CHAPTER 846: CHAPTER 846: ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?
In the Faulkner Family’s living room, Clara Thornton was lazily sitting on the sofa playing with her phone.
She had been hiding before, but Eleanor Sterling’s people found her, and before she met Eleanor, she was trying to find a way to continue leaving.
Later, when she met Eleanor Sterling, she realized she had made a huge blunder.
Clara Thornton almost wanted to dig a hole and hide.
How could she have misunderstood such an embarrassing situation? So nothing happened between her and that man, Thomas Quincy.
There was indeed an accident at the banquet that day, but Thomas Quincy rushed in at the last moment to save her.
She was unscathed, nothing happened at all!
Recalling this incident, Clara Thornton slapped her forehead, feeling like she was slipping back into a socially awkward situation from which she couldn’t recover.
Footsteps sounded from upstairs, and a woman descended the stairs and sat down opposite Clara Thornton.
Clara Thornton was feeling depressed and didn’t bother to look at her.
However, Clara Thornton knew about this woman’s identity; she heard that she was Nancy Nash, the eldest daughter of the Nash Family and Thomas Quincy’s fiancée.
Thinking about Thomas Quincy made Clara Thornton even more embarrassed.
She felt she couldn’t face Thomas Quincy or anyone related to her anymore.
Nancy Nash glanced at Clara Thornton and then said, "Hey, maid, go make me a cup of tea."
Clara Thornton squinted her eyes, turned her head towards Nancy Nash, and said, "Are you talking to me?"
"Yes, you’re slacking off here. Won’t your master punish you if they find out?"
Clara Thornton usually dressed very casually since no one would see her in the lab, let alone the various protective suits she wore.
Her attire was simple and ordinary, and she didn’t expect to be mistaken for a maid by Nancy Nash.
Clara Thornton curled her lips in a mocking smile, "Just you wait."
She had heard that this woman was skilled with poisons. Everyone knew she was a pharmacist, but they were unaware that she was also adept at using poisons. Clara wondered if Nancy Nash could detect the concoction she had prepared for her.
Clara Thornton stood up and went into the kitchen.
Nancy Nash glanced around the Faulkner Family’s villa, a trace of annoyance flashing in her eyes.
If Thomas Quincy hadn’t repeatedly urged her to come over and detoxify, she wouldn’t have left the Nash Family.
Before leaving, she had visited the Quincy Family, and Thomas Quincy had given her the detoxification method.
Nancy Nash followed Thomas Quincy’s instructions because she wanted him to feel favorable towards her.
She knew that although she was already Thomas Quincy’s fiancée, he didn’t have much affection for her.
Nancy Nash, a lady favored by the heavens, felt only a perfect man like Thomas Quincy could match her, so she had to cooperate well and revive Hazel Langley.
A moment later, Clara Thornton came over with a cup of tea.
"Miss Nash, please have some tea."
Nancy Nash took it, gently blew on it, and then sipped it.
Seeing that she was completely unaware, a trace of contempt flashed in Clara Thornton’s eyes.
Hah! Daughter of a so-called poison-making Nash Family, in Clara’s view, was nothing special. She drank the concoction Clara prepared without the slightest awareness. How could Eleanor Sterling trust such a woman to detoxify Hazel Langley?
Seeing the contempt in Clara Thornton’s eyes, Nancy Nash heavily put the teacup down, her expression instantly turning sour.
"What kind of look is that?"
She had clearly seen Clara Thornton’s disdainful gaze. How dare this little maid look down on her?
Clara Thornton curled her lips in a smile, "Miss Nash, did you see it wrong?"
"I wasn’t wrong! You just rolled your eyes at me!"
As Nancy Nash spoke, her face suddenly twisted, and she abruptly stood up, hurriedly heading upstairs.
