Chapter 817: Defending Eleanor Sterling
CHAPTER 817: CHAPTER 817: DEFENDING ELEANOR STERLING
The Faulkner Family became lively once again.
Many reporters, upon hearing the news, gathered at the Faulkner Family’s doorstep, hoping to interview Eleanor Sterling.
A servant came to report, "Madam, the reporters have been blocking the entrance all morning. Should we have them driven away?"
"Not for now."
The servant nodded and turned to leave.
Eleanor Sterling glanced at Alaric Faulkner and said, "I think now is a good opportunity. Through the media, let Franklin Faulkner know that I’m running out of time, to hasten his actions."
Alaric Faulkner nodded and said, "Sure, that’s possible. Sorry to trouble you with the acting."
After a moment, Eleanor Sterling, wearing a mask and looking frail, appeared before the reporters with the help of a servant.
Upon seeing Eleanor Sterling, the reporters surged forward, surrounding her, with black-clad bodyguards appearing behind to hold back the journalists.
Camera shutters clicked and flashed.
"Miss Sterling, it’s said that the Keating Family has declared your identity, are you their daughter?"
"How did you and Giselle Keating switch identities for so many years?"
"It’s heard that you and Alaric Faulkner are already divorced. Why are you still living at the Faulkner Family residence?"
"Have you returned to the Faulkner Family to fight for the inheritance?"
Eleanor Sterling feigned a weak appearance, coughing several times before speaking, "Yes, I am the Keating Family’s daughter. Regarding the identity swap with Giselle Keating, I believe you can look into it."
These journalists have many methods, they can definitely uncover quite a bit from even the slightest clues.
After speaking, Eleanor Sterling swayed a few times, appearing as if she were about to faint. Alaric Faulkner immediately stepped forward to support her.
The reporters gasped in surprise.
"Miss Sterling, what is happening to you?"
Alaric Faulkner expressionlessly replied in a cold voice, "Madam just went through a life-and-death separation with President Faulkner, so she’s unwell."
The reporters, suddenly realizing, hurriedly continued photographing.
Secretly noting this down, sensing they had plenty of big news to write.
"If you have nothing else to ask, I’ll be taking Madam back."
Though the reporters felt this bodyguard was quite imposing and a bit overbearing, upon hearing Eleanor Sterling was leaving, they immediately put everything aside.
Their questions were not yet finished.
The reporters quickly continued asking, "It’s said that Alaric Faulkner and you are divorced, and he’s now unexpectedly deceased, leaving a large estate. Are you back at the Faulkner Family for the inheritance?"
Alaric Faulkner’s eyes narrowed slightly. Previously, he had left a hidden concern, letting others view Eleanor Sterling in such a way, and he was determined to clear her name later.
"Rumors are not to be trusted. The love between Madam and President Faulkner is as strong as gold. Your news sources need a change." Alaric Faulkner said in a deep voice.
Eleanor Sterling pinched him lightly, indicating he should not speak carelessly, as they didn’t know how these reporters would report the story once they went back.
"Nonsense!"
Suddenly, a stern voice sounded from the back.
Everyone turned in surprise to look.
Only to see the two elderly members of the Faulkner Family, rumored to be bedridden, appearing behind the reporters, looking at them with angry faces, clearly quite upset.
"Old Master Faulkner," the reporters exclaimed in surprise.
"Little Eleanor will always be part of the Faulkner Family. She has borne two children for Alaric, so even if the family estate goes to her in the future, there is nothing inappropriate," the old master said gruffly.
"Do not report irresponsibly, or I will not let it slide!"
The reporters were amazed, realizing that Old Master Faulkner himself came out to defend Eleanor Sterling, indicating that the previous rampant news was false.
Could it be that Alaric Faulkner and Eleanor Sterling hadn’t actually divorced at all? Was that just a rumor?
Linking it to the matter of Giselle Keating, the reporters felt they might have grasped the truth.
Seeing the elderly couple out of the hospital, Eleanor Sterling hurriedly moved through the crowd to approach them, "Grandpa, Grandma, why have you been discharged?"
Old Master Faulkner snorted coldly, "The Faulkner Family is in chaos, if we didn’t get discharged, I’m afraid the family would collapse."
