CHAPTER 816: CHAPTER 816: COULD SHE HAVE RECOGNIZED HIM?
Eleanor Sterling quickly received the news that Tristan Keating had already captured Giselle Keating, Hugo Griffin, and the others.
She also saw the statement of disassociation from Tristan Keating.
Staring at the phone screen, at the video of Tristan Keating announcing at the press conference that she was part of the Keating Family, Eleanor couldn’t look away for a long time.
She didn’t know why, but she used to especially want to have her own family and gain recognition, and now that Tristan Keating really did so, she felt a bit at a loss.
Alaric Faulkner took the phone from her hand and said, "Alright, now that the Keating Family has done as you wished, are you satisfied?"
Eleanor sighed and laughed, "Yes, it just feels a bit unreal."
Alaric held her in his arms and gently kissed her.
"This is real, and you don’t have to worry about it anymore. Next, we’ll focus all our efforts on dealing with Franklin Faulkner."
"Okay, anyway, we’ve set a trap for him and won’t let him escape."
Alaric looked at Eleanor, wanting to kiss her again, but unexpectedly, a knock came on the door, and Mrs. Faulkner’s voice sounded from outside.
"Eleanor, are you there?"
Eleanor immediately pushed Alaric away.
Being pushed away so forcefully, Alaric was a bit displeased. He glared at Eleanor, then deliberately stole a quick kiss on her lips, causing Eleanor to roll her eyes at him.
Not knowing what was proper, if Mrs. Faulkner saw this, how would she explain herself being hugged and kissed by a stranger?
Currently, Alaric was wearing a human skin mask, appearing as a complete stranger.
After tidying herself up, Eleanor stood up to open the door. Mrs. Faulkner was standing at the entrance, and she asked, "Eleanor, are you busy?"
"Not too busy," she thought for a moment, then added, "I was just discussing some important matters with my assistant."
Mrs. Faulkner looked past Eleanor and saw Alaric. She squinted and said, "Your assistant looks somewhat familiar."
Eleanor’s heart skipped a beat; could she have recognized him?
Alaric was, after all, her son; it wouldn’t be surprising for her to recognize him.
Should she admit it?
"Mom, actually..." Eleanor hesitated.
"I got it!" Mrs. Faulkner exclaimed, forcing Eleanor to shut her mouth. She looked at Mrs. Faulkner, feeling a bit nervous inside.
Mrs. Faulkner suddenly realized, "Your assistant somewhat resembles one of Alaric’s former bodyguards, I remember clearly."
What? Resembles a bodyguard?
Eleanor nearly couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.
She hadn’t expected the dignified President Faulkner to be mistaken for a bodyguard, but this also meant that Mrs. Faulkner hadn’t recognized Alaric. Eleanor lightly coughed and made a great effort to stifle her laughter.
She casually said, "Really? I hadn’t noticed."
"He does look quite similar."
To prevent Mrs. Faulkner from scrutinizing further and discovering Alaric’s identity, Eleanor changed the topic and asked, "Mom, did you need anything from me?"
Mrs. Faulkner shook her head and said, "Nothing important, just wanted to tell you that the doctor is still looking for you, so don’t worry. Since you’re busy, I won’t disturb you anymore."
After speaking, she turned around and left.
Only then did Eleanor let out a sigh of relief, closing the door and walking back.
Alaric reached out and pulled her into his arms. Eleanor fell into his embrace and whispered with a hint of surprise, "What are you doing? You need to remember your current role, you’re just a bodyguard!"
"Yes, but this bodyguard is about to break the rules."
With that, Alaric pushed Eleanor down.
