling."
"Wait... her surname is also Sterling?" Dylan Lawson noticed something was off.
Then he slapped his thigh, "Oh gosh, could she also be from the Sterling Family?"
Alaric Faulkner gave him a glance, "Yes, the oldest daughter of the Sterling Family."
Dylan Lawson’s mouth twitched, "I see, you’ve managed to capture both sisters of the Sterling Family."
Alaric Faulkner’s gaze turned icy. Dylan Lawson rubbed his nose and said earnestly, "Alright, brother, since you like her, go after her. I support you."
After sending Dylan Lawson off, Alaric Faulkner returned to the room.
Seeing Eleanor Sterling’s sleeping face, a complex expression flashed in his eyes.
When Dylan Lawson asked him if he was serious, it seemed he had no hesitation at all.
He had only met Eleanor Sterling for the fourth time, but was already so certain?
And there were some people he took years to accept, yet Eleanor’s attraction to him was inexplicable.
Every part of her felt familiar to him.
As if they had known each other for a long time.
He reached out and pulled the blanket over Eleanor Sterling slightly higher, finally lying down beside her and gently holding her in his arms.
Eleanor Sterling furrowed her brows slightly but did not wake up.
She snuggled into Alaric Faulkner’s embrace, found a comfortable position, and drifted back into a deep sleep.
Alaric Faulkner held her tight and closed his eyes.
The next morning, at dawn.
After a night’s rest, Eleanor Sterling felt refreshed and re-energized.
Her eyes opened to a sturdy chest, and due to the sleeping position, the collar was slightly askew.
Eleanor Sterling raised her hand to rub her eyes and confirmed again before shifting her gaze upward to the handsome face.
Oh my, Alaric Faulkner!
Yesterday, she was framed by Faye Sterling and then rescued by Alaric Faulkner. He brought her to a private villa and even got a doctor to treat her.
Later, she somehow fell asleep groggily, and upon waking, found herself in Alaric Faulkner’s arms.
This is just too embarrassing.
Eleanor Sterling asked, "Why... why are you here?"
Alaric Faulkner propped his head up with one hand, in a lazy manner, his allure making one involuntarily lose focus.
He raised an eyebrow, looking at Eleanor Sterling, and countered, "If not here, where else should I be?"
"There are so many rooms here, do you really have to squeeze into my bed?"
"This is my bed."
"..."
Alright, this is his territory; she indeed had no reason to say anything.
Eleanor Sterling quickly got up, "Thank you for everything you did yesterday. I’m fine now, so I’ll be leaving."
"Wait."
Eleanor Sterling paused and looked back at him, that look, clearly, what else is there?
