CHAPTER 825: CHAPTER 825: I’LL BUY YOU ANOTHER ONE
Alaric Faulkner stepped on the gas pedal, and the car quickly accelerated.
The car behind was caught off guard, left far behind. By the time they reacted and tried to catch up, Alaric was already weaving through the traffic, leaving them in the dust.
"Daddy is amazing."
The two little ones saw the car being left behind and immediately flattered him excitedly.
A metallic ’bang’ sounded inside the car, and Eleanor Sterling’s face changed slightly, "They’ve opened fire."
Alaric Faulkner remained calm and collected, his thin lips curling into a cold smile, "This car is modified, it’s bulletproof."
He maneuvered the car, weaving left and right, while the car behind relentlessly pursued.
Eleanor glanced back, seeing someone poking their head out and reaching to shoot at them.
She looked back worriedly and comforted, "Estelle, Caleb, don’t be afraid, your daddy will soon shake them off."
Estelle Sterling’s eyes flashed with disdain, and she scoffed, "Sister Eleanor, I’m not scared. You don’t need to worry, we’ll be out of danger soon."
Caleb Faulkner also chimed in, "Mommy, sit tight, we’ll be safe soon."
"..."
Eleanor Sterling, who originally intended to comfort the two kids, was instead comforted by them.
She felt slightly amused and helpless, while internally marveling at how her son had grown. In such a short time, he was already capable of handling things independently.
’Bang bang bang’ bullets rained down like drops on the car’s walls, unable to harm them at all.
The car persisted, chasing closely, drawing near.
Eleanor frowned, "We must shake them off, or we’ll remain exposed to danger. Should we run out of gas, we’ll be trapped."
Alaric Faulkner looked unperturbed, seemingly unconcerned about their situation.
He glanced in the rearview mirror and said, "Estelle, Caleb, take action."
Estelle Sterling pulled out a backpack and took out a drone from it.
She unfolded the stand and then said, "Daddy, open the sunroof."
Alaric Faulkner pressed a button, and the car’s sunroof slowly opened, allowing the drone to fly out.
Caleb Faulkner took out a laptop, placing it on his knees.
He was operating the drone.
Estelle Sterling and Caleb Faulkner huddled together, watching the laptop’s monitoring screen.
The drone flew towards the car behind, eventually hovering in front of their car.
The people inside saw a drone buzzing in front like a fly and said, "They released a drone."
"Shoot it down!"
"Yes."
The person opened the car window, extending a black gun, aiming at the drone.
Caleb Faulkner saw the monitor’s screen, his expression changing slightly. He said, "Not good, they’re targeting our drone, Estelle, act quickly."
Estelle Sterling, quick-eyed and deft, pressed the button.
With a puff, a big splash of ink instantly spewed out, covering the assailant’s car window. Even the person sticking their hand out to shoot the drone got splattered, turning into a completely ink-covered figure.
Bang, the drone was hit and fell to the ground.
Seeing this, Estelle Sterling sighed with distress, "Oh no! My drone, the latest modification, I didn’t even get to play with it long enough."
Alaric Faulkner smiled and teased, "Daddy will get you another one."
Only then did Estelle Sterling smile.
The car behind, its vision obstructed, slowed down for a moment. Within that brief moment, Alaric Faulkner had managed to widen the distance.
