The moment the girls reached me again, the music had already shifted into a slower beat—one of those romantic Latin tracks that practically begged for body contact. They didn''t hesitate. One of them took my hand, the other slid her arm around my waist, and we were back on the dance floor like nothing had happened.

After some hours, most of the adults were very drunk (most of the ones who don''t drink had already left), it was already past 2 a.m.

At one point, I was singing:

"A e le gusta gasolina (?Dame más gasolina!) Cómo le encanta gasolina (?Dame más gasolina!) A e le gusta gasolina (?Dame más gasolina!) Cómo le encanta gasolina (?Dame más gasolina!)"

while the two chicks chanted along with the ''?Dame más gasolina!'' parts, ughing and dancing around me, making the crowd join in the rhythm too. Even Jay was very drunk, as he was dancing happily with Phil

Cam and Mitchell were doing a very mboyant dance, with my dad following the rhythm...

After that, I song: "Shaky, shaky, shaky, shaky... Terremoto (terremoto), Terremoto (terremoto), Terremoto (terremoto)... Que mueva to'' lo que tiene...."

I was drunk, but even if I had been sober, I wouldn''t have remembered the rest of this song. But I need to thank Daddy Yankee—seeing the girls ''shaky'' was good enough.

After a while, I received a message from my dad, making me go to the bathroom.

As I stepped into the bathroom, my dad peeked over the top of the stall. "Hey son, you are really drunk, huh?" he remarked, eyeing my state.

"You want your spare clothes or not?" I offered.

"I was just saying, not judging. Now give me, please," Dad replied.

I handed him the clothes, which were still neatly packed.

"Dad, I saw you kissing a very attractive woman back there," I called out, while sshing some water on my face and wiping off the many lipstick marks.

    "Yeah!" he yelled back.

"Do I want to know what happened?" I asked.

"Huh?" he muttered, stepping out of the bathroom stall and tucking his shirt into his pants.

"Do I want to know what happened?" I asked again, then I pointed at the new pair of shoes on the floor for him to use

He started to think. First, he made a smug smile, then the smile faded and turned into an awkward one.

"Nah, you better not..." he muttered atst.

"Oh man, these ones will need Hirudoid (it works for bruises too—love bites)," I murmured, looking at some marks on my neck.

"Somehow I think sandwich is my preferred food now…" I thought out loud

After that, I left the bathroom and headed straight back to the dance floor.

The party kept going, and going—and only stopped around 7 a.m. I had paid extra to extend it, since it was originally supposed to end by 4 a.m. Jay was already gone by then, pletely wasted.

I gave the girls a ride, as they needed to quickly get to the hotel and change— their flight back to Colombia was at 10 a.m. Not so surprisingly, I found my mom at the hotel too. The five of us went to the airport together, my mom and I said goodbye to the three of them there.

"Incredible gics..." I murmured while watching their mom wave back and walk into the security check area.

    Judith looked at me.

"Mom, if you want to scold me for anything, at least you need to ease your wide grin," I teased, receiving a bonk in return.

"I will forget what happened today," she said

"Are you sure? Because it seemed pretty amazing," I said back, receiving another bonk—this time with more force.

    We headed back home together

    ---

"Wake up, sleepyhead," Paige called, making me barely awake.

"Go away, little gremlin," I grumbled, shooing her.

"Come on, we have lunch with the Dunphys and the Pritchetts—plus the nearly added two," Paige said.

"Why would they do a family lunch after a wedding party? And why are we even invited?" I groaned.

"In the middle of the party, you were with ire, Mitchell, and Jay, and she mentioned getting together today," Paige reminded me.

"Okay, a drunk dumb idea. I''m not going..." I muttered, throwing the nket over my face.

"Come on, don''t be a killjoy," Paige insisted, throwing herself on top of me.

I ruffed, "Okay, why do you even want to go?". Then I smirked, "Did you y for the other side and end up liking Alex?"

"No, you idiot," she snapped, punching me (which I didn''t feel, since I was under the nket). "I was sober and saw a lot of funny things..." she exined.

"Understood, you just want to annoy others. Go do that alone," I muttered, shooing her again.

Paige tried to tickle me. Seeing like she will still annoy me, and seeing my sleep leaving, I said, "Fine. But we will be back at 4 p.m., since Cher andpany areing at 9 p.m. I''ll sleep in between. And you better have good stories to tell."

I got up, took a shower, and then downed a can of Monster. They were bing a hittely, especially at parties and clubs—the Marshmello endorsement was definitely working (not to mention the idea of being twice the size but the same price as Red Bull).

"I love this young body, everything is so effective," I murmured after drinking the Monster. I know not to abuse this kind of drink, though.

    ---

The three of us—me, Paige, and Mom—headed out to the Dunphys'' house for lunch.

ire greeted us at the door with a smile. Inside, the table was already set and full of familiar faces: Phil, Alex, Luke, Haley, Manny, Mitchell, and Cam were all seated, chatting andughing.

"Look who''s alive, J-Money" Phil joked as we walked in. I High fived him

    "Our singer!" Cam eximed noisily.

"If it isn''t my favorite modern family," I said with a wide grin, saluting everyone with energy.

"You''re all surprisingly well," I added, looking especially at ire, Cam, and Mitchell—Haley, on the other hand, was visibly suffering from a bad hangover.

"You''re one to talk," ire shot back, narrowing her eyes at me.

"What? I just had a little funst night," I replied. "Look at me, I''m all fine," I added with a snickering nce at Haley. "Just a little sleepy."

"I could even sing again right now," I added, shing a yful grin.

"Please don''t," Haley mumbled with a pleading tone.
