CHAPTER 872: CHAPTER 872: LET ME COMPETE FAIRLY WITH HIM

In Aethelgard Hospital, Ronan Keating is lying down.

He feels a bit of an urgent need, not expecting to hear footsteps just as he gets up.

Ronan instinctively lies back down.

A moment later, the ward door opens, and Yvette Ray walks in. Upon seeing her, Ronan grins, "You’ve come to see me."

Yvette looks at Ronan coldly, her expression indifferent, "Don’t get me wrong, it’s just because you got hurt due to me and Eleanor, that’s why I’m here."

Ronan smiles, "I won’t misunderstand."

Yvette pulls a chair to sit beside him, and Ronan’s face is full of helplessness.

Eleanor Sterling has asked him to pretend to be seriously ill, and now with Yvette here, how can he continue the act? He’s about to burst.

"Um... I need to use the restroom."

Yvette frowns, "Aren’t you seriously injured? The hospital should have provided you with a urine bag."

Ronan frowns, awkwardly saying, "I don’t know why, but they removed it."

Once you tell a lie, you need countless more to cover it up, and Ronan feels very guilty.

Yvette is silent for a moment, then steps forward, "I’ll help you go."

Ronan immediately nods, "Okay."

The two difficultly move towards the restroom, and in order to appear weaker, Ronan gives all his strength to Yvette.

Yvette seems frail, but she supports him steadily in actuality.

Ronan didn’t expect to be so close to Yvette again, causing ripples in his heart.

Inside the restroom, Yvette lets go, "We’re here, you can start."

After saying this, she turns to leave.

Ronan coughs lightly and then solves his physiological needs. A moment later, Yvette comes back to help him out.

After lying back on the bed, Ronan finally breathes a sigh of relief.

With nothing else to do, the ward becomes quiet.

Yvette asks, "Would you like some water?"

Ronan shakes his head, his eyes hotly fixed on Yvette, saying, "You’re here taking care of me, does it mean you still have feelings for me? Otherwise, you’d just ignore me."

Upon hearing this, Yvette’s face darkens, "If you talk again, I’ll leave immediately."

Seeing Yvette intending to escape again, Ronan decides to speak openly. He continues, "Yvette, after all we’ve been through, we’ve become indelible marks in each other’s lives. Can you really forget me?"

Yvette lowers her eyes; she can’t forget, no matter how deeply she was hurt in the past. She’s tried to forget, but still can’t.

"Since we’re a pair of ill-fated lovers, can’t we rely on each other in the future? Let me atone for the sins I’ve committed in the past."

Yvette doesn’t speak; she scoffs coldly, "I’m not only with you."

Ronan’s gaze dims; Yvette also has Ethan Finch.

"Then let me have a fair competition with him. Give me a chance, will you? Let me compete fairly with him and forget everything, and we’ll get to know each other anew."

Yvette looks at Ronan, her expression slightly dazed.

Years of knowing each other can’t be erased with a simple sentence of getting to know each other again.

She stands up and walks towards the back.

"I’ll go get you some water."

Ronan notices she hasn’t denied it, his thin lips curling up slowly; Yvette is finally wavering.

As long as she’s willing to give him this chance, he will do everything he can to win her back.

Perhaps one day in the future, they’ll really be able to mend what was broken and rekindle their past deep feelings.
