CHAPTER 822: CHAPTER 822: LET’S JUST COME CLEAN
In the evening, there was a rhythmic knock on Eleanor Sterling’s room door. She glanced over and went to open it.
Sure enough, it was Alaric Faulkner outside.
After Eleanor opened the door, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pushed her inside, then closed the door.
Once the door closed, Mrs. Faulkner’s room door not far away opened. Ever since she became suspicious, she had been paying attention to Eleanor’s room.
She finally caught them!
Eleanor really was involved with that bodyguard.
Mrs. Faulkner opened her door and quietly moved to stand by Eleanor’s door. She pressed her ear to it, eavesdropping on what was happening inside.
Inside the room, Alaric embraced Eleanor in his arms and said, "Finally, we’re alone. I was watched by my mom all day today."
At this, Eleanor couldn’t help but curl her lips into a mischievous smile. She laughed, "Then how dare you still come over? Aren’t you afraid she’ll find out?"
"She’s already asleep."
Eleanor raised her head to look at Alaric. The face was unfamiliar, but those eyes were the ones she knew well, filled with deep passion and heat.
She reached out to touch his face, "You’ve really had it tough."
"It’s not tough. I’ll recover soon enough."
Eleanor shook her head, "I meant it’s tough for you having to return to your room now. At a critical moment, don’t let anything unexpected happen."
Alaric frowned slightly, looking at Eleanor with a bit of resentment, "Are you sure you want me to go back? You can bear to leave me alone in a deserted room?"
Eleanor burst into laughter, surprised that Alaric would even say something like leaving someone alone in a deserted room.
The two had been snatching moments to be alone, even though they hadn’t been apart for long, but Alaric wanted to be together all the time.
"Then let me kiss you a couple of times, and then you can go back to your room."
Just a couple of kisses weren’t enough, but Alaric didn’t say anything, deciding to kiss first and talk later.
He lowered his head and pecked lightly twice on Eleanor’s lips.
Knock knock, there was a knock on the door.
Eleanor’s body stiffened and she looked outside, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes.
"Who is it?"
"Eleanor, it’s me. Are you free? I’d like to talk to you, let me in."
"..."
Eleanor looked at Alaric, then glanced over at the wardrobe.
Maybe she should let Alaric hide in it.
Seeing through Eleanor’s thought, Alaric glared at her. He whispered, "Don’t think about hiding me, let’s just face it."
He was fed up with being watched, and letting Mrs. Faulkner know would just add another unstable element.
Eleanor shook her head helplessly. At this point, it seemed the only option was to let Mrs. Faulkner know; otherwise, Alaric would only suffer more days.
Eleanor went over to open the door.
Once the door opened, Mrs. Faulkner’s gaze went straight to Alaric. She saw the bodyguard was indeed in Eleanor’s room, her expression turning somewhat complex.
"Mom, come in and let’s talk."
Eleanor invited Mrs. Faulkner in, then closed the door.
Mrs. Faulkner sat on the sofa, her eyes frequently glancing at Alaric, seemingly displeased.
She had clearly just warned him during the day, yet now he was here again bothering Eleanor—truly insolent.
Eleanor sat across from Mrs. Faulkner, the atmosphere tense and awkward.
"Eleanor, your mom knows everything. Let’s be straightforward. I’m not against you finding someone new, but isn’t it a bit too soon? Alaric’s body is not yet cold, sigh..."
Eleanor glanced at the not-yet-cold Alaric, raising her eyebrows. The expression in her eyes was clear: you handle this big mess yourself.
Alaric sighed helplessly and said, "Mom."
Mrs. Faulkner’s face suddenly hardened, and she sternly snapped, "Mom? What mom? I didn’t give birth to you, don’t call me mom."
