Chapter 72: He Likes Eleanor Sterling
CHAPTER 72: CHAPTER 72: HE LIKES ELEANOR STERLING
In the parking lot, Micah Moss placed the suitcase in the car.
He instinctively opened the driver’s door, and Eleanor Sterling didn’t stop him.
Micah was her assistant, taking care of many of her affairs, both big and small, with thoroughness and attention.
The car smoothly cruised down the road.
Eleanor Sterling said, "What would you like to eat? It’s my treat."
Micah Moss smiled lightly, his handsome face relaxing, "Nothing outside beats what you cook."
Eleanor Sterling grinned, "We haven’t seen each other for a while; since when did you become so eloquent?"
Micah quickly replied, "No, I’m serious. You’ve always been amazing."
After speaking, a rare hint of subtle shyness flickered across his face. To conceal his feelings, he focused his attention on driving.
Although Eleanor frequently left Estelle Sterling in his care, strictly speaking, she rarely cooked for him.
It was only recently in Veridia City that she had started cooking more often.
Upon hearing Micah praise her, Eleanor chuckled softly, "Alright, in that case, take us back to the apartment, and I’ll cook for you as a welcome gesture."
Micah’s lips curled up, feeling satisfied.
He recalled the unsettling look Alaric Faulkner had just given and asked, "Eleanor, does that Mr. Faulkner have an interest in you?"
Thinking about the various incidents with Alaric Faulkner, Eleanor couldn’t help but furrow her brows, "He’s just a mad dog. No need to pay him any mind."
Upon hearing Eleanor’s resistance to Alaric, Micah’s mood finally relaxed.
He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but earlier it seemed Alaric Faulkner looked at Eleanor differently.
Since Eleanor wasn’t interested in him, he had nothing to worry about.
He had liked Eleanor Sterling, secretly, for many years.
But Eleanor was too dazzling, and he wasn’t confident enough to win her over if he confessed.
So he continued to stay by her side, content just to look at her.
Micah couldn’t help but remind, "He seems complicated. You’d better keep your distance."
Eleanor rolled her eyes, "I know."
She wished she could stay far away from Alaric Faulkner, but he always shamelessly clung to her.
The car arrived at The Elysian Apartments, and Micah went upstairs with Estelle Sterling while Eleanor went to buy groceries.
This apartment was rented by Eleanor, and Micah hadn’t been there before.
He sat on the sofa, playing games with Estelle Sterling. In the midst of an intense moment, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Micah said, "I’ll get it. Is your mom back? I should have gone with her to help with the bags."
Eleanor had declined his offer, saying he’d been on the plane for hours and must be tired, so there was no need to go to any trouble.
Micah put down the game controller and walked over to open the door.
The next second, his smile froze.
Outside the door, three people stood in orderly fashion.
"Alaric... Mr. Faulkner? Why are you here?"
Alaric Faulkner looked indifferent. Beside him, Jasper Faulkner carried large bags, appearing to contain food, along with wine and other items.
Estelle Sterling heard the commotion and quickly came out. Seeing the items in Jasper Faulkner’s hands, with his stomach already growling, he immediately dug into the bags.
"Wow, what delicious food?"
Alaric Faulkner naturally walked into the room, opened the shoe cabinet, and changed into slippers.
Following behind him, Jasper Faulkner imitated his actions, putting on his own shoes, and then placed the food on the table.
Watching them make themselves at home, Micah felt as if struck by lightning, unable to regain his composure for a long time.
