CHAPTER 774: CHAPTER 774: AT WORST, WE’LL DIE TOGETHER
Eleanor Sterling sighed softly.
The two of them simply embraced lightly, not speaking further as a silent intimacy spread around them.
Alaric Faulkner curiously asked, "When did you find out about this?"
Eleanor gave a light hum, unable to resist pinching the soft flesh at his waist. Alaric grunted but didn’t stop her.
In fact, she had already been somewhat suspicious before, but didn’t think much of it because she trusted Alaric.
A person who seldom went on business trips suddenly starting to travel frequently was indeed strange.
"You never used to travel for work, but suddenly you’re so busy, and you’ve arranged so many bodyguards to keep everything under such strict watch. It’s like you’re afraid I won’t notice, isn’t it?"
Alaric chuckled bitterly. He knew Eleanor was smart and that she would find out sooner or later.
But he didn’t expect it to be so soon; he thought he could wait until he acquired the antidote.
Alaric hugged Eleanor tightly and chuckled softly, "Eleanor, I originally intended to get the antidote to cure you, but now I’ve caused you more suffering. I don’t know if this is a blessing or a curse."
Eleanor hugged Alaric back, murmuring, "How do you know it’s a curse? I, Eleanor Sterling, never admit defeat. We haven’t reached the last moment; how do you know we’ll die?
We’re not alone in this fight. We have my mentor, Thomas Quincy, Clara Thornton, and other top talents with us. What are you afraid of?"
Alaric smiled. Suddenly, he felt a bit foolish for his previous behavior.
Upon hearing that Eleanor was poisoned and about to die, he lost his mind and was led by the nose.
Now he was slightly grateful that they hadn’t reached the point of breaking apart.
He lowered his head to kiss Eleanor on the cheek, "No matter what happens in the future, the two of us will face it together."
Eleanor raised her head, searching for his lips.
"Alright, at worst, we’ll die together."
Knock, knock, the sound of knocking came.
"Hey, Alaric Faulkner, you have poison in your body. Don’t do anything that might disrupt the toxin balance in Eleanor Sterling’s body."
The two separated and turned to see Thomas Quincy leaning against the doorway, looking at them with a meaningful expression.
Eleanor frowned. How much of a buzzkill could this person be?
Didn’t he see they were in the middle of something intimate? And yet, he dared to brazenly interrupt.
Feeling the wolf-like gazes on him, Thomas Quincy innocently raised his hands, "Ahem, I just wanted to say there’s still someone waiting for you outside. You don’t need to look at me as if you’re unsatisfied."
In hindsight, he regretted being the one to step forward; he should’ve let someone else come to call them.
Now, it seemed he was being treated like a criminal.
The others were likely Tristan Keating and the rest, possibly regarding family matters. A cold hardness suddenly appeared on Eleanor’s face.
Eleanor got out of bed, saying, "Then let’s go see them."
Alaric quickly stepped forward to support her.
The three of them went into the living room together.
There, several people were already waiting. As Eleanor approached, they all looked in her direction, a variety of scrutinizing and complicated glances settling on her.
Eleanor walked over to an empty seat, sat down, and asked, "What do you want to say?"
Tristan Keating frowned and asked, "Are you my child?"
"Yes." Eleanor nodded.
Upon hearing that, he seemed even more puzzled and murmured, "What’s going on? Then how did that happen with Yunyun..."
