CHAPTER 42: ROSE’S TRUE THOUGHTS

"Oh? Has Lord returned so early?"

Although Misaka wasn’t aware of his complete plan, she was still surprised to find that Tyler had returned so early.

After all, less than a month had passed since he left. Normally, this kind of hunt was supposed to take over a month or two.

That’s generally the reason why, in this whole year, Tyler never entered the Eternal Forest.

After sensing her Lord’s presence, she immediately teleported over to his mansion.

(A/N- Teleportation here doesn’t mean an actual teleportation. It’s just a way to say her speed was almost as fast as teleportation.)

"Misaka!"

Only when she appeared in front of his mansion, Tyler stood up with excitement.

After all, he had sent her into an unknown territory. He wasn’t even sure if his enemies were people she could handle.

If something happened to her, he wouldn’t know how he would overcome the grief.

"Lord!"

Misaka smiled as she entered the mansion and moved to his room. Seeing her, he sighed a breath of relief and nodded.

"Welcome back!"

"Lord, I have completed my mission." Misaka spoke with a serious expression.

"What mission?" Rose, standing on the side, was stunned by this news.

She thought Misaka’s mission would be to take care of the city.

Tyler sat down and replied.

"I wasn’t one hundred percent sure that those people running human auctions would send other hunters after losing their three hunters."

"So, I asked Misaka to read their mind, find their location, and test their strength."

"Before making a move, I needed to make sure they are within my capabilities."

"She can read minds? Wait, can you control others?"

Rose’s eyes lit up as she asked.

She knew her Lord wouldn’t do anything that seemed bad in his eyes. But as his subject, she wouldn’t mind getting her hands dirty.

Even if she crossed the line, she wasn’t afraid of punishment.

As long as she could help her Lord achieve his goal without much effort.

Before Misaka could speak, Tyler cut her off.

"No, she needs to constantly keep an eye on the target to control them. Her ability only allows her to control others’ thoughts, not their memories."

Rose showed a look of regret while Tyler glared at her and said.

"Rose, I am telling you. Without my order, you are not allowed to harm other villages."

"I am not harming them. I am helping them grow stronger."

Rose replied without any guilt or anger.

Tyler was immediately speechless.

He understood her reasoning. He had brought a destroyed village with a population of five hundred to a city with a population of five hundred.

That’s because several children were born this month.

Although most of it was due to his immense wealth and the Check-in System, everyone in the city believed he was a miracle leader.

With his presence, any place would grow stronger and better.

With that kind mentality, Rose had no guilt of disobeying her Lord to get those villages under his rule.

"What’s going on?"

Misaka confusedly asked.

Rose realized that if she could get Misaka on her side, she would convince Tyler as well.

But as Rose explained her reasoning, Misaka looked at her with an odd expression.

Her gaze turned pitiful as she turned towards Tyler and said.

"Lord, her motivation for this kind of conquest is simple. She wants to turn you into those normal, noble sons."

"You know, those disgusting people who would often have sex with their maids. That’s what she wants with you."

"Ahhhh, no, no, no, no, don’t listen to her, Lord! She is lying. I am not doing this for sex."

When Misaka exposed her true intentions outright in her Lord’s face, she felt like dying.

She almost sent a mental shock to her brain.

Fortunately, Misaka sensed this and activated her skill.

"Damn it, Rose! Are you trying to make me angry? Don’t you know how I’m gonna feel if something happens to you?"

Tyler immediately appeared in front of her, but sensing Misaka’s Aura in Rose’s mind, he sighed in relief and then angrily scolded her.

When she heard his scolding, Rose burst into tears. She just wanted to be with her Lord.

Why was it so difficult?

Why wasn’t her Lord interested in her?

Seeing her tears of grievance, Tyler sighed and said.

"Rose, even if you want to have sex with me, I can’t do it until you and I are eighteen. I am only sixteen, Rose."

Misaka also walked next to her and said.

"You know how much our Lord hates those disgusting nobles. I understand your intentions, but your actions will only turn our Lord into what he hates the most."

Hearing her words, Rose broke down even more.

Guilt, Anger, and frustrations, all of them turned into tears as she started crying.

Seeing this, Tyler was speechless.

One minute ago, they were talking about Misaka, and one minute later, Rose started crying.

This felt like he was in some kind of sitcom.

He shook off those thoughts from his mind and picked up Rose.

"Listen, Rose, I don’t want to forcefully change anyone. But I also don’t want you to remain the way you grew up here."

"I will change this world. So, please have some faith in me!"

Hearing his words, Rose slowly nodded her head while sniffing.

"From now on, always try to control your mental energy, otherwise it can leave you brain dead."

Mental Energy was one of the most important parts for humans and spirits. But unlike spirits, humans didn’t have much control over it.

Only after reaching Second Rank, they will gain some control over it.

That’s allowed them to use mental energy to do various things like controlling their Aura, peeking inside their body, controlling cards, and using Natural Energy.

But as humans didn’t have perfect control over it, losing control of their mental energy could cause some serious damage to their brains.

Rose sniffed while nodding her head.

"Seriously now, let’s hear about your mission, Misaka!"

Tyler returned to his seat.

Unlike Rose, Misaka was created by his imagination, so her moral values were more in line with his.

Even Rose didn’t see those nobles who would forcefully have sex with women or even little girls as disgusting and wrong.

So, for Rose, not being able to share an intimate relationship with her Lord had been frustrating.

Misaka, being a woman whose loyalty was even higher than Rose understood this.

But she also understood the boundaries that she shouldn’t cross.

Misaka returned to her previous position and started explaining.

"First of all, they didn’t send anyone to our city. Instead, they were trying to get people from other villages."

"So, I went to find the place that controlled those auctions. Upon going there, I found that the leader was a Seventh Rank Hunter."

When Tyler heard that, his eyebrows rose.

’If he is a Seventh Rank Hunter, I can’t make any move right now. The gap in power between Third and Fourth Rank is already so massive.’

’I can’t even imagine just how big the gap between Sixth and Seventh Rank hunters would be.’

’That being said, it’s just my assumption.’

He narrowed his eyes and asked.

"Misaka, how long can you stand against a Seventh Rank Hunter?"

Misaka shook her head and said.

"I would be defeated easily."

Rose wiped her tears away and carefully listened. She no longer wanted to be a spoiled girl.

Even if she had that desire, she was going to suppress it until her Lord was ready to take her.

It took her a while to concentrate on their conversation as her thoughts kept wandering.

"Continue!"

Tyler gave her the command, and she followed.

"Upon realizing the difference, I immediately found more about him. Currently, the Azure Country is ruled by one Royal Family."

"But this royal Family is directly connected to the Twelve High Nobles. There are also Thirty-Six Weak Nobles Families."

"And, there is another force that can give pressure to those nobles. It’s called Houses of Madmen."

"Very few people know about human trafficking and organ supply. They only know their children are sent to these houses to fight nobles."
