Ultimate Check-in System
Chapter 33: Tyler’s Goal
CHAPTER 33: TYLER’S GOAL
The Next Day, Tyler received a notification when he was about to check those bills.
[Ding! Daily Check-in has been activated.]
[You received a Sword.]
Ignoring it, he focused on the soul bills.
Calculating the number of bills created by the souls was quite a hassle because it had a small problem.
Building Level Monster’s Soul could only make two bills, while Building Level Spirit could make four.
Street Level Monster’s Soul could only make six bills, while Street Level Spirit could make twelve.
City Level Monster’s Soul could only make sixty-two bills, while City Level Spirit could make one hundred bills.
So, on average, they could make three bills with Building Level Soul. Nine bills with Street Level Soul.
And, Eighty One Bills with City Level.
The total number of bills made using these souls was 666.
This number wasn’t that high. Considering that he had millions of gold coins in his inventory.
Fortunately, he had already used his connection with Diva to convert five million gold coins into five million soul bills.
He was pretty sure those soul bills would be arriving at any time in his city.
Considering he used Diva’s connection, he was hoping there wouldn’t be any problem with the delivery.
But even if there was, Misaka was in his city.
Although she wasn’t at Diva’s level, she was still a Sixth Rank hunter.
After making those bills, Tyler and others sat in a circle to talk about their future move.
"So, are we going to hunt more monsters, Lord?" Liam excitedly asked.
He had just achieved the Second Rank. With this newly found strength, he couldn’t wait to fight some monsters.
Seeing his enthusiasm, Tyler replied.
"You could say that. I am not sure if you have noticed this, but the number of monsters in the Eternal Forest is decreasing."
Martin narrowed his eyes and said.
"I noticed that. When we were fighting those monsters the day before yesterday, we saw a lot of monsters leaving the forest."
"The number was around a hundred, and it was just one part of the forest. There should be even more."
Tyler nodded his head and said.
"Exactly! Those monsters are going towards the villages. After all, we have launched a war against the monsters."
"It’s just us, and we have already hunted thirty monsters and spirits. Imagine just how many are hunted around the world."
John replied.
"It’s unimaginable. We simply can’t count that number. It could be anywhere from a hundred thousand to tens of millions."
"Exactly! So, we will be facing those monsters pretty soon. The city is in safe hands. I am not worried about them."
"But I am worried hundreds of villages could be destroyed just within a few days. So, let’s go and save those villages."
Tyler explained his plan.
But, Rose immediately asked.
"Sir, should we do this? We already have low manpower in our city."
Tyler shook his head and took out a map from the inventory.
This man showed the structure of the continent. In the middle, there were several countries.
Among them, the closest one to the western corner of the continent was Azure Country. Near that country, there were several dots.
But they were all just dots, not even introductions.
"These dots represent villages. Each village is facing the wraith of the Eternal Forest."
Hearing that, John voiced his concern.
"Sir, I understand your desire to save people. But the invading force could be anywhere from a few dozen monsters and spirits to hundreds."
Tyler nodded and continued.
"That’s why I waited until reaching Fourth Rank to talk about this. Now that I’m at Fourth Rank, even if it is against Fifth Rank, I can run away."
"My goal is simple. And you misunderstood my intentions, John. I am not a Saint. I don’t have that much positive energy to sacrifice myself."
"My goal is to get these villages under my rule. It’s the same as what I did to Shadow Totem City."
"You could even say I am using their misery to gain their loyalty."
Hearing that, John finally understood the mind of his Lord, but he shook his head.
"Lord, every poor person is miserable. If you can make their lives better, loyalty is just a small price to pay."
"Our life is often full of misery. But if we get a few moments of happiness. That’s all we need. Lord, you gave us that happiness."
"But even so, I still think this is a risky approach. Even if we do claim those villages and help them rebuild. How can we control it?"
"Lord, you can’t just go around the villages. You have to take them into your city and expand it."
Before he could continue, Tyler raised his hand and said.
"John, I am not interested in founding a country. I want to establish a hub of cities that are under me."
"The only city I will rule over is gonna be Shadow Totem City. But of course, I would control other villages and turn them into cities."
"It’s just that I have no interest in ruling them. Instead, I plan to make them a collective stronghold surrounding those cities."
Hearing that, John felt confused.
Not just him, even others were confused as well. Martin even felt ridiculous. Because if Tyler wasn’t planning on ruling, what’s the point of saving them?
Seeing their looks, Tyler smiled and said.
"What do you think will be the most valuable assets for a person in the future?"
"Soul Bills?" John replied with a bit of doubt.
Rose raised her eyebrows and said.
"Monsters and Spirits!"
Tyler gave her a thumbs up and said.
"Exactly! Monsters and Spirits will become a commodity for humans. Because without them, the economy can not be sustained."
"The good thing is that spirits are born from negative emotions, dead souls, and even too much mental energy."
"So, as long as people or monsters die, spirits will continue. The economy will not collapse. But the funny thing is this."
He pointed at the countries on the map and continued.
"They are living under the protection. They see spirits as a threat and do not want to fight them."
"So, they build themselves a haven. Unfortunately for them, it will soon become a cage."
He pointed at those villages and continued.
"As long as I turn these villages into strongholds, each with at least one high-ranking hunter, then I can create a blockade against them."
"Now, if they choose to destroy this blockade, we can attack from all directions. But if they choose peace, every journey will cost them something."
"Half of that income will be used to improve the cities, while half of it will fall into my hands."
"So, as long as I turn these villages into my strongholds, I can effectively control the economy of this continent."
"Because they need to hunt monsters and spirits. Those are the assets of humanity."
As he said that, he almost let out a small chuckle that sounded quite evil.
But compared to what he thought, others were just stunned.
This was just an idea, not even one percent of it was complete. But the vision it gave was enough to freeze their brain.
Seeing this, he didn’t disturb them.
They needed some time to contemplate his idea, or rather, his ambition.
They were a trusted group of people. So, he didn’t mind sharing his main goal with them.
Of course, there were a few things that he hadn’t told them.
They didn’t know Soul Bill was his idea. If they knew, they would definitely believe that Soul Bill was just another means for him to control the world.
Controlling the economy was the same as controlling the world.
His idea was indeed brilliant for this world.
Because in this world, nobles saw poor people as ants. Countries saw villages as a garbage dump.
So, he was going to use those poor people, train them to become hunters, turn those villages into cities, and create a barricade around the continent.
It was an ambitious move, and it needed a lot of work.
He needed to raise over hundreds of thousands of hunters. He needed to fortify every single village and change it from top to bottom.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to save everyone.
He knew his decision had led to the death of countless people.
But he knew that’s how this world was.
Monsters ate humans, spirits ate humans, humans ate humans.
It was a world where the strong would eat the weak and the weak would be left with nothing.
Not even a soul!
In this world, he couldn’t afford to be soft. He couldn’t afford to be weak.
His ambition was just a byproduct, something he planned to use to change this world.
His goal had always been strength. In this world full of monsters, he was just a lonely kid.
A kid who couldn’t trust others. A kid who couldn’t slow down his progress.
A kid, blessed by a unique system, who was determined to change this world.
