CHAPTER 839: CHAPTER 839: OUT OF IMMEDIATE DANGER

Jasper Faulkner, eyes red, pushed the car’s performance to its limits, reaching the hospital in twenty minutes.

Hazel Langley was rushed into the emergency room.

Eleanor Sterling and Jasper Faulkner waited outside the door.

Seeing Jasper Faulkner’s worried expression, Eleanor Sterling comforted, "Don’t worry, I just checked her pulse. We arrived in time, so there weren’t any severe consequences."

Jasper Faulkner took a deep breath, his handsome face clouded with a sinister look. He gritted his teeth and said, "I’m worried about the components of that smoke, whether they might be harmful to her."

The incident with him and Alaric Faulkner being poisoned had left them all frazzled.

If something similar happened to Hazel Langley now, he would genuinely consider killing Franklin Faulkner.

Clearly, Eleanor Sterling thought of this too, and her face fell, her heart clenched.

...

Meanwhile, inside the villa.

The white smoke had dispersed, and Alaric Faulkner led a team into the villa.

The place was eerily quiet, abandoned, with only a large screen. The contact had been severed earlier when Hazel Langley was rescued.

"The villa seems empty, let’s leave."

Alaric Faulkner was aware that Franklin Faulkner wouldn’t expose himself to danger, indicating their game would continue.

He waved his hand to leave, but as he turned, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

One of the men behind him immediately asked in surprise, "Sir, is there something wrong?"

Alaric Faulkner took a step forward and walked straight upstairs.

With a loud ’bang’, he kicked open one of the room doors. The man hiding inside was startled by the noise.

"You... you stay away."

Alaric Faulkner smirked coldly, "As expected, someone was hiding here. I thought remote control couldn’t accomplish everything."

The man looked regretful; Alaric Faulkner had almost left when he suppressed a slight cough due to an itchy throat, which had been heard.

"Take him away!"

The man was immediately taken away.

At the hospital, the light in the emergency room went off, and Eleanor Sterling and Jasper Faulkner immediately approached.

"Doctor, how’s the patient?"

The doctor, clad in a white coat, calmly said, "She’s temporarily out of life-threatening danger, now moved to a ward for observation, waiting for her to wake up on her own."

Jasper Faulkner couldn’t bother with anything else and turned directly towards the ward.

Eleanor Sterling stayed back to listen to further instructions.

"How is it going?" Alaric Faulkner’s voice sounded from behind, and Eleanor Sterling turned to see him approaching.

"She’s out of danger, but still under observation. The doctor said she could wake up in two to three days if nothing unexpected happens."

Thinking about the white smoke earlier, Eleanor Sterling immediately checked Alaric Faulkner up and down.

"Are you alright? Did you catch anyone?"

"Didn’t catch Franklin Faulkner, but found a small fry to vent some frustration."

Eleanor Sterling sighed regretfully, "No worries, we’ll get him next time."

"Let’s go, let’s interrogate that person. We might get some useful information," said Alaric Faulkner, wrapping an arm around Eleanor Sterling’s shoulder.

With Jasper Faulkner watching over the ward, Eleanor Sterling wasn’t too worried and left with Alaric Faulkner at ease.

The two quickly arrived at another villa.

The man was locked inside, covered in blood, apparently having been tortured before their arrival.

"Sir, we couldn’t get anything out of him."

Upon seeing Alaric Faulkner, the man immediately lunged forward, begging for mercy, "Don’t kill me, I know nothing! I really know nothing..."

Noticing the wet patch on his pant leg, Eleanor Sterling assessed that it seemed he had been scared to the point of urination, showing extreme terror.

He hadn’t spoken a word, which likely meant he truly knew nothing.

Franklin Faulkner probably wouldn’t have entrusted him with anything important, so this man was just a pawn.

She tugged Alaric Faulkner and said, "Let’s go."
