Chapter 818: Who Will Inherit the Family Head Position
CHAPTER 818: CHAPTER 818: WHO WILL INHERIT THE FAMILY HEAD POSITION
In the Faulkner Family’s living room, a crowd filled the room to capacity.
The eldest uncle, Gregory Faulkner, and his wife, Juliet Sterling, along with their two sons and daughters-in-law.
The second uncle, Gideon Faulkner, had his entire family present, as well as the younger uncle, Garrett Faulkner, and his wife and children, all gathered together.
They all rushed over upon hearing that the elders were discharged from the hospital and returned home. Eleanor Sterling looked at the Faulkner family members each doing their own thing, and then at her side, where only she and Jasper Faulkner were present, feeling somewhat isolated.
Old Master Faulkner sat in the central seat, his gaze sweeping over the crowd with a slightly complicated expression, finally glancing inadvertently at Alaric Faulkner.
After pausing for a moment, the old master announced, "A country cannot go a day without its leader, and I can no longer manage the Faulkner Family. It’s time to hand it over to you young ones to run."
"Recently, the Faulkner Family has been too chaotic and there must be someone who can lead the way. Therefore, after much consideration, I’ve decided to convene a family meeting in a few days."
Everyone looked at each other in confusion, exchanging glances.
Eleanor Sterling looked at Old Master Faulkner in surprise and asked, "Grandfather, are you going to announce the Faulkner Family successor?"
After hearing Eleanor Sterling’s words, everyone hurriedly looked towards Old Master Faulkner, seemingly wanting to know the answer too.
"Yes, that’s right." Old Master Faulkner had a calm expression.
Gregory Faulkner, upon hearing this, eagerly asked, "Dad, who are you going to give the position of Family Head to? Currently, there are quite a few people in the Faulkner Family who can inherit the position of Family Head."
After saying that, his eyes swept around the room.
Old Master Faulkner cast him a glance and said lightly, "I have my conclusions on this matter, you don’t need to worry about it."
These words, once dropped, set off a storm, causing a buzz of excited discussion among the Faulkner family members.
"How can we not care, this concerns our future, we must be prepared."
"That’s right, it’s not unreasonable for us to want to know."
"Is it possible that the Faulkner Family chooses the Family Head without notifying us in advance?"
Hearing the crowd’s discussion, Old Master Faulkner squinted his eyes, his face inscrutable, and said, "You will naturally know when the time comes."
The crowd once again expressed dissatisfied protests, "Dad, how come this is still a secret? Please just tell us."
"Exactly, telling us in advance also allows us to prepare properly."
Old Master Faulkner snorted disdainfully and said coldly, "Prepare for what? Prepare to plot against your own family members?"
Having their scheme exposed, Gregory Faulkner quickly said, "Dad, you’re overthinking this, we are all one family, how could we possibly do such a thing."
Faulkner family members also showed embarrassed expressions, instantly too timid to say much more.
"This matter is settled."
After Old Master Faulkner finished speaking, he said no more and got up to go upstairs with Mrs. Faulkner.
The Faulkner family members had various expressions, one by one rising to leave.
Seeing this, Eleanor Sterling gave Alaric Faulkner a look, and the two of them went upstairs together to their room.
Back in the room, Eleanor Sterling curiously asked Alaric Faulkner, "Why does Grandfather suddenly want to announce his resignation?"
Alaric Faulkner chuckled softly, "It was my arrangement."
"What?" Eleanor Sterling was shocked, not expecting it to be Alaric Faulkner’s arrangement, which means... her eyes widened, "He knows about your fake death?"
"Yes, I just told him last night, almost got skinned alive."
"..."
Eleanor Sterling couldn’t help but laugh. The two elders loved Alaric Faulkner, their grandson, dearly, and this kind of shock would indeed be hard on them. It would be strange if he wasn’t skinned alive.
"So is the Family Head position for you?" Eleanor Sterling asked curiously again.
