Tyrant's return: Reborn as a Good-For-Nothing Young Master
Chapter 47: Ch 47: A Visit- Part 4
CHAPTER 47: CH 47: A VISIT- PART 4
Fredric sank back into his chair as Fenrir left the room, the door clicking shut behind him. He let out a long sigh, the weight of the conversation pressing down on him.
A part of him wanted to strangle his younger brother for being so stubborn, so unwilling to accept help or guidance.
The other part of him, however, couldn’t help but admire Fenrir’s tenacity.
His little brother was no longer the clueless, dependent youth he used to be.
Fenrir was a force to be reckoned with now, and Fredric found himself in the uncomfortable position of trying to protect someone who didn’t want protecting.
"It was so much easier when he was a good-for-nothing."
Fredric muttered under his breath. Back then, he only had to throw money at Fenrir’s messes, cover up his misdeeds, and pretend nothing had happened.
But now, with Fenrir’s identity as ’X’ coming to light, the stakes were higher.
The world was after him, and it wasn’t just a matter of paying people off anymore. Fredric had to work hard to shield his brother, and that realization made his head throb.
"Still complaining, Fredric?"
A voice broke through his thoughts.
Rick, his ever-faithful secretary, had entered the room. He arched an eyebrow as he looked at Fredric, leaning against the doorframe.
"You don’t look half as troubled as you say you are. In fact, you look downright pleased that your brother’s found his feet."
Fredric didn’t answer immediately.
He just stared at the desk, lost in thought, but the corners of his lips twitched upward in the barest of smiles.
The truth was, despite the headache Fenrir caused him, Fredric couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride.
His brother had proven he was capable of handling himself—and not just any way, but in a way that would have others clamoring for his attention.
Rick shook his head and let out a huff.
"You’re impossible, Fredric. I always knew you were a bro-con. I have no idea how you manage to hide it on a daily basis."
After a moment, Fredric stood up, his smile fading into something more businesslike.
He turned to Rick and spoke in a serious tone.
"I have a job for your younger sister."
Rick froze at the mention of his sister.
"No. No, Fredric. Not her. You’re not thinking about sending her to Fenrir, are you?"
His voice dropped to a low, almost pleading tone.
"That’s a bad idea. You know what kind of trouble that could cause, given her nature. She’ll make things worse, not better."
Fredric’s face remained neutral, but the slightest glint of amusement flickered in his eyes.
"I’m not talking about sending her in as a subordinate. But I need someone to support Fenrir, and there’s no better person than your sister. She’s an S-class, and she’s—"
He paused, then continued carefully.
"—not interested in humans romantically."
Rick groaned, rubbing his temples.
"I don’t need you to rub salt in my wounds, Fredric. I’m well aware of my sister’s—preferences."
He winced as if the very thought of it caused him physical pain.
"And I don’t see how sending her as Fenrir’s bodyguard is a good idea. She’ll scare him half to death. Fenrir’s not exactly the trusting type, and she’s not exactly warm and fuzzy."
Fredric smiled in that unnerving way he always did, a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
"You’ve got to admit, Rick, she’s the best candidate for the job. And maybe you’re right—Fenrir’s not the trusting type, but your sister doesn’t need him to trust her. She’ll just need to keep him alive long enough to let him make his own mistakes."
Rick opened his mouth to protest, but Fredric raised a hand to stop him.
"Besides, she can handle herself. You’ve seen her in action. She won’t be a burden to Fenrir. And if anyone’s going to be able to get through to him, it’s her."
Rick let out a frustrated sigh, exhaling sharply.
"You’re really doing this, aren’t you?"
Fredric’s eyes gleamed with a dangerous kind of calm.
"You know as well as I do that this is the right decision. Fenrir needs someone who won’t coddle him but can still keep him alive. She’ll be perfect."
Rick reluctantly nodded, though his expression was one of deep resignation.
"Fine, but don’t come complaining to me when she causes a scene."
Fredric’s smile widened, knowing he had won this round.
"I won’t. But don’t forget to tell her to behave herself. We don’t need Fenrir getting any more ideas."
As Rick turned to leave, Fredric called out to him one last time, his voice light but carrying an undercurrent of finality.
"And make sure she understands that this is about Fenrir’s safety, not your family drama. We can’t afford for him to get caught up in any of that."
Rick’s face flushed with irritation.
"Yeah, yeah, I got it."
He gave Fredric one last look before he disappeared from the room, leaving Fredric to his thoughts.
Sitting back down, Fredric stared at the door for a long moment.
The storm with his brother was far from over, but at least now, he had a plan. He would make sure Fenrir’s identity stayed under wraps, no matter what.
And if sending his sister to watch over him was the key to keeping him safe, so be it.
But Fredric knew this would be just the beginning.
Fenrir was no longer just a kid to be protected; he was someone who would change everything.
And Fredric, no matter how much he grumbled, would have to adapt to that new reality.

Fenrir arrived home, expecting nothing more than some quiet after his long day, but as he reached the front of his house, his eyes landed on a figure curled up on the ground.
A black-haired woman, dressed in an oversized hoodie, sat with her knees pulled close to her chest.
Her short hair framed her face, and she looked up at him with wide, expectant eyes as soon as she noticed his presence.
Before Fenrir could make a move, the woman sprang to her feet, the sudden movement startling him slightly.
She brushed off the fabric of her hoodie, dusting herself off, before stepping toward him.
Her eyes glinted with an almost curious energy as she extended her hand in greeting.
"Hi, I’m—"
She began, but Fenrir, with his usual cool demeanor, didn’t bother to acknowledge her words.
Without a word, he walked past her, his steps calm but purposeful.
He barely spared her a glance, as if her presence was no more than an inconvenience.
As soon as he reached his door, he didn’t hesitate to close it firmly behind him, the sound of it shutting punctuating his disinterest.
The woman stood there for a moment, her outstretched hand hanging in the air, her face frozen in surprise.
But Fenrir didn’t look back. He wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries, and something about her reminded him too much of Rick, his brother’s secretary.
Whether she was a threat or not, Fenrir didn’t care for interruptions.
The woman stood still for a moment, her hand slowly retracting, eyes narrowing in mild frustration.
Fenrir didn’t even glance back as he stepped inside, the door clicking shut behind him.
She sighed, but there was a flicker of determination in her gaze. She wasn’t giving up so easily.
