Eleanor Sterling took a deep breath and looked towards Jasper Faulkner, "Hazel’s son is already at the Faulkner Family, you should go see him. I’ll have someone keep an eye here, and don’t let Samuel know about Hazel’s situation, I’m afraid he’ll worry."

Samuel Langley, Estelle Sterling, and Caleb Faulkner were playing games together in the living room.

Being around the same age, they quickly formed a tight-knit group.

When Jasper Faulkner returned, this was the scene he saw—all three children with their backs to him; he recognized Estelle and Caleb’s backs immediately.

Thus, he could instantly identify which one was Samuel Langley.

He was wearing a baseball cap, and the curly natural waves of hair peeking out looked especially stylish.

Jasper Faulkner didn’t step forward to disturb them, just stood behind and watched for a while, until Estelle felt a piercing gaze and turned around to see Jasper.

"Uncle, you’re back."

Samuel Langley also turned his head, and at this moment, Jasper could clearly see Samuel’s face.

His eyes were very similar to Hazel Langley’s, the perfect almond shape, blinking as if electrifying, while the rest of his features had a somewhat familiar look.

When Samuel saw Jasper, he grinned, revealing two small canine teeth.

It was obvious that Samuel was very outgoing and not shy at all.

"Uncle?" He called out, following Estelle’s lead.

Estelle rolled her eyes at him, "You’re Hazel’s son, and Uncle is Hazel’s man, so you should call him Daddy."

Samuel laughed, confidently calling out, "Daddy."

Hearing the child crisp and clear voice calling him Daddy, Jasper inexplicably felt a peculiar sensation welling up inside him.

On the way back, he thought he wouldn’t be able to accept Samuel, but to his surprise, he had adjusted quickly without any barriers.

"Estelle, why is he ignoring me?"

Having lived abroad for a long time, Samuel’s accent in his native tongue was slightly odd; he looked at Jasper curiously.

Hearing his words, Jasper smiled, stepped forward, "I just didn’t react right away, hi, I’m your Daddy, let’s take care of each other."

Samuel also reached out his hand, grasping Jasper’s broad palm.

"What about my mommy?" Samuel asked, tilting his head.

Jasper then remembered Eleanor’s instructions, he said, "She went for a film shoot, might be a few days until she’ll be back."

Samuel seemed accustomed to Hazel Langley’s prolonged absences and paid it no mind, turning back, "Okay, let’s continue the game."

Jasper frowned, asking, "Aren’t you curious about her situation?"

He didn’t want to tell Samuel about Hazel’s situation but felt as though Samuel seemed too indifferent.

Samuel shrugged, "I’m used to it already, sometimes it’s normal not seeing Mommy for a year."

Jasper was taken aback, realizing he had misunderstood him.

Samuel wasn’t indifferent, but had grown numb due to the longstanding habit.

For some reason, Jasper suddenly felt a pang of heartache.

This can’t go on with the child; while he’s still young, there’s an opportunity to make proper adjustments.
